With Joaquin affecting the East Coast within the next few days, I've noticed a few members here, myself included, could be in its path. If I'm not online, it's likely because I lost power or my internet got knocked out.

Stay well and safe Kevin. It's uncertain yet whether my state/area will be affected so I too might be temporarily out of power, depending on its path. I hope not, especially after the wrath Sandy gave us 3 autumns ago.

Not playing your games yet? I find that comment to be a little insensitive, not just to me but for other people affected by the hurricane. I can't control what will happen in the next few days. If I have a schedule slip these days, that's due to my job. I can't be here 24 hours a day. |

I agree with Kevin. Zach, this is an environment where REAL people meet. At the moment, there is a giant twister baring down on some of them. Asking them trivial stuff like that, is trivial at best, and deeply insensitive at worst. I'm sorry, but I have no choice but to give you an official warning.
To Kevin, and all others in the path of the storm, I pray for you. Get to somewhere safe if you are not, and make sure you are battened down.

Thankfully all indications appear that this hurricane is blowing out to sea and most likely will not impact us.
But yes, people like Kevin, myself, and I'm sure others who live in the Northeastern part of the country endured and survived Sandy 3 Octobers ago. We were extremely fortunate, all that happened to us was we were without power for I think 48 hours at most, maybe 72 hours.
I was born in Trenton, New Jersey and Seaside Heights was a very important part of my childhood. I created memories there with many people who I love, many of which are no longer in my life, due to them dying or moving far away, so when Seaside Heights was pretty much destroyed by Sandy, it broke my heart. Quite honestly, I was already heartsick over Seaside Heights' downturn when the "Jersey Shore" element entered there. It seems highly unlikely that I will ever go back to Seaside Heights again. I'd prefer to remember it how it was, rather than how it is now.
A great many concerns still exist, and flooding is already occurring along the Jersey Shore and other parts also being affected, such as Toms River for example. I keep these folks in my thoughts and prayers.
I echo Kevin's sentiments and applaud him for expressing them as diplomatically as he did. I also thank you Cameron for your words and actions, especially for those of us who endured and survived Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.

Thank you, Bill. After seeing where Joaquin is headed, I think you and I can both breathe a sigh of relief knowing we won't have another Sandy on our hands
If you can believe it, I was in the 10% of Long Islanders who did not lose power to Sandy. When I think about the others here who did not get their power back for anywhere from a day to two weeks, I consider myself fortunate. I didn't come out completely unscathed, though. We had to get our roof replaced and one of our trees crashed into a neighbor's property.
We should also consider those poor people on the Bahamas who are still getting rocked by this storm. The impact and the horrors are still there even though the storm itself won't be by tomorrow.
And thank you, Cameron, for hearing me out. With the way the storm was tracking earlier, I just had to come out and defend those who could have been in Joaquin's path before it shifted.

I might be affected by this too.
Especially if I have a flash flood warning in the area.

I have to agree with John here. This is the second time in this thread that you have shown apathy to someone taking a leave of absence. People here are not willing to let others host their shoes that easily. If you're in a hurry to host a show, start out small. There's a practice area for testing if you want to get your feet wet. For now, the requesting to take over has to stop.

Zach, I specifically warned you not to post insensitive stuff like this again, and you go ahead and ask people if you can take their games. You know how to use the Private Messaging feature. Please USE IT! I'm sure a lot of this drama would've been saved, if you had used that, rather than post all this stuff on the open forums. I am going to delete your posts in this topic, and if I see that you have been posting similar stuff to members, I will have no choice but to take drastic action.
