As Marc works on beating the Dragon, I'd like to have a new challenger for him. The first person to sign up will get to start off this episode.
Also, I'm going to do something I've never done on my shows before: a waiting list. I will place challengers on the list in the order in which they sign up. Due to the potential for draw games, you may need to wait an episode or two before actually playing. Still, you may put yourself on the waiting list now, and play as early as the second half of this episode.
So, I need one challenger, and I'd like players to start filling the waiting list. As long as you didn't play in the Pilot, you are eligible!

Marc and Frank, we are ready in 3, 2, 1 (by the way, anyone at any time can add themselves to the waiting list...just chime in!)...
(TTD Theme from '78-'86 plays)
JIM THORNTON: From Los Angeles, it's everyone's game of strategy, knowledge, and fun! It's TIC TAC DOUGH! (Applause) And now, here's the host of Tic Tac Dough, JON DARRALL! (Theme ends as I enter)
ME: Thank you, Jim, and welcome back to Tic Tac Dough! Well, so far, we are finding that this game is one that combines both skill and luck, but maybe one of our contestants will have the right combination of skill and luck to win a whole lot of cash and prizes. I'm ready to give away some of those cash and prizes now, so, Jim Thornton, please introduce our players!
(Contestant intro cue plays as stage doors open behind the player podiums, a la the Caldwell season's stage. The contestants descend stairs one at a time, and I meet them at the bottom at their podia.)
JIM: Our first player is our returning champion from Riverside, New Jersey, with winnings totaling $23,800. Playing X is MARC ENYEDY! And, our second player is a new college student from the San Francisco Bay Area. Playing O is FRANK DRISCOLL!
ME: Welcome back, Marc. How does that sound: "returning champion"? And Frank, tell us a little bit about your educational ventures.
(You may go in either order, and you don't have to wait for me to acknowledge your response.)

Well, currently I am attending San Francisco State University, where I plan to major in a program called BECA, which is short for Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts, and I hope to one day, maybe be a news or sportscaster.

ME: Sounds like a great plan, and thank heavens you aren't like all the other broadcasting students who tell game show hosts "I want your job!" Marc, tell me about your impressions of how the game is going so far.

ME: We're glad you're still here, ready and willing to add on to your $23,800 in winnings. Trust me, some of the questions can be easy, others require a bit more thought. Let's see how things work out for the two of you as we play these nine categories. (Category reveal) ME: We have NATIONAL PARKS; TAKE 2; HEROES; THE STAGE; 1990s NEWS, which is our visual category for this game; THE NAME'S THE SAME; CHEMISTRY; TRIVIA DARE; and HEY, "MAC"! Quick note on the red categories: in TAKE 2, you'll decide whether you'll need one clue or two to answer the question, and in TRIVIA DARE, you'll hear the category and the answers to a multiple-choice question, but you will need to decide whether to answer or dare without knowing the question. Remember, also, that red categories will always involve BOTH players. ME: Now that we've got that done, Marc, you start us off. Good luck!

ME: All right. All of these answers start with the letters "MAC." Bear that in mind when answering, please.
This island has no privately owned automobiles, a permanent population of less than 500 that swells to the thousands during the summer months, and many shops selling its famous handmade fudge. It is located in the shadows of the Western Hemisphere's longest suspension bridge. For the box, name this Michigan island situated in the strait between Lake Huron and Lake Michigan.

ME: Middle box, two-part question worth $1,000. In this category, all questions are about drama and theatre. Here's the question.
In the last 20 years, "jukebox musicals" based on the life and work of a particular pop singer have become smash hits on Broadway. I'll name two recent jukebox musicals, and you name the pop music icons whose songs are featured in the shows.
1. "Movin' Out" 2. "On Your Feet!"
ME: Here's some extra time to consider it (Extra time cue plays.....BONG!). OK, Frank. Name the singers whose songs are featured in the shows I listed, and remember to give a number with each answer.

ME: Right for the box (Applause)! Both of those shows got rave reviews, by the way (BONG-BONG!). Shuffle the boxes for Marc as we build that $1,500 pot. (Shuffle effects) ME: Marc, your move.

Let's go with Hey, "Mac" again.

ME: Get this right, and you'll have the upper left box.
Although associated with Hawaii, it wasn't introduced there until 1881, when botanists brought it there as a windbreak to protect sugarcane crops. The tree, which originated in Australia, produces a nut with an outer shell so hard that it must be cracked with special metal tools. For this reason, it is never sold within the shell. For the box, name this nut commonly used in baking.

Let's go for THE NAME'S THE SAME

ME: All right. These questions deal with people with the same last name. Get this right, and you'll have the center left box.
A former member of the Spice Girls shares her last name with the first African-American Congresswoman. Their first names, respectively, are Melanie and Shirley. For the box, what is their shared last name?

ME: And that would be right (Applause...BONG-BONG!)! $2,500 and a very interesting situation for Marc. Let's shuffle. (Shuffle effects) ME: Marc, it's to you.

ME: 1990s NEWS is the category. It is our visual category, so look at the screen for this picture from 1996. (The screen beside me shows this image) It is perhaps the most iconic image of the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta: Coach Bela Karolyi carrying his injured protege after she successfully vaulted the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics team to its first ever gold medal in the Women's All-Around, shocking the world and making her an inspiration to many. For the block....name the gymnast.
