This past week, the BBC introduced a new quiz show called The Code. The object is to guess the three different digits in the combination to a safe containing a cash jackpot. To guess a digit, you must figure out which one of three answers is correctly matched to a question.
The game is played in three levels. When you find a digit in the code, you advance to the next level. In level 1, I'll show you three answers and three questions to go with them. You have to choose which one has the right answer attached to it. If you're right, you get to guess a digit in the code (see below). If not, the game is over and you leave empty-handed.
In level 2, you'll get the three answers, but you only get to see two questions at a time. You get to choose which two you want to see first. Once you do, you can either eliminate a wrong answer in order to see the third one OR if you're sure one of the first two is right, pick that one. In either case, if you're wrong, you're out.
In level 3, you only get to see one of the three questions at a time (again, your choice) and you have to decide whether it's right or wrong to advance.
The code contains three different digits from 0 to 9. When you find the correct answer in a set of three questions, you get to guess a digit in the code. If that digit appears in the code, I'll reveal it and you advance to the next level of the game. If not, no harm done. Either way, I'll show you another set of three answers and you'll have to pick the right one to get another guess.
If you can find all three digits in the code, you'll win the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and goes up by $5,000 each game it isn't won.
I'm not calling for contestants just yet--I have to compile at least 30 questions and answers, enough for a full game.
