Second Chance rides again. Greg Palmer was crowned our new champion the last time out with a big $32,624. We're seeking his next two challengers.
Because we've had a long layoff, we'll bypass qualifying and punt this to anyone who wants to play.

(opening theme) (camera takes wide shot of studio -- eventually zooming in on big board) Doc Holiday: Hollywood's most exciting game is back -- bigger and better than ever. It's time to go for big bucks on the all new... ...Second Chance! (audience cheers)And now here's our host -- who gives everyone a second chance -- Doug Morris! (audience cheers)Thanks, Doc. Helloooo, everybody. Welcome to Second Chance -- where you could spin your way to big payoffs. Our new champion knows a thing or two about big payoffs. Greg piled up $32,624 on the last show. (audience cheers)Matt and David are here to challenge him. Warmest welcomes to our show, everybody -- and good luck. You will definitely need it. We start our first round -- Around the Horn. We make three trips around the horn in this round -- with the first trip going straight down the line from left to right -- or from Matt to David. (board spins)When it's your turn, you may take the first of two spins on our big Second Chance game board. It's loaded with thousands of dollars in cash plus surprises. Those surprises come courtesy of the chance spaces, represented by question marks. On the first spin -- your assured of making money. And all you have to do to make money is hit your button and say -- STOP! (ding)And I just got $725. Now, if this were you, you'd have the choice of ending your turn and taking the money -- or declining the money for the final spin of your turn. That's the second chance in this part of the game. (board spins)If you do take a second chance in this round, it *does* come with a risk -- because the bust spaces will be active. Those are the ones with the dollar signs crossed out. Anytime you land on a bust space in this game -- STOP! ... (FF strike buzz)... that happens. The buzzer sounds, the red light comes on, your score will be reduced to zero dollars -- *and* you'll pick up a letter in the word "bust". Collect all four "bust" letters -- and you'll be eliminated from the game. One more thing. That bright blue "big bucks" space represents a randomly determined amount of cash which could be as little as $3000 or as much as $5000. (board spins)Matt, by random assignment, you'll start us off. So when you're ready -- stop the board. (Matt, please respond with "STOP" and a letter from A to O inclusive.)

Matt: I'll take the second chance. Doug: Declining the measly 75 for a second chance. Very well. (board spins)Doug: Bust spaces are now active. Let's see if you can do better than 75. Matt: STOP!!! (ding)(scattered cheers; a few laughs) Doug: Chance again. Well -- we know there are no busts attached to chances in Round 1. So let's see what happens here. (big bank sfx) (audience cheers)Hey now! Advance to Big Bucks. You'll do considerably better than $75. How much better? (ding) (audience cheers)$4000! Now let's talk to our champ, Greg, for the first time in this game. Let's see if you can top $4000 or get close. (board spins)

(scattered groans) Also playing it cautious. Well -- we've only had one player take a second chance -- and that player happens to be Matt -- who is leading early on with $4000. Second trip around the horn starts with Greg, continues with David and ends with Matt. (board spins)Greg, stop the board when you're feeling lucky. (Greg, please "STOP" the board with a letter from A-O.)

Come on, big bucks! Big bucks, noooooo busts! And...... STOP! (G)

Greg: You know, Doug, I've been trying to play a flawless game, with no Busts at all, but I'm behind, so I have to go for it. (audience cheers)Doug: Playing catch up as we roll that board again. (board spins)Doug: There goes the board. Busts are active. Be careful. Greg: Come on, big bucks! Big bucks, noooooo busts! And...... STOP! (ding)(scattered groans) No busts -- but the lowest visible amount -- five bills.
[ MATT ] [ GREG ] [ DAVID ] < < 4000 > > < < 1300 > > < < 900 > > [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
That gives you a total of $1300 and second place for the moment, Greg. David, you're up to bat next. (board spins)Talk to that board and let's see what happens.
(David, "STOP!" with a letter from A-O, please.)

(ding)(more cheers) Doug: Chance. All righty then. Let's see what happens with this chance. (ding)(more cheers) $2000. That's an improvement. Still in second place. This turn around the horn ends with our leader, Matt. (board spins)Chance to pad the lead starts now. (Matt, please "STOP" the board with a letter from A-O.)

(ding) Stop at $1500. Matt, we could add that money to your podium right now -- or you could risk the $4000 you currently have on a second chance. Either way, we do have one final trip around the horn. What's your call?
