Hello and welcome back. Now that we met our contestants, here's how we play THE BIG SHOWDOWN.
The object is to answer questions in order to reach a specific payoff point which we'll reveal before the round begins. We'll show our contestants six catergories worth 1 to 6 points and just a reminder, those points don't determine the diffuculty of the catergories.
Each question is a toss-up and the one who buzzes in first (gets closest to buzzcode of 1 to 100) and gets it right will win those points. Now, stragedy is key here because YOU CANNOT GO OVER THE PAYOFF POINT, which means that if one of your opponents picks a catergory with a point score that, if you were to buzz-in and get it right would put you over the payoff point, then YOU CANNOT ANSWER THE QUESTION.
The contestant who's the first to get the payoff point wins a cash prize anywhere from $100 to $500. We'll play three rounds and then a 10 question sprint round and, after that, the two players with the highest scores will go on to the FINAL SHOWDOWN and the winner of that will go on to our GOLDEN DICE bonus game for a chance at $25,000.
(APPLAUSE)
Now, here's a special bonus for our players. If any one of them wins two payoffs points in a row, then, win or lose the entire game, they'll win a great prize.
Can you tell them, TOM?
Yes, it's a TRIP TO PARIS worth $3,750.
Any questions??
