Classic Three On A Match

With 11 votes for an alternative version of "Three on a Match", I will most assuredly be bringing this back and it will be an NBC Daytime show.

It will be all cash, except for one prize, a new automobile.  That will be awarded, along with a $25,000 cash bonus to any player who wins three matches in a row.  After winning the car and the $25,000 bonus, that player continues on to try to win more, and it is unlimited how long a championship reign could last.

One difference from the classic show, if a player makes a match with just three picks off the board, they don't win the game instantly, however, they do receive a $5,000 cash bonus.

Winning one completed match wins $5,000.  For each of the first two matches made during game play, the player making the match will get to pick from a money board.  More about that later. 

To win one match, a player must be the first to score three matches during a game.

The categories will return, along with true/false questions.  More detailed rules to come.  Meantime, here is a sample board:

One rule I am editing, if a player makes an instant match, meaning his/her first three picks, they will win DOUBLE the amount of the money card attached to the box that gives them the win.

For the first match, boxes will be worth:

$500, $550, $600, $650, $700, $750, $800, $900 and $1,000.  One each will be attached to each of the 9 potential winning boxes.

Since there will always be three boxes that won't win, no money card will be attached to those.  The reason three boxes won't win is because in one of the columns, one of the four symbols will always be replaced with a NO MATCH card.

Example:

$20 column - Cherries, Watermelon, Lemon, Orange

$30 column - Lemon, NO MATCH, Orange, Cherries

$40 column - Cherres, Lemon, Orange, Watermelon

in this example, a player would win by matching either 3 sets of cherries, 3 lemons, or 3 oranges.  The Watermelon cards plus the NO MATCH card would have no money cards attached to it.

For the second match, boxes will be worth double:

$1,000, $1,100, $1,200, $1,300, $1,400, $1,500, $1,600, $1,800 and $2,000.  Again THESE amounts will double should a player make a match on his/her first three picks from the board.

Finally, when the third match is made, the game is won by that player.  An additional $5,000 is awarded, and no money cards revealed from the big board, however, if a player makes an instant match to win the game, the $5,000 prize is also going to be doubled to $10,000 instead.  So a potential maximum for one game of $16,000 to be won instead of only $15,000.

Also, once one of the three contestants reaches 2 matches in a game, the new Pot of Gold game will be played.  Pot of Gold replaces the "Big Match" game.  Two halves of a pot of gold will be hidden among the 12 boxes.  It will be worth $2,500 plus $500 each day until won.  We'll go through the panel a maximum of three times.

First time - Player 1, Player 2, Player 3
Second time - Player 2, Player 3, Player 1
Third time - Player 3, Player 1, Player 2

If/when any player uncovers either half of the pot of gold, that player will get to pick one more box to try to find the other half to win that added bonus.

Buzzcodes from 01-99 will be used.  The player closest to the actual buzzcode will get his/her choice of three categories.  Categories will remain on the board until they are played.

In addition to that, the letters M A T C H will appear above the category board.  Point values hidden are 70, 80, 90, 100 and 110.

If a player is successful in completing a category contract, they will be awarded those points to spend at the matching board.

All categories will have 4 questions.  To win the points, a player must answer 3 out of 4 correctly.  A $500 bonus is awarded if a player answers all 4 correctly.  There is one exception however.

Each time, one of the category slides will hide a bonus card, and they will rotate.

TWO FOR FOUR - Meaning only 2 of the 4 questions in the given category must be answered to win the points.

TWO FREE BOXES - If a contract is made, the player must go to the board right away if they want to be able to use these free boxes.

DOUBLE POT - Doubles the value of the points selected for the specific category.

THREE FREE BOXES - If a contract is made, the player must go to the board right away if they want to be able to use these free boxes.
