(I stare blankly at the camera) This is going to make talk radio tomorrow, I just know it.

I am totally lost here. It's not a game show, not a talk show, not syndicated and she has a co-host and it's not on ABC and it's not Kelly Ripa...and she's Caucasian and on before noon eastern time...and not a news sponsored show...
Are you Sharon Osbourne? (raising my hands in total confusion, knowing it's probably wrong since that show is on after noon EST).

Are you married to one of the male co-hosts on your show?

Miss X: (giggles) Uhhh -- no. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Doug: If you only knew what the rest of us knew. One question left, Jon. Want to take a guess or help Greg one way or the other?

I think I will take a stab, but it's not a good one. Are you Sara Gilbert?

Thanks. Here's what we know about "The Talk". It airs live on most CBS owned-and-operated stations and affiliates in the Eastern and Central United States at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. That's how it is on my station, anyway. You're not syndicated, you're not on ABC, you're on before noon.
Was your husband a football player?

OK, you're not Kathie Lee Gifford. Is your show on NBC?

Miss X: (shakes head) Nope. (audience groans) Doug: Last question's yours, Greg. Either you win or she wins.

OK...... let's review, shall we? This challenger shares her first and last name with a television host. The show the host is on is currently seen five days a week -- with the possible exceptions of certain holidays. On those occasions, a "best of" show would likely air in its time slot.
She is the *sole hostess* of the show -- meaning there's at least one male among the on-air personnel. That eliminates The Talk. It is a talk show. The show airs before noon in the Eastern time zone, so that eliminates The Talk. It's not a syndicated show, eliminating a whole bunch of other choices. It's not a radio show. It's not produced by a network's news division, which means Kathy Lee Gifford and Hota Kotb are out. It's not syndicated, it's not on ABC or NBC, so it must be on CBS. And, CBS doesn't have a talk show that airs before noon----- (I gasp) Guys..... we forgot to consider cable.
Madame X, would you *please* consider making a very generous, tax-deductible contribution to the American Red Cross?

Miss X: I'll consider it. (scattered laughter and applause) (FF strike buzz) Doug: And that's the game. Congratulations, Miss X, you've stumped the panel. (dings; audience applause; "Trivia Trap" $300 win cue plays)(Doug and challenger shake hands) Miss X: You all played well -- but I was confident. Doug: Now now -- no need to get cocky. (scattered laughter form the crowd) Panel, before we reveal the challenger's name, we should note this was a toughie right from the get-go -- for, at least, three reasons. Indeed, you've realized much too late this is a cable show. Further, the show in question has not been on the air very long. It debuted the day after Labor Day. Also -- the show's title does not include her name. But it does include the names of her *two* male co-hosts. Remember we hinted she was the lone female regular on the program -- and there was at least one male on the show. And the show is technically a talk show. But more to the point -- it's a sports debate show. Just for fun, panel, ya got it now?

(scattered groans) Doug: The promotions folks at a certain ESPN competitor obviously aren't earning their keep. Gentlemen, you've been stumped by the namesake of the moderator of "Skip and Shannon: Undisputed" on Fox Sports One -- Joy Taylor. (audience cheers)Doug: Yeah, and the folks at Disney are going to love us for bringing up Skip Bayless's departure from ESPN to join Fox -- let along bringing up the direct competition. But still, there was a lot of buzz associated with the show before the maiden voyage. Even with all that buzz and the publicity -- the Joy Taylor on that show doesn't get as much screen time as Shannon Sharpe and Skip. Joy: I honestly didn't know there was a Joy Taylor on that show until your producers called me. So this was challenging all around. Doug: Well it was a joy to have you here. I'd love to talk more -- but I'm getting a "hurry up" signal from the floor director. Please go over there, say hi to the panel and take their checks. We'll add in "Joy Taylor" next to "pay to the order of" -- as we go to break. Another game of The Name's The Same -- after this. (much updated version of "Shooting Star" by Sidney Torch plays; Joy shakes hands with panelists as they reluctantly give checks to her)

Due to an unfortunate, real-life development, this episode of TNTS is coming to a sudden end.
Further details forthcoming in the vacations section of NGC.
