...If not, the answer was in 1945.
If so, then you have a chance to win it big in Timeline!
Based on a board game series, it's time to figure out WHEN did it happen?
Two players compete in the game of placing events to the Timeline for a chance to win big each and every episode!
BASIC RULES
Three rounds, first to two becomes a new champion. In each round, we use this sequence.
DEAL: Deal 4 cards (events) that look like this to each player. The goal is to get rid of those events first to win.
Then we introduce a fresh new Timeline, with one base card.
The top table represents the Timeline, while the lines explains the events on each year in the Timeline.
Then we start the next part.
TOSS-UP: The players buzz in, the winner of the buzzer calls out a year that he/she believes is the year that the Timeline's base card's event occurred. I will tell if the actual year is BEFORE or AFTER the guessed year, then turn goes to the opponent and goes the same fashion until one gets the answer. The correct answer wins $250 and the right to go first in the next part.
THE GAME: Now players have to try to place one of their events on the Timeline in the correct order. Let's say the Introduction of the Euro happened in 1999.
Now the winner of the Toss-Up will go first. They pick one event from their list and call out the space they want to place. So for example in the above Timeline, you say you want to place "End of World War II" at "BEFORE 1999". (Or you can say anything that goes to that effect.)
Then we'll reveal the answer, whether if it's correctly placed or not.
(NOTE: IT IS BETTER TO READ THE RULES OF THE ACTUAL BOARD GAME TO SEE HOW YOU PLACE THE CARDS ON THE TIMELINE. CLICK HERE.)
If it's right, the player gets $250, we reveal the year, the card is placed and turn goes to the opponent.
If not, we go to the second part of the Game.
WHEN?: Yes, when? The opponent may have a chance to give one of their cards to the current active player, resulting in the active player's number of cards stays the same while the opponent loses one card instead.
This part goes like Card Sharks style. The active player calls out a year (like Toss-Up), then the opponent guess whether the actual year is BEFORE or AFTER that year, or RIGHT ON THE NOSE (just that year). If he/she can guess correctly, they may pick one event and give it to the active player. If not, nothing happens.
No matter what happens, after revealing the year, the card goes to its correct place in Timeline, and turn goes to the opponent.
Round ends right when someone has no cards left. He/she wins the round and scores $500 bonus.
First to win two rounds wins the game, becomes the champion and goes to the bonus round.
If after two rounds, there's a tie. The third round will be a speed up round.
SPEED UP: After toss-up, both players pick two cards from their hand each. We will then immediately reveal the years on those four cards and place them in the Timeline (in chronological order, including the base card). Play then continues as normal.
Money won in the main game are kept by the contestants, win or lose.
BONUS ROUND: SUPER TIMELINE: The champion recieves SIX cards and the Timeline has no base cards.
The champion then, one by one, choose the cards and play them in the Timeline and try to place in the correct order (just like main game). Correct cards placed are worth $1,000 each. However, if the champion misplaced one card, that card is thrown away and we continue until the champion used all six cards. Any money won is kept by the champion.
But if the champion manages to place all six cards correctly, the champion's bonus winnings is augmented to the big bonus, starting at $25,000 and grows by $25,000 each episode until won.
The champion then returns next episode to defend their crown.
If a player becomes a champion 5 episodes in a row, he/she retires and win (current year) THOUSAND DOLLARS! (It's 2016, so $2,016,000. And $2,017,000 in 2017 and so on.)
Any questions? I'll run a pilot in a week or two, in Channel 2!
This is an attempt to resume my hosting career. I might revive Billy Gardell's GOLD soon.
