*This is where the episode begins before the massive spampede*======================================================================================================================================= Due to a massive spam-a-thon, I've decided to transfer today's episode of Gambit without any interference or interruptions. Here's what it looks like before the question is read. And here's the question before it went hiatus at BigJon's forum... Birdie, Bogey, or Eagle-- What do golfers call a score which is one over par for a certain hole?
Buzzcode answer: 74 1st: IAN (52) 2nd: GREG (35) [BUZZ-IN]Ian...?

Bogey is right. [DING, APPLAUSE]And since you're keeping the card, Lacey is gonna reveal your first card. Miss Von Erich...? Lacey: Ian's first card is a 6. [AUDIENCE GROANS...]Tony: The Blackjack Bonus is out of play for Ian... but there is still hope for the 21 bonus pot and the right to play the Tournament of Champions. Next question... Sam Shepard, Alfred Uhry, or August Wilson-- In 1987 and 1990, who won Pulitzer Prizes for the dramas Fences and The Piano Lesson?

You took the words right out of my mouth, Greg. And Ian is right. [DING, APPLAUSE]And since Ian is keeping the card, Lacey... please reveal Ian's next card. Lacey: It's a 5. Tony: Ian is either a 10 or face card away from going to the Tournament of Champions. Greg needs an Ace for the Blackjack Bonus. Next question... -42 °F, −45 °F, or -47 °F-- What was the lowest temperature ever recorded in California?

−45 °F is correct. [DING, APPLAUSE]You need a 10 or face card to win the 21 bonus pot of $4,500, a place for you in the Tournament of Champions, and the right to play Beat The Dealer for $1 million. Do you want to keep it or pass the card to Greg?

Lacey, please reveal Ian's next card. Lacey: It's a 2. Tony: That gives you a total of lucky number 13. Before I read the next question, you have a decision to make... do you want to continue the round or freeze?

Newspaper Advertising?
(I'll keep the card if I'm right)

Newspaper advertising is correct, Greg. [DING, APPLAUSE]And since you're keeping the card.... Lacey, please reveal Greg's next card. Lacey: Greg's next card is a Jack. [AUDIENCE GASPS...]Tony: You now have a total of 20. Before I read the next question, you have a decision to make. Do you want to continue playing this round or freeze?

20's enough for me. I'm freezing.

Lacey is now placing the freeze marker on Greg's 20. Ian... there are no ties in Gambit. The only way for you to win the match, the right to play in the tourney, and play Beat The Dealer... is to get an 8. You must answer each and every question right to stay in the game. If your answer is incorrect, Greg wins $500 and a tie game. Here is your next question. Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, or The Beatles-- According to the Popular Music Database which of these artists had the most weeks on the U.S. Singles Chart?

"The King of Rock and Roll"... Elvis is correct. [DING, APPLAUSE]You need an 8 to win $4,500 and the game. Lacey... please reveal Ian's next card. Lacey: It's a 4. Tony: You now have 17. You need another 4 to qualify in our Tournament of Champions. Next question... Coca-Cola, Seven-Up, or Pepsico-- What soft-drink company introduced the brand Slice?

Pepsico is right. [DING, APPLAUSE]You need a 4 to win the match and you're qualified to be in the Tournament of Champions and the right to play Beat The Dealer for $1 million. Lacey, please reveal Ian's next card. *Lacey reveals card* Lacey: It's a 6... [BUZZER]Ian is busted. So that means Greg wins the second round and a tie game! [WINNING BELL SOUNDS, WIN CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]After two rounds of play, Greg has $900 and Ian has $25,800. Coming up after the break, we'll go into Sudden Death. One of the champs will be playing for $1 playing Beat The Dealer. And will Ian win the match and advance to the Tournament of Champions. Find out when Gambit returns right after we do a little bit of business for North America. Stick around... we're coming back. [MAIN THEME][CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Lacey: Closed Captioning sponsored by--

*back to studio* Welcome back to Gambit. I have some bad news to tell you. Since my wireless mouse no longer works, I won't have the ability to use the board design. However, the show must go on. After two rounds, we have a tie game between the two champs. Our co-champ Greg have won the second round with a total of $900 while our co-champ Ian has won the first round and a cash total of $25,800. [DING]
This time, the 21 bonus pot is now $5,500 and the Blackjack Bonus is now $15,000. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Lacey is gonna reveal the first card in our tie breaker. Lacey...? Lacey: First card is a 7. Tony: Each correct answer, this time, is now worth $200 and whoever is closer to 21 earns an additional $1,000 and the right to play Beat The Dealer. If Ian wins this round, he'll be in the Tournament of Champions. Good luck to both of you. Here comes the first question in our tie breaker. Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, or Phoenix Suns-- In the film "Fletch", for what team did Fletch dream of playing?*You have 48 hours to PM your buzz-code between 1 and 100.
