It's astounding A. the immense number of bowl games now that make up the college football post-season and B. that only 2 of the classic bowl games will be played on January 1st.
I realize I am an old man here, or sounding like one, but I miss the days when January 1st had the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Cotton Bowl. Those were it, and not polluted with corporate sponsors names. Even the granddaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl ended up being a sellout to a corporate sponsor.
That being said, I hope that those of you who love college football will enjoy all of these match-ups.
Seasons Greetings, Bill

It looks like that sponsorship is dominating for sure and that I will enjoy the first day, December 26th maybe, December 31st, January 1st, January 6th, hopefully the championship.

So far the bowls have not been much as Bill predicted. However, the New Era Pinstripe Bowl was the biggest so far with the game going to overtime and the Blue Devils winning in overtime.

I was wrong last night, the Holiday Bowl was a hgue classic last night until around 1:30 AM/CT on which the Trojans has one chance to beat the Badgers but they had blow it. Almost now, the start of the playoff semifinals will occur, and I will be back after the games.

They were not much at all and got dismal ratings for sure. But the top two teams are in the national championship. However, I should mention something that happened at the Rose Bowl: www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/stanford-cardinal-cow-iowa-hawkeyes-rose-bowl-010416 The Stanford band had a cow which was questionable, but the majority liked it.

ALABAMA WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BUT BARELY AGAINST CLEMSON I found out in another thread that the Crimson Tide won the championship (although I watched it). It came down to an onside kick for the Tigers and it went out of bounds.
