RIGHT!
9 letters total with 3 words, I think that will prove a very difficult time to beat.
We'll play another crossword and the winner of that crossword will have to beat that time.
Back with more after this!

I need for David to check in for the next crossword game.
I also need somebody to play David in the next crossword game as well.
First come, first serve.

(short intro music) We have a Scrabble Sprint time established and we have a new crossword challenger to take on David, Frank? (theme music) Frank Caliendo (as Charlie Tuna): He's a pinball wizard. Please welcome Nathan Diniz! (applause) Nathan, welcome to Scrabble. We don't have The Magnificent Marble Machine here for you to play, just Scrabble, but let's hear more about you and your pinball wizardry, and anything else you'd care to share Nathan.

Well Bill, I am indeed a pinball wizard. I am the proud owner of 2 pinball trophies, and one of them I won in 2013 thanks to some scoring research I did. I'm a big fan of cats (especially black cats) and I do have a passion for humor. I also love everything that Jim Henson did. I'm also an avid fan of 70's and 80's TV game shows, including Scrabble, and let's not forget Press Your Luck!!!!

Sounds like a most interesting array of interests indeed Nathan. Very pleased to have you joining us to play our game. David, the heat is on, if you lose this crossword game, it will be your second consecutive crossword loss, and that will mean the land of parting gifts for you. Nathan, if you lose this crossword, you'll be back on the next show to play in the first one. Before we go to the board with Nathan, since he's the newcomer he'll play first, we'll need for Nathan to select an envelope to determine the value of our first word. Nathan, which envelope do you want to choose?

Let's see here... did some calculations and I hope the biggest value is in envelope 6!!!!

Well let's see how your intuition did. $300 is not the highest, but it is the second highest. $300 the value of this first word which has 9 letters. Building off of the letter T, and the clue is... (outline) They can help you move along in a hurry. A couple quick reminders, the blue squares are worth an additional $500 to your bank, pink squares $1,000, takes 3 words to win the game and only the winner gets to keep the money in their bank. If you win 3 words to 0 you win another $1,000, if you win 3 words to 1, it's $750, and 3 words to 2 will win an additional $500 for you. 3 stoppers in the word, if you pick one you lose your turn. Nathan, you can either elect to solve this word right now if you think you may know it, otherwise, I'll ask that you select two of the eleven numbered tiles.

We'll try the L... (Scrabbling sound) (repeated dings) Nathan, $800 will go into your bank if you can tell me the word right now.

Too bad it came so soon in the word. Let's place the "I". (scrabbling sound) (ding) It works. You can solve it if you wish or select 2 more tiles Nathan.
