It's the crossword game you've played all your life, but never quite like this!
4 Contestants will get to play, 2 in the first crossword round, 2 in the second.
In the crossword round there will be a maximum of 5 words to solve. For each, I'll give a clue like this:
"A Party in Herself"
One letter will be revealed in the word to start.
_ _ _ _ _ E
(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)
Then the remaining letters in the word will be shuffled and affixed to numbered tiles. The player in control will get to choose 2 numbered tiles, and the letters attached will be revealed, then that player will choose a letter to place in the word.
_ _ _ _ _ E
N_S
(1)(*)(3)(4)(*)(6)(7)(8)
If it's there, it will light up and the dollar value attached to the letter will be added to a puzzle bank.
_ _ N _ _ E
*_S
[$1500]
(1)(*)(3)(4)(*)(6)(7)(8)
(The answer to the above clue is "PINKIE")
Three letters that don't belong to the word will be shuffled in as well. These are "Stoppers" Placing one of these tiles in the word will cost you your turn. If the letter belongs in the word then the player will have a chance to solve the word or place the other tile. If a stopper is found the opponent can place the other tile if already chosen or "bring themselves to speed" by choosing up to two more tiles. If all 3 stoppers are pulled we enter "Speedword' Each player would then PM me the number of letters needed to solve the word. The last letter of the random letters at this point remains hidden If the word is solved (Spelling counts) Then that player wins the word. 3 words wins the game and all the money in the bank.Money is added to the bank as follows:
White Squares: $250
Blue Squares : $500
Pink Squares :$1000
The winners of the crossword games go on to the Scrabble Sprint for additional money and a chance at the bonus sprint
In this round there are two sets of words, Pink and Blue. There is no relative difference in difficulty. In each pack there are 4 words. One of 5 letters, one of 6, one of 7, and one of either 8 or 9 letters. Each pack has equal word lengths. The letters in each word are shuffled and placed behind numbers on the board
as the letters go in, the value of the word decreases.
1st word $2000 - $400 each letter
2nd word $3000 - $500 each letter
3rd word $5000 - $700 each letter
4th word $10000 -$1000 each letter
Incorrect guesses will be assessed at 20% Penalty at the end of the round, so 2 wrong guesses would cost 40% of the final score. (I derived this in that most players completed the speed round in 25-35 seconds, and 10 sec. penalties would be as proportionate) All letters are good in this round
Whoever completes their words with the most cash keeps the money and plays bonus sprint
2 words are given, 6 letters and 7 letters. The contestant has 6 letters total to solve both words. Incorrect
guess ends the round. 1st word wins $5,000 2nd word wins $50,000+$5,000 each show it's not won
Players stay on until defeated or winning 6 games. Winning 3 games awards a $25,000 vacation. Winning 6 games awards a $75,000 automobile or pair of automobiles. in the process. In total, a savvy player could go on to win over $400,000 in cash and prizes.
With all this said, I need 4 players. Who's ready?
