Keep the 6 and the 1, let's go for a Crag!

(ding) (scattered groans) Lost a little ground there -- but it was worth the shot. (Frasier's theme plays) Five-point game and -- hear that music calling? It must be time for our new feature here on Crag: The Numbers Game. It's Scrambled Eggs! (audience cheers) Now, here's how Scrambled Eggs works. We've taken eight eggs and placed a letter on each. In a moment, you'll see those eggs over here on the big screen. The eggs and the letters are in no particular order -- hence why they're scrambled. When we show you the word and give you a clue about it, don't tell us the word -- but tell us how many letters are in their correct positions. We're about to show you the name of a city in Michigan. How many out of the eight letters in the city's name are in their correct positions?042 redrangerdude 100 fdriscoll22 066 randomizer.org(Frank buzzes in)Frank?
(And please go ahead and provide three stopper letters with your answer in the event you give the right answer. Thanks.)

This is merely a guess, but 5.
Even though I might be wrong, I'll just put the letters anyway. (C, E, C)

If 5 letters are in their right positions, you'll roll the dice. Is he right? (buzz)No. Sorry. Lenny, normally, the big Crag dice would offer you some help as you try to capitalize. However, we don't want your attention to stray away from the eggs. So, above the eggs... (ding)...we have three possible answers on *those* dice. Again, we've scrambled the name of a city in Michigan with these eggs. Lenny, are 3, 4 or 6 letters in the city's name in their correct positions?

If four letters are in their proper positions in the name of the city, Lenny, you'll roll the dice. Is he right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Dearborn's the name of the city. All the vowels plus the R in the seventh position are in their correct position. I root for *The* Ohio State Buckeyes and they make me read a question about that state up north? Really? (scattered laughter from the crowd) We're having a writers' meeting after the show. (rolling sfx)Lenny, dice are all yours. (ding)Stop on a 6. (ding)There's a 3. (ding)And stop on a 1. Well -- seems like we've seen this movie before. Lenny, want another dime or another roll?

(scattered groans) Oh -- sounds like they wanted you to go for the Crag instead of the non-Crag 13. But it's your decision as we freeze the 6 and 3. (freeze sfx) (rolling sfx)Stop on a 4 and you'll pick up 26 points. (ding)(more scattered groans) Overshot it by 1. Got a 5 instead. At the midway point in Game 1, Lenny has twice as many points as Frank. Remember, 100 points or the higher scorer after tens rounds wins the game. Round 6 question can be categorized as "around the office" -- and here goes. Missing digit question: I'll show you the number of sheets of paper in a ream -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)15 redrangerdude 02 fdriscoll22 99 randomizer.org(Lenny buzzes in)Lenny?

Okay, Lenny says a 5 is missing from the number of sheets of paper in a ream. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Now, for bonus points, Lenny, what are the odds any of the 500 sheets will cause a paper jam. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (rolling sfx)Just kidding. Chance to pad your lead comes now.

(ding)Stop on a 6. (ding)Stop on a 4. (ding) (scattered cheers) And we finally break the 20-point barrier with that 3 on the end. Lenny, those three different numbers total 13. I'll double that for 26 points if you stop the round here.

Taking the points and with that... ...the champ is just one Crag away from winning the first game in our match. Frank, let's see if your luck turns around as we come on down for The Price *WAS* Right. (TNPiR 94 stinger; audience cheers)The first radio commercial aired on WEAF in New York City in 1922. Okay, Frank says a 1 is missing in the price. Did the Queensboro Realty Company pay $100 for that ten-minute ad on WEAF radio in NYC in 1922? (ding; audience applause)(rolling sfx)Yes -- and the dice are already rolling for you, Frank.

(dings; audience cheers) (Doug walks over to Frank's podium) Amazing what happens when you say "please". You just completed the first Crag of the match. For that, you've just won... (crowd and Doug count money in unison) Doug: 100... Crowd: One... (ding)Doug: 200... Crowd: Two... (ding)Doug: 300... Crowd: Three... (ding)Doug: 400... Crowd: Four... (ding)Doug: 500... (dings; audience cheers)(Doug returns to his podium) And just like that, we've got a five-point game. Each player now a Crag away from surpassing the goal of 100 points. Three rounds remain in this game. Round 8 question's on classic TV. Missing digit question: I'll show you the year "The Rockford Files" debuted on NBC -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)60 redrangerdude 63 fdriscoll22 84 randomizer.org
