At around 6 this morning, the abandoned house next door caught on fire. I'm pretty sure it was arson. Thank God I woke up and called 911 when I did. My house suffered some damage to the siding; however it is still safe to live in. Had I not woken up when I did, it could have been a lot worse! I woke up my roomie in the other room, and we got out safely.

You better consider yourself to be a lucky man. I hope you manage to stay for that was one of the wildest moments I think you ever had. Plus, you were so great to make sure that something was done about it.

Good work James! That is indeed quite frightening and unnerving to be sure. A place two lots down from ours was on fire a long time ago, and that in itself was too close for my comfort. Can't imagine what you went through today.
Thankfully nobody was injured, that's the most important thing. Property can be fixed or replaced, but lives cannot.
Best,
Bill
