All deadlines are 48 hours and here we go. (cue intro) Rich: And now, a game of high stakes! Where every decision is a gamble and every move could be your last, High Rollers! (1987 main theme) And here's the man with all the action, Mark Liotta! (I come out to a tremendous applause from the audience) Me: Thank you, Rich. (Theme fades out) Welcome again to our show, ladies and gentlemen, and a happy 2016 to all of you out there. I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas because I know our players for today enjoyed theirs. Let's find out who our players are. Rich: Our returning champion works as a courtesy clerk and hails from Council Bluffs, Iowa; please welcome back Matt Riggenberg, who has a one day total of $31,600. And challenging Matt today is James Greek. Me: Well James, how did you enjoy your Christmas?

I enjoyed it! I got Gene Rayburn's biography written by Adam Nedeff for Christmas! However, I will not start on it until I finish an Arnold Schwarzenegger biography I started before Christmas!

Looks like you got some good stuff. I got a Sega Genesis for Christmas courtesy of my brother. But we're not here to compare gifts, we're here to play a game so we should get right to it. Rich, what do we have up for grabs in our first game today? Rich: Well, we want to start 2016 in style. So we're loading up all three columns with brand new cars! (MGHSH theme) In column one, A Mitsubishi Mirage DE Hatchback. Comes with standard equipment plus 1.2 liter engine, CVT and four wheel drive. That car is worth $14,905. In column two, a Chevrolet Trax LS. Comes with standard equipment plus 1.4 liter engine, six speed automatic transmission, four wheel drive and cargo tray. Retail value is $21,305. And in column three, a Honda CR-Z hybrid. Comes with standard equipment plus 1.5 liter engine, CVT, four wheel drive, paint sealant and fabric protectant. The Honda CR-Z. Retail value: $22,136. The total value of all three columns comes out to $58,346! (MGHSH theme fades out) Me: Now that's how you start a new year, ladies and gentlemen. All right, let's put the numbers on the board.
4 6 9 3 7 2 8 5 1
Hot column for our first game is column three, and here is the first question of the day. What pop music band originated in 1958 and consisted of brothers Robin, Maurice and Barry Gibb?

That's right and you get the first roll of the day James, so make it a good one.

6 and 4 are out of play and here's our next one. What video game character made his debut in the Game Boy game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins?

Also known as Mr. D'oh I missed! (audience laughs) If you folks watching at home have ever played Mario Party, you'll know what I'm talking about. But you certainly didn't miss there, James, so roll again.

You're right, and now there are numbers that you need to avoid. 4 and 6 are bad numbers and you can roll the dice or pass them to Matt.

If you win this round, James, you'll be driving out of here in that brand new car that Rich talked about earlier. But let's not worry about that right now. Let's focus on the next question. When the product which we call ice cream first made its appearance in the English language around 1673, it wasn't called ice cream. By what two word phrase was it called?

(boop boop boop) Add a letter D to the first word, leave the second word alone and you get iced cream. Iced cream was the answer there. Let's try again with another one. What Queen weighed 81,000 tons, was 310 meters long, and in 1938 won a trophy for making the fastest crossing of the Atlantic Ocean?

No, the Queen Mary. All right Matt, decision time for you. 3,5,8 and 11 are the four numbers that are still safe. Roll or pass?

I'll pass them.

All right James, you need to roll one of the safe numbers or else Matt will win the first game.

5 it shall be.

And here's the next question. If you have 40 coins, composed only of nickels and dimes, and worth a total of $2.25, how many nickels do you have?
