A special one night presentation of "Retro High Rollers" will be played instead of Gambit PM. It is retro not only in set, but in a few of the rules. Manuela will be rolling the dice. Insurance markers will only be earned during the Big Numbers. Each front game will feature two halves of a larger prize, the second game for a new luxury automobile. Differences: After each game won, that player plays the BIG Numbers anywhere from $25,000 to as much as $50,000. Manuela will first roll a pair of money dice. Each die has sides that say $250, $300, $350, $400, $450 and $500. That money roll will determine the value of each number removed for that current roll. If Manuela's final roll clears the last of the BIG Numbers, the contestant will win FIFTY times the total of Manuela's last money dice roll. So if her last money roll is $450 + $400, then $850 total times 50 = $42,500 won at the BIG Numbers! One game played, then a commercial, then one Big Numbers game, then another commercial, then the second front game is played, then a commercial, then the second Big Numbers is played, then a commercial, finally a recap of the day. If time permits, a special audience game may be played to fill up time if necessary. As this is a "pilot" of sorts, there will be no returning champions. The first two people to sign up for this will get to play it. I will require you to submit to me via private message the following: Your first name Your last name (or last initial if you prefer) Include other items in your bio such as where you are from, what kind of work you do or if you are attending school, hobbies or other interests, any family members you wish to mention. Finally also P.M. to me 15 buzz codes ranging higher than 0 but lower than 101. Thank you, Bill

www.televisiontunes.com/High_Rollers_-_1974.htmlwww.televisiontunes.com/High_Rollers_-_Short.htmlFrank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): And now a game of high stakes, where every decision is a gamble, and every move could be your last! HIGH ROLLERS!!!! And here's the man with the action, the croupier of the dice table... Bill McDee! www.televisiontunes.com/High_Rollers_-_Short_-_2.html(applause) That's me! Good evening and no, my hands are not cold and these are not fuzzy dice mufflers I'm wearing on my hands. No, these are the dice that will determine the fate of our two contestants this evening, one of whom could wind up with over $100,000 in cash and a luxurious new automobile! (NBC Whoas even though this is on CBS) And the lady who will be rolling these dice, Manuela Arbelaez! Good evening Manuela. Manuela: Good evening Bill. Between becoming the new dealer on Gambit PM and now doing this, I'm ready to start working at a casino! Bill: Just make sure it's not at a Trump casino as he's rather busy doing other things for the next four years or so. Speaking of busy, let's get busy, walk over to the dice table and introduce tonight's contestants shall we? (Contestant music) Manuela: Glad to Bill... He's from Columbus...not Ohio, but Mississippi, he does double duty as a cashier and a stock person for a discount store, Bryan Law. (applause) And he is from North of the Border, all the way from Toronto, Ontario in Canada, a collector of retro video games, Mark Liotta! (applause) Manuela: Players, good evening and good luck! Bill: Bryan and Mark, welcome to our game. I want to wish each of you the very best of luck as you will be competing for control of the dice which Manuela will be rolling. With each good roll of the dice, one of our players will win cash, prizes, fabulous vacations and other merchandise too. The winner of the game will then go to the Big Numbers for a chance at up to $50,000 in cash! Audience: Whoa!!! So without further ado, let's get right down to business shall we? I'll ask a question. The first player to ring in will have the option to either answer it himself or challenge his opponent to do so. A correct answer wins control of the dice which proves very important, an incorrect answer gives control of the dice to your opponent automatically, so play carefully please. First toss up question of our first game tonight goes something like this... True or False Catgut comes from cats. www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3Mark, you are first. Do you wish to answer yourself or challenge Bryan to do so?

I'll go on a limb and say false.

Post by billmcdee on Jan 21, 2017 17:50:09 GMT -5
It was a safe limb, it is indeed false Bryan! (applause) It comes from sheep believe it or not. All the rolls are safe, so Manuela, roll Bryan a good number! (FYI, random.org is being used to simulate the rolls) A little itty bitty two... No decision to make, the two is what you automatically must take... (ding) Congrats Bryan, you just won half of our country! (Chuckles) Actually that represents a trip to several national landmarks throughout the U.S. of A. If you pair it up with the other half on the board, and of course win this game, that vacation will be yours. Next question... Was "Lady Bird" married to President Jimmy Carter, President Gerald Ford, or President Lyndon Johnson? www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3Bryan, you are first to ring in. Do you want to answer it yourself or challenge Mark to do so?

Correct Bryan! (Applause)
(By the way I hope and pray those bad storms down south aren't affecting you or yours!)
2 is the only bad roll Bryan. Do you want to take the roll or pass it to Mark?

(He's most assuredly in my thoughts and prayers and I dare say many other members' thoughts and prayers as well) And Manuela rolls for you Bryan... An eight, a good safe roll... Many ways you can play it. You can take the 8 by itself or the 7 plus 1, the 5 plus 3, or the 4 plus 3 plus 1. Chance at 1, 2 or even 3 prizes depending on how you want to play it Bryan.

(Applause) The audience likes that move. First of all under the 1... (ding) Some lovely artwork for your home. A color-by-numbers portrait of yours truly! Just teasing, it's far nicer than that! And under the 3... (ding) (ding) (applause) The other half of that holiday in the U.S. of A. And under the 4... (ding) (ding) $1,000 in cash. Some spending money for your trip Bryan, IF you win this game... Lots of goodies, all for you so far. Incidentally should a player win the game and have no prizes on his or her side of the ledger, they will win a house minimum of $500 in cash. Next toss up question. Put on your thinking caps players, back to Algebra class. Solve for x in this equation... 3x - 5 = 19 www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3Mark, you rang in first. Do you want to answer this question or challenge Bryan to do so?

I think I'll answer. If my math serves me right, 3 times 8 gives me 24, then take 5 off leaves 19. Therefore, I will say 8 as my answer.

Eight is correct!
(applause)
Mark, no prizes on your side yet, however the rolls of 2, 3, 4 and 10 are bad.
If you take the roll and Manuela rolls 2, 3, 4 or 10, Bryan will win.
Do you wish to take the roll or pass it to Bryan?

Taking the roll, taking the risk. Manuela let's see what you do here... Seven! Good roll! 7 is the only way to do it. (ding) $2,500 in cash. (applause) Both players now with something at stake, in addition to the Big Numbers bonus game of course... Next question... Was it Groucho Marx of Marx Brothers fame or Moe Howard of the Three Stooges whose real name was Moses Harry Horwitz? www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_BUZZIN.mp3Mark, you are first again. Do you want to answer this question or challenge Bryan to do so?

I'm gonna regret this, but I don't believe Groucho was his real name so I will say Groucho Marx, Richard Marx's great-great-great-great-great grandfather (LOL).

It was Moe Howard.
So sorry about that Bryan.
Mark, you can either take this next roll or give it to Bryan.
5, 6, 8, 9 and 11 are the safe rolls.
What do you want to do Mark?

I think I will hand the dice off to Bryan

Post by billmcdee on Jan 26, 2017 4:47:40 GMT -5
Technically pass the roll to him, since our lovely Manuela is our roller Bryan, you need for Manuela to roll a 5, 6, 8, 9 or 11, otherwise game 1 will go to Mark. And she rolls... (BUZZ) It's a three, and Mark wins this game! (Win cue theme & applause) Well Mark, it's a modest beginning, but $2,500 in cash is yours, and in a moment a chance at the Big Numbers which could be worth anywhere from $25,000 all the way up to $50,000 in cash. Bryan, the Three Stooges did you in that time unfortunately, or at least their leader Moe anyway. Stand by and root Mark on because you and Mark will compete in another game, right after the Big Numbers. And the Big Numbers will be, right after these words of interest.

(applause) There they await, the nine BIG Numbers for you Mark. In a moment Manuela will be rolling two pairs of dice, one at a time. The first pair are money dice. On each side of each money die we have $250, $300, $350, $400, $450 and $500. After she rolls the money dice, she will then roll the golden dice to determine a number. Then it will be up to you to remove that number, or any combination of the Big Numbers that add up to the value of her total on the golden dice. For each number you remove, you will win the amount of money on the money dice, so if she were to roll $300 and $300, a total of $600 and you removed two of the Big Numbers, you'd score $1,200. Any money you score is yours to keep Mark, however, if Manuela rolls a number that would clear the last of the remaining Big Numbers, you will then win 50 times the value of the money dice!!! That means anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000!!! Also, should Manuela roll doubles with the Golden Dice, you will be awarded one of these... An insurance marker. These will afford you one extra roll of the dice should a bad roll occur. Here's Manuela's first roll of the money dice. She will roll these at the start of every turn... Nice $750 per Big Number knocked off this turn. And now the Golden Dice... It's a nine Mark... You can remove the 9 by itself, or 8 and 1, 7 and 2, 6 and 3, 5 and 4, 6 plus 2 plus 1, 5 plus 3 plus 1, 4 plus 3 plus 2...Lots of ways for a nine. I usually suggest trying to keep the smaller numbers in play longer if possible which helps with more combinations, but it is entirely up to you of course. Which number or numbers would you like removed Mark?
|
|
|
Post by GameShowNetwork on Jan 26, 2017 16:51:08 GMT -5
I'll start with the 9 by itself
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 26, 2017 17:16:02 GMT -5
The big 9 goes dark... $750 in cash just like that. Next rolls Manuela... $750 again... And the golden dice show... www.dougmorris.net/dice/HR78_DOUBLES.mp3Doubles! Obviously no decision here, the 2 by itself will come off... First the insurance marker for you Mark. Now $1,500 in cash, all the rolls are still safe. Next money roll Manuela... Wow that's $800 per number this time! And she rolls... A little itty bitty three! Aren't you glad now you took that 9 by itself earlier? Once again, no decision to make, has to be the 3 going dark. 3 is the only bad roll now, but you have a marker Mark. Manuela, let's get another winning roll from you. First the money dice... $850 per number this time! Now the Golden Dice... Lucky 7, good roll... This time Mark, we need you to decide. Do you take the 7 off by itself, or do you go the 6 and 1 combination this time?
|
|
|
Post by GameShowNetwork on Jan 26, 2017 21:51:31 GMT -5
6 and 1
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 27, 2017 4:48:46 GMT -5
Off goes the 6 and the 1... With each number worth $850 that time, another $1,700 added to the pot, now you have $4,000. 3, 6 and 10 are the bad rolls. Manuela, please roll the money dice. $650 per number removed this time, and the roll is... Eight! Good roll, only one way to do it... The 8 goes black, now the good rolls are 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12. You're up to $4,650 Mark. Next roll of the money dice... $550. And now the golden dice... Five! Good roll! Out goes the 5. You're up to $5,200. 4 is good, 7 is good, an eleven will clear those Big Numbers and win big for you Mark. Next roll of the money dice... A big one! $800... If Manuela rolls an eleven right now, you will win $40,000!!!!!!!! Big roll, 4 and 7 are good, but we want 11! You still have a marker! SEVEN! Good roll!!! Up to $6,000 now, yours to keep no matter what. But this final roll of the golden dice could be worth anywhere from $25,000 all the way up to $50,000 for you Mark! Let's find out! Money dice... $600. Multiplied by 50 means a roll of four will win for you $30,000!!!!!! Stand by. Manuela, roll those golden dice! Nine, no good.... So we take back the insurance marker and do it again... We need a FOUR! (BUZZ) Instead, twice that unfortunately. The good news Mark you picked up another $6,000 in cash here, added to what you won in the first game, an all cash total of $8,500! (Cheers & applause) And if you win again, you'll get to try the Big Numbers again. More after these words of interest! (Theme begins to play, fade to black)
