OK then... here's a new question.
Darrell Evans, Graig Nettles, or Jose Canseco-- What Oakland slugger led the American League with 42 round-trippers in 1988?

You're right for 100... [APPLAUSE, DING]Michael... you have $100 and a Queen for a 10. You need an Ace to win the $20,000 Blackjack Bonus. Do you want to keep the card or pass it to James?

If your next card is an Ace, not only you'll win the first round of the match... but also win the $20,000 Blackjack Bonus. Jennifer... please reveal Michael's next card. Jennifer: Good luck to you, Michael. Your next card is-- *slowly reveals card* --an ACE! Tony: Blackjack! Michael Koontz has just won $20,000! [BELL CLANGING, SIREN WAILS, 21 WIN CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Congratulations on winning the Blackjack Bonus, Michael. How do you feel after winning that jackpot?

Great to hear that... but it's not over yet. If you win one more round, you'll become our new champion and play Beat The Dealer for $1 million. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Coming up next, we'll be playing the second round and we'll see if whether Michael will go all the way to become our new champ... or James try his luck and win big bucks and a tie game. We'll have that answer, and tons more, when Gambit continues... right after this on CBS. Don't go away... [CLOSING THEME][CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*fade to commercial*

*back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Welcome back to Gambit. At the end of round 1, our challenger Michael have won the Blackjack Bonus. Right now, he has a cash total of $20,100. Our champion James has only $200 and needs to win this round in order to achieve a tie ballgame. Let's take a look at the big money board on my podium. [CASH REGISTER RINGS]The Blackjack Bonus is now all the way back to $10,000. However, the Any 21 Jackpot is now worth $4,500. [APPLAUSE]Let's turn our attention to our lovely dealer Jennifer Love Hewitt as she reveals the first card up for grabs. Jenn...? Jennifer: Our first card in round 2 is a King. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: A great card to start round 2. Remember... each correct answer is worth $100 and the player closer to 21 (or have your opponent busted) wins an additional $500. Here comes the first question. Maury Povich, Phil Donahue, or Jerry Springer-- What talk show host is married to Marlo Thomas?*You have 24 hours to PM your buzz-code between 1 and 100.

24 HOUR WARNING!
If James does not PM his buzz-code within 8 hours, he'll receive a strike one penalty and a loss of turn.

[TIME-UP BUZZER SOUNDS]Time's up. James have missed the 24 hour deadline. Strike one for him. If he misses two more deadlines, his championship reign will be over and a new contestant will replace him. Michael... do you have the answer?

If Michael answers the next question correctly and his next card is an Ace, he'll win the $10,000 Blackjack Bonus and become our new champion. Next question... Bonnie Raitt, Phil Collins, or Stevie Wonder-- Who won the 1985 Grammy award for best album for 'No Jacket Required'?

Phil Collins, former lead singer of "Genesis" is the right answer. [APPLAUSE, DING]Fair warning, James... if you pass the card to Michael and it's an Ace, he'll win the $10,000 Blackjack Bonus and become our new champion. Do you want to keep the card?

If James does not respond within an hour, it's an automatic keep.

Let's all hope for a 10, face card, or an Ace. Jennifer... please reveal James's first card. Jennifer: James, your first card is a 9. Tony: The Blackjack Bonus is out of play... however, James needs either an Ace for a possible 20 or a deuce for an 11. Next question... Lungs, skull, or tongue-- Where on the body of some people would one find "fontanels"?

If your next card is an Ace, not only you'll win the $10,000 Blackjack Bonus... but also become our new champion. Jennifer, please reveal Michael's next card. Jennifer: Good luck, Michael. Your next card is-- *slowly reveals card* --a 10. [AUDIENCE GROANS, APPLAUSE]Tony: The Blackjack Bonus is now out of play for Michael. If we have a tie game, we'll add more to the pot. Right now, you're looking at a 20. Before I read the next question, you have a decision to make. Do you want to continue the round or freeze?
|
|
|
Post by larsonfan1 on Aug 19, 2016 16:23:11 GMT -5
I will freeze.
|
|
|
Post by tmann3x on Aug 20, 2016 10:13:33 GMT -5
And Jennifer will now place the freeze marker on Michael's 20. James... it's all up to you. There are no ties in Gambit. The only way for you to beat Michael's hand is a 21. You must answer each and every question right in order to say in the game. If at any event your answer is incorrect, Michael gets $500 and become our new champion. Here comes your next question. 1967, 1973, or 1975-- In what year did the Buffalo Bills move into New Era Field (formerly Ralph Wilson Stadium)?
