Hi everyone,
Here are rules for my rendition of Star Words.
Star Words Rules
Players: 2 contestants and 2 celebrities
Rounds 1 and 2
The contestants and celebrities will be shown a set of five words in which the contestants and the celebrities will see one at a time. After three words have been shown, the contestants will send buzz codes (1-100) to ring in. The first contestant to do so will choose a pair of words that will help the celebrity come up with an association that fits the two words chosen.
Note: Contestants will be asked to submit their association via PM once they choose their two words. Contestants cannot buzz-in until at least three words have been revealed.
Once the two words have been selected, the celebrity will then attempt to come up with a word that is associated with the two words that the contestant has chosen to possibly match the contestant’s response. If the celebrity and contestant’s answers both match they will earn $100 and retain control of the board with the remaining words revealed.
If the contestant and celebrity do not match, the opposing team gains control of the board.
Final ShotOnce both teams each give a wrong answer, the round will end with the final shot in which both teams will have one final opportunity to make a match with the words on the board. If a team is successful, they will earn $250. If they fail to do so, then the round is over.
Round two will be the same as above with the celebrities and contestants changing places and the dollar values being doubled.
Final Round (Message Builder)
In the final round, both the celebrities and contestants will be on stage together to play the message builder round.
Note: The message builder round will be similar to the main game of Star Words predecessor, Get The Message.
In this round, the contestants and celebrities will alternate giving clues to a message which will be sent via PM (i.e. a person, place, thing, ECT). The clue giver in control will give two clues to their partner to help them identify the message. Three attempts for each player will be allowed to convey the message. (celebrities and contestants will alternate after each message). If the teammate is successful, they will earn $500.
Note: The values for each message will increase after each round from $500 to $2500.
Five messages will be played in the round. The team who has the most money at the end of the round will go on to play super star words for a grand prize of up to $50,000.
Super Star WordsIn super star words, the contestant and celebrity will work together to come up with a message based off of ten clues associated with the message. Before the round begins, a general clue will be given to the answer to the message (i.e. person, place, thing, Ect.). One at a time, the contestant and celebrity will select one of ten clues from the super star words board that will help them lead to the identity of the message being presented. If they can manage to get it on the very first clue, the contestant will receive $5,000.
If the team is unsuccessful, then the team will select another clue with $500 being taken away from the prize fund. Once the correct answer to the message is given, then the contestant will have the opportunity to play for ten times the amount of there prize fund. I.E. $5,000 x 10 = $50,000.
Star Words PlusIn this portion of the bonus game, the contestant will be sent off stage in an isolation booth in which the celebrity will be left on stage to be shown one final message in an attempt for the contestant to win ten times the amount of there prize fund.
Once the celebrity has seen the message, they will come up with three two word clues to help there partner get the message. If the contestant is successful by getting the message on any of the three clues, they will win ten times of the amount of their prize fund. If they fail to do so, then they will get to keep whatever they win in the first half of the bonus game.
Note: If the contestant can manage to get the message on the very first clue, then they will win double the amount of the prize fund (I.E. $50,000 x 2 = $100,000).
Contestants can stay on for a maximum of five shows or until they lose.
Sign-Ups for the pilot episode will occur sometime after the first week in September. In the mean time, feel free to let me know what you think about the rules and any suggestions that you think will help with the overall aspect of the game.
Thanks
