All right. As long as you avoid doubles, you'll finish the round. (Frank rolls)(audience groans)(buzz)Arrgh! Double deuce. You don't get anything for a pair. Audience: Not in this game. Kourtney, good news and bad news. The bad news is you don't get to touch the dice this round; we've run out of rolls. The good news is you may take one free letter. Please select any numbered space.

(Korrina touches screen) Lady K gives you a K. Kourtney, also starting with K, would you like to guess the middle clue? If you're wrong or want to pass, another name game follows.

(dings; audience applause) That's it. Now, Kourtney, you have a chance to win the game and possibly the match. Based on that clue in the center and "um" at the bottom -- (scattered laughter from the crowd) -- you may try to solve the puzzle. As before, a wrong answer or a pass means we play a new name game.

Stab in the dark: Yahtzee?

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Jan 31, 2016 16:15:09 GMT -5
(audience applause) Sounds like you have some support from the crowd. For the game -- is it -- Yahtzee? (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers)You got it! Well done, Kourtney. Let's have a look at the rest of the board, please, because we sure didn't see much of the clues. (FF reveal sfx) Roll the dice -- yeah, you do that alright. Five of a kind or the titular scoring option of Yahtzee is worth 50 points in that fun game. This is a good time to note we prepared this puzzle long before we learned Greg Palmer, an executive producer on this project, is hosting a new version of Yahtzee in syndication. I know you'll join me in wishing Greg great luck on Yahtzee. (Paige places dice near Frank's buzzer) Kourtney, as for you, you'll have a shot at winning tens of thousands of dollars in cash as well as a new car. Frank, you have the high score of the day of $1500. You'll get to see if Kourtney can outscore you -- after Paige walks you to the comfiest chair in all the studio -- right there in the front row. We'll see you at the end of the show, Frank Driscoll. (audience cheers)Kourtney, it's money roll time. As I alluded to, you'll have to clear at least three numbers from the Lucky 7 game -- or roll a bunch of repeats -- to rack up $1500. But if you can clear 'em all, you'll win a bigger payoff. And as you know, it's determined by the money roll. Please take your money roll now. (Frank rolls) (audience cheers)Double fours. Fine to roll doubles on the money roll. We'll play that $40,000 game of Lucky 7 -- right after this. (theme plays; audience cheers) (theme plays)

(fade in) (cheers and applause)
Greg: Hi, it's me again. I just wanted to plug Yahtzee, which is produced right down the hall at Studio 31, when The Bold and the Beautiful aren't holding court there. Check your local listings for it, it's a lot of fun. Now, Doug's not here yet, so I'd like to have a quick word here with Kourtney. How are you liking this game?

I am definitely liking it a lot. I also saw your preview of Yahtzee and I am looking forward to come at my neck of the woods.

Well good. And thanks for the plug. Anyway, Doug should be here any minute now, so while he approaches, let's bring out Wally again! (theme plays; audience applauds) Now, all of you chat amongst yourselves while I exit. Until then, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. (I give the Dick Clark Salute and quickly make my exit)

Doug: (walking back into studio) Okay, I'm back. A member of the staff of Crag needed me for something. Did I miss anything? Ryan: (director; over loud speaker) Ohhhh -- nothing. (audience laughs and applauds) Doug: Means something really happened. Either the MMC girls talked or Palmer was here plugging "Yahtzee". Which was it? Ryan: (over loud speaker) Girls are still as quiet as church mice. So -- yeah -- Greg was here. Doug: Ah -- gotcha. Seriously, I like what Greg's doing with that show. Please check it out. Okay, we ready to get back to work? Ryan: (over loud speaker) Ready in five... four... three... two... (floor director cues Doug)
And we're back with Kourtney and Lucky 7. Kourtney, last time you played Lucky 7, you took us for $30,000 and later won the match. This time, more's at stake. You know how to play. You saw how Frank played it. Wally's already set the table for you. Wally shows us that you must score at least $1500 in Lucky 7 to stay in business. Wally's also given you the two tokens you've earned from the game -- one for winning, the other for solving the puzzle with just one clue fully exposed. You could collect up to two more tokens through the wild rolls of 3 and 11. If you manage to clear all seven of those numbers on Wally's screens, face that camera and tell us how much money you'll pocket.

(audience cheers) Clean house and your total winnings will exceed $70,000 in cash -- pending the car game to come. (Paige hands Kourtney the dice) Right now, concentrate on Lucky 7, Kourtney. You -- are on a roll. (more cheers) (Kourtney rolls) (audience groans) (buzz) Ooooh -- strike one. Shake it off. You can still make a lot of money here. (Kourtney rolls)(scattered cheers) That's more like it. (ding) $500 on the scoreboard. Paige brings back your dice. Roll 'em again. (Kourtney rolls)Rolled' another 6 combination. (ding) Up to $550. Keep on keepin' on. (Kourtney rolls)Dice total 5 this time. (ding) We say bye to the 5 and hello to another $500. Please roll again. (Kourtney rolls) (audience cheers) (cha-ching) Got a wild roll. Kourtney, decision time. Would you like a third token for Wally's car game -- or do you want to play this 11 as a 4, 7, 8, 9 or 10? (audience shouts suggestions)

(audience cheers) And with that... (ding) ...indeed, Kourtney has become our two-time champ. It's all gravy from here. You're still on a roll. (Kourtney rolls) (audience groans) (buzz) Well -- then that happens. One more strike and it's game over, Kourtney. Keep on rollin'. (Kourtney rolls)Another 4. Well -- (ding) -- that's $50 more. Up to $1600. Would be great to get a total higher than 6 without a double. (Kourtney rolls)Another 6. (ding) Puts $50 more in the coffers. Up to $1650. (Kourtney rolls)There we go -- an 8. (ding) Up to $2150, Kourtney. Three sums to go for $40,000, Kourtney. You can do it! (Kourtney rolls) (audience cheers) (cha-ching) Another wild roll -- the 3. Kourtney, knowing you've got the championship matter sewn up for today, would you like to clear out another number -- or take a third token for the car game? (audience shouts suggestions)

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Feb 2, 2016 21:02:51 GMT -5
(scattered groans) Kourtney's playing the game -- not you. (ding) The 10 would've been hard to roll naturally -- but easy to eliminate with the wild roll. Okay, two numbers to go for $40,000. Be careful of that third double (Kourtney rolls) (audience cheers) See? Clearing out that 10 earlier wasn't a bad idea. Because... (ding) (alarm goes off)...he's triggered Wally's shutdown timer *and*... ...left the easiest sum to roll on two dice -- the 7. (scattered cheers) Crowd, I'll tell you where you can send your notes of apology later. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Now, Kourtney, you'll have as many as five tries to roll a 7. You must do it naturally. The strikes still count against you. So if you exhaust all five rolls or roll a double, it's game over. But you're still at least $3150 to the good and you still have your championship. Audience, all will be forgiven -- if you start chanting seh-ven, seh-ven, seh-ven. (audience cheers; chants, "Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven!") Roll 'em when you're ready. (Kourtney rolls)(loud groans from the crowd) Close! A 6. Got $50 for that. Four more tries. Keep chanting "seven", folks. (audience cheers; chants, "Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven! Seh-ven!") (Kourtney rolls)Arrrrrgh! (buzz; NYSI89 losing horns; audience groans)And -- yeah -- Wally summed this up accurately. Derailed by the boxcars. Kourtney, you still have $3200 *and* a chance at more money or a car. Would that it's the latter. Wally, please set up for the car game. All right -- two tokens to play with. If you can cover a token with the screen that has the word "car", you win that Mercedes-Benz CLS550 Coupe valued at $79,735. All at once -- please pick two numbers.

Covering 3 and 5. Wally, please cover those numbers for us. (ding) There they are. Let's check number 3 first. Does he win the car there? (audience groans) (buzz) Negative. Well -- maybe you got the car with 5. Did he, Wally? (buzz; NYSI89 losing horns; audience groans)Durn. Well -- I'm tempted to play "what if?" again -- but the last time we played it, we had a heartbreak. Wally, where did you hide the car? (FF reveal sfx) Oh, that is ironic. Kourtney, you needed to roll a 7 in Lucky 7 -- and you needed to cover 7 here. Oh well. Good news is you still pick up more money, Kourtney. Each token you played is worth $500. So that's another $1000 in your pocket. Grand total of how much, please, Wally? (FF reveal sfx) (audience cheers) $35,200. And you'll go for your third win on our next show. But for now -- more fun's on the way when On A Roll returns after these messages. (theme plays; audience cheers)

(audience cheers) Welcome back. We've got time to spare and we'll play an audience game shortly. First, Frank, we thank you for playing our game. You take home $2500 and some fine gifts. Best of luck in your studies. Kourtney, you won more money in Lucky 7 than Frank. You'll be back to try to win your third match and add to your all-cash total, thus far, of $35,200. Now, Kourtney, tomorrow marks the last time we have that James Bond-themed Florida vacation and the Mercedes at stake. If you sweep both games tomorrow and win the car in the first half of the show, you'll get to play for the Florida vacation. Since the fine folks at the Brazilian Court Hotel want *someone* to come to their place and live it up 007-style, we're going to play an audience game for that Palm Beach, Florida weekend getaway. (audience cheers) Who wants to play? (Doug seeks audience game player as several hands go up) (MMC models walk Kourtney and Jay to the right side of the dice table)
[NOTE FROM DOUG: We'll bypass qualifying. First NGCer to respond and hasn't played in this episode gets to play]
