Jim Thornton: You have the knowledge... You know the odds... All the rest is in the cards... On--A game of skill, fate, and fortune. And now, from Television City in Hollywood... here's your host-- Tony Lane![CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, Jim Thornton. Happy Monday, folks... and welcome to Gambit. It's the show where a 21 or a blackjack could lead to an army full of cash, prizes, and (of course) $1 million. Today, we are celebrating the CBS Television Network's 30th anniversary of being the #1 network in daytime television. Who knows... we could be seeing history in the making in this episode. Right now, let's meet our hostess, our card dealer, and America's sweetheart... here's actress/recording artist Jennifer Love Hewitt. Oh, Jenn...? [WILD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Jennifer: Thanks for that great welcome, everyone. I hope everyone had enjoyed their weekend... and I'm sure that someone will try to beat me for the million bucks. That's still to come. Right now, let's meet today's participants. [CONTESTANTS' INTRO]Our challenger is a supermarket clerk who is also a fan of "Peanuts" and " The Simpsons". From Council Bluffs, Iowa... meet MATT RINGGENBERG![CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And playing against Matt is our returning champion. With a 2-day total of $304,985 in cash and prizes, he's currently unemployed, but enjoys writing and reading books. From the state of Pennsylvania, meet MICHAEL KOONTZ.[MORE CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, Jennifer. We'll see you after the break. First, let's meet Matt. Please tell us in TV land about you for a moment.

Well as Jennifer stated I enjoy writing and reading books, mostly fiction for both writing and reading. Also, I just want to add that I can't believe I'm still here.

After getting the Blackjack Bonus twice in the Beat The Dealer bonus round, who knows... you might go 3 for 3. Anyways, good luck to you. Coming up after the break, we'll begin the first round and see if one of them take the first step of winning the round and take home either the Any 21 Jackpot or the Blackjack Bonus. We'll find out the answer when Gambit comes back right after this pause. So stick around, folks... *back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Welcome back to Gambit. Now that Michael and Matt are all set, I'll explain the short rules. The object is to get closer to 21 than your opponent (without going over). Each correct answer is $100... and whoever is closer to 21, or have your rival busted, wins an additional $500. Let's take a closer look at the big money board on my podium. [CASH REGISTER RINGS]Whoever gets a combination of at least three cards wins the Any 21 Jackpot of $6,500. [APPLAUSE]And whoever gets an Ace and either a 10 or face card wins the Blackjack Bonus of $12,500! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And before the start of the show, the guys from Tandem Technologies, a RANDOM.ORG company, have given our card dealer Jennifer a deck of 54-super sized playing cards that were shuffled, cut, and sealed. Jennifer will now break the seal as we begin round 1 with our first card. Jenny...? Jennifer: Our first card in round 1 is a 2. Tony: Remember... answer the question correctly, and you'll score 100 bucks and a decision. Good luck to both of you... here comes the first question. OMD, U2, or UB40-- What Irish superstar band sings “In The Name Of Love”?*You have 24 hours to PM your buzz-code between 1 and 100.
