Greetings, all, and welcome to the "first proper episode" of the new Second Chance. Some notes are in order. - Evan Hatfield returns with one win and $8750. We're seeking two challengers to oppose him.
- As with real life pilots-to-series, there will be changes to the game. Least you need to know...
- When three spins are at stake on a question, no one can automatically score three spins upon a player's wrong answer (although this rule still exist when one spin is at stake on a second chance).
- Also, there will be far less spaces with money and an extra spin in the final round (any mystery space can still offer money plus an extra spin).
- Rather than calling them halves with a halftime quiz, we'll call the segments rounds (first round being around the horn, second round being the quiz to score spins, final round is where players spend/pass the spins scored from the second round).
Annnnd I think that covers it. Please visit www.dougmorris.net/sc for the rules.
And now for the qualifying question. The two players closest to the right answer, high or low, get to challenge Evan. The question.
On August 30, 2012, at 9:30pm Central, we watched a GSN rerun of "Family Feud". In Fast Money, two members of the winning family didn't reach the goal of 200 points. The family received how much money as a consolation prize? Please respond in increments of $5.We operate on 24-hour deadlines. Please respond in 24 hours from now.

Okay, let's see how the fam fared. They only got 125 points for 62,500 pennies. Who's the closest? $745 billmcdee
It's Bill McDee. Joining Bill and Evan is... $800 marc412
...Marc Enyedy. Now, random.org randomly assigned player positioning -- and...
[ EVAN ] [ BILL ] [ MARC ] < < 0 > > < < 0 > > < < 0 > > [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
...the champ's in podium #1, Bill #2 and Marc #3. Thanks to all for playing. We'll get going after station ID.
WXYZ DETROIT Voice guy: The latest on the Flint water crisis -- at noon. (opening theme) (camera takes wide shot of studio -- eventually zooming in on big board) Doc Holiday: Hollywood's most exciting game is back -- bigger and better than ever. It's time to go for big bucks on the all new... ...Second Chance! (audience cheers)And now here's our host -- who gives everyone a second chance -- Doug Morris! (audience cheers)Thanks, Doc, and helloooooooooo everybody. Great to bring back "Second Chance" to ABC's daytime lineup. If you watched our sneak preview over the weekend, you'll recall Evan Hatfield was up and down, then up, then down -- but worked his total up to a winning score of $8750. Evan's back today to defend his crown -- and here to oppose him are...
[ EVAN ] [ BILL ] [ MARC ] < < 0 > > < < 0 > > < < 0 > > [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
...Bill McDee and Marc Enyedy. (audience cheers)Warm welcome to all of you to this day's game -- and good luck. You'll need it. You're about to see why as we play our first round. It's a little something we call Around the Horn. We make three trips around the horn in this round -- with the first trip going straight down the line from left to right -- or from Evan to Marc. (board spins)When it's your turn, you may take the first of two spins on our big Second Chance game board. It's loaded with thousands of dollars in cash plus surprises. Those surprises come courtesy of the mystery spaces, denoted by question marks. On the first spin -- your assured of making money. And all you have to do to make money is push your button and say -- STOP! (ding)Not bad -- $800 for me. Now, if this were you, you'd have the choice of ending your turn and taking the $800 -- or decline it for the final spin of your turn. That's the second chance in this part of the game. (board spins)If you do take a second chance in this round, it *will* come with a risk -- because the bust spaces will be active. Those are the ones with the dollar signs crossed out. Anytime you land on a bust in this game -- STOP! ... (FF strike buzz)...that happens, the space's border will light up red, your score will be reduced to zero dollars -- and you'll pick up a letter in the word "bust". Collect all four "bust" letters -- and you'll be eliminated from the game. [NOTE FROM DOUG: If you're not seeing a red border around any bust space in an image that's not animating, please refresh your browser.]One more thing and we'll get going. The "big bucks" space represents anything from $3000 to $5000. (board spins)Evan, by the random assignment, you're up first. This first spin comes without penalty. So when you're ready -- stop the board. (Evan, please respond with "STOP" and a letter from A to O inclusive.)

Evan: It's only the first spin, I have little to lose, let's go again! (audience cheers)Doug: Gutsy move right off the bat. Roll that board, fellers, please. (board spins)Evan: C'MON BIG BUCKS... STOP! (ding)(scattered applause) Doug: Oh, you ended up $350 to the bad. But, $900's better than a bust.

Remember, player with the highest money score after three trips around the horn gets advantages in the rest of the game. Now it's time for one of Evan's challengers to play. Bill McDee, welcome. Here comes the first spin of the game for you. (board spins)

It starts with Bill, continues with Marc and ends with Evan. So, Bill, your first spin of this turn starts... (board spins)...right about now.

(ding)Stop at another mystery space. Let's see what's in store for you, Marc. (ding)(scattered laughter and groans) Seventy-five bucks. Well -- you could play it safe and take the $75 or take the second chance. Marc, if you do spin again, you will be risking the $1250 you have in your podium. What will it be?

Quick note, players. In this round, a mystery space cannot lead to a bust. But the final round's a different story. So with that, we conclude this round around the horn with Evan. (board spins)One stop of the board can put you in the lead.

Back down to zero and you have your first letter in the word "bust". With one more trip around the horn, Marc does lead with 2750 -- and Bill's in a close second with 2500. Last trip around the horn starts with Marc. (board spins)
