Let's place the N... (Scrabbling sound) (STOPPER) No, that N was no good, sorry Bryan. It very well may get back to you however... James, you can either guess the word, or select one tile to bring you up to speed.

Well, we'll find out right now if that S is good or a stopper... (Scrabbldee dabbildy dabbilty book) (ding) Nope, it falls in there James. You can try to solve it or take two more tiles if you don't know it yet. Two stoppers still out there somewhere too.

(word win cue) That's what can clear things up! Well played James, since that H was a stopper. Bryan is trailing $350 to $100. $500 or more needed to win a game, James can win on this word, Bryan you can tie it up. We go back to the board with you Bryan since you are behind currently. This time we're building off of the letter "R", six letters in this word and the clue is... (outline sound effect) It often brings people to their knees. If you know it, or think you might, you can try to solve it now, otherwise select two of those eight numbered tiles that you see there Bryan.

Here comes that Y... (mumbling in the audience) (Scrabbling sound) (STOPPER) No! Bryan, so sorry about that, it may get back to you, let's wait and see... James, control is back with you. You can either solve the word or select one tile to bring you up to speed.

(cheering in the crowd) (Scrabbling sound) (DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING) James, this would give you the game and your choice of a bonus if you can solve this right now but if you cannot, then you'll have to place the U.

(buzzer) (audience groans) Oh, no but wow that was truly a sensational guess James! That's too bad, the bonus is now out of play, but good news for you Bryan, as control comes back to you. This has been quite an opening game for sure! Very exciting! Bryan, you can either solve the word, or you can select one tile to bring you up to speed. The pink square bonus is out of play unfortunately.

(laughing!!!) Yes it is! (word win cue) But Bryan, with the U on your side, it's too bad you didn't try to draw that other "C" for another bonus... Nevertheless that ties the score up at $350 apiece... LOL I darn near gave the answer away when I almost said to James "Right church, wrong pew!" (audience laughter & Speedword sound effect)... That sound means we're into SPEEDWORD, score tied $350 each. The winner of this word will score another $300 and win game 1. The runner-up will still keep the $350 they have won already. Building off of the letter N this time, a five letter word. Just a reminder that the clues are always typed out the way they are meant to be heard. The clue is... (outline) He was a real star performer. James and Bryan, at this time I need each of you to PM to me two things. First, how few letters you think you will need to solve this. You can select 0, 1, 2 or 3, since we do not fill in the last blanked out letter, where ever that may be. Second, send me a buzz code from 1 to 100 inclusive. This is in case both of you select the same number of additional letters you think you'll need to solve the word. Once it is determined who buzzed in first, I will use random.org to place additional letters. If the player to buzz in first cannot solve it, the second player will get to see all the word except for one letter. Please send to me how few letters you believe you need to solve this word, and also a buzz code from 1-100. In the event you tie with both the bid and the buzz code, the one of you who submits to me first will be deemed the first to have buzzed in.

That's a winner! (Scrabble main game win) James, you still have $350, yours to keep. Bryan $650 for the game plus a $500 blue square bonus from earlier, $1,150 so far. We'll have game number 2, see if James can tie up this match, or if Bryan will go on to the Bonus Sprint! More, after this!
