Ian's been absent at least from this thread for a week. 'Fraid we're going to have to find a replacement player. First one of you to respond to this post will inherit Ian's $1500 he collected in the first game of the match.
Matt still leads in the money score with $2500 and it takes $5000 to win the match. Given the mathematics, you'd have to win two straight games to become the new champ.
Who wants to take over for Ian?

Matt, our challenger, has $2500. Ian, our returning champion, has $1500 -- including the $1000 he collected for rolling the first Crag in the match. This next game is worth $2500 to the victor and $500 to the runner-up. First to $5000 wins the match. Matt, if you win this game, you'll be the new champ. Ian, you need this game to stay in business. (ding)As we wish both players good luck, we're starting our next game with a single digit question -- and it goes something like this. Single digit question: In the original version of the classic video arcade game Pac-Man, the title character is being pursued by how many ghosts? 36 mastercards56 42 mjyr1 20 randomizer.org(Ian buzzes in)Ian?

You say 6 ghosts -- (scattered groans from the crowd) -- aren't we testy today? (scattered laughter from the crowd) Well -- let's see who's right and who's wrong. In the original video game, is Pac-Man being chased by 6 ghosts? (buzz) No, sorry, not 6. Matt, chance to steal. (ding) In the original version of the classic video arcade game Pac-Man, the title character is being pursued by 3, 4 or 5 ghosts?

One was red, one was sky blue, one was orange, and one was pink. Was there a fifth?
I think not. Go for four.

(scattered applause) They like that answer better. Is Matt right with 4 ghosts? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Our crack researchers note than in one of the spinoff games, called Pac-Mania, as many as 9 ghosts are in a 3-D maze chasing after Pac-Man. (rolling sfx)Matt, first crack at a Crag in Game 2's yours. Let's see what happens.

Very well, stopping here -- (scattered groans) -- much to the dismay of some in our audience. They wanted you to go for a Crag, Matt. But you're playing the game; they aren't. Matt and Ian are playing this follow-up query. Missing digit question: I'll show you the point value of the cherry on the opening screen of the original version of the classic video arcade game Pac-Man -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)41 mastercards56 86 mjyr1 46 randomizer.org(Ian buzzes in)Ian?

(time passes) (buzz buzz)Time's up. Sorry, Ian. Matt, chance to steal. (ding)And the choices come courtesy of the low straight. How ya like that? Matt, 1, 2 or 3 is the missing digit in the point value of the cherry on the opening screen of the original version of the classic video arcade game Pac-Man. Which one is the actual missing digit?

Definitely not the three. Either one or two, let's try 2.

Going with the 2. So -- (scattered groans from the crowd) -- someone call Sharon, the official Crag: The Numbers Game therapist. (scattered laughter from the crowd) These mood swings aren't healthy, folks. Just sayin'. Is the cherry worth 200 points -- or is their hunch right that Matt zigged when he should've zagged? (buzz)Just 100 points. The crowd was right. Unfortunately, they don't get two tries at the dice. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Matt still with the early 15-point lead as we start Round 3 -- and we move on to American history. Single digit question: How many different letters are in the final word of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech? 51 mastercards56 75 mjyr1 87 randomizer.org(Matt buzzes in)Matt?

I think it ended in "Let freedom reign."
So five?

He says 5 and the last word is "reign". At the least, does Dr. King's classic speech end in a 5-letter word? (buzz) Sorry, it doesn't. Ian, chance to steal. (ding)Choices come courtesy of the non-Crag 13 this time. How many different letters are in the final word of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech? Ian, is it 3, 4 or 6?

(times passes) (buzz buzz)Sorry -- that's time. What's the right answer? (ding)(scattered groans) *Another* close call from Matt. Four words in the final word of that historic speech. That last word was "last". Matt, when you miss, you don't miss by much. Challenger still with a 15-point lead. Round 4 starting with this. Single digit question: "Motown" and "the motor city" are nicknames of this Michigan city. How many different vowels are in the city's name? 27 mastercards56 30 mjyr1 35 randomizer.org(Matt buzzes in)Matt?

The city is Detroit. There's an E, an O, an I, so I think that makes three.

All right. At the least, is Matt right about 3 vowels? (ding; audience applause)Right *and* all over it about Detroit. (rolling sfx)All right, Matt, chance to pad your lead comes now. Let's see what you do with the Crag dice.

(times passes) (buzz buzz)Outta clock. Sorry, Ian. (ding)Matt, your chance to steal as the dice offer 2, 3 and 4 as possible answers. Was the 1997 PGA Championship won by Davis Love II, Davis Love III or Davis Love IV?

(scattered applause) They like that answer. Let's see if the 1997 champ's name is Davis Love III. (ding; audience applause)That's it. Good job, Matt. (rolling sfx)You have 35 points. Let's see how much more we add to your score.
