The first 2 cards placed in this round will add $500 to our players' scores, and $1,000 more to the winner of the round. John, time for your first Head Start card. Lynn? Please... (applause) The audience seems to fancy that Queen. What say you John?

Don't let her husband the King hear you saying that about her! Players in this round $100 will be scored for every correct answer you provide. This time however, all the answers will appear on a seek and find type board. The first player to ring in gets first shot at answering. Remember, in order for the answer to be correct, you have to provide three things, and all three things. 1. The line number upon which the answer appears. 2. The position number of the first letter of the correct answer. 3. The answer itself. Here's the board and question #1 of this round, for $100 and control of the next card... Famous singing folk and pop music trio from 1957 - 1967. And John is first to ring in.

That's the way to do it John! (applause) Another $100 for you John, and control of the next card. Lotsa low cards still in the mix, lotsa high cards still, and both Jokers as well. Lynn, John would really love an Ace or a Joker, and he would really love it... Now! (audience groans) A Jack. Unfortunately that won't fit in your hand John, so you have to use the first of those 2 discard chips. The beauty and the ugliness of most card games, Lady Luck. Perhaps she will smile on you for this next $100 question. For control and another $100, look at the board please gentlemen... If you have been tricked, you are said to have had something pulled over your eyes. What is it? And this time it is Evan who is first on the button.

Is right for $100! (applause) Evan, you have a 4 down low. Lynn, he'd love an Ace or face or Joker to place up high... Now! (lukewarm audience reaction) Now, if you place the 8 high, you'll keep both discard chips, but would only win with a 5, 6 or 7, or a Joker of course. That would give you 10 cards out of however many are left in the deck that would win for you. Evan, do you place the 8 high, or use your first discard chip?

The 8 goes bye bye, we'll see if either Evan or John can draw a better card for their respective hands. Next $100 toss-up question... Title of a roy Orbison song "_______ The Lonely". Evan is first again...

Is right for another $100! (applause) Evan still has a 4 down low, he'd love a face card, an ace or a Joker. Will he get one dealt to him by you Lynn? Let's find out... Now! (chattering in the audience) Well this time it's a 10 of Diamonds Evan, a little higher than that 8 that you discarded on your last turn. Do you wish to keep the 10, giving you a 5 card spread and preserving your last remaining discard chip, or do you want to use that chip and discard the 10, and put yourself in a no peek situation? It's up to you Evan, what do you say? (audience members shouting out indiscernible advice)

Another $500 for placing that card, and now Evan is just one card away from winning his third game. You'll win if you get control of the next card, and if that next card is a 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or Joker. Question #4 here in Round 3. John has some catching up to do... Here it is. Aniston or Love-Hewitt... And John is indeed first this time!

John has until tomorrow, Monday, August 18th, at 7:15am to provide the answer to the question, otherwise the question will go to Evan.

Correct! (applause) Another $100 for you John. Another $500 if you can place this next card low, and then we'll have a tie! Lynn, our friend John would LOVE an Ace or a Joker, we still have all four deuces in the deck too. Deal up John's next card please... Now... (moans from the audience) Well, that card would have been a dud for you too Evan. As it is, that card is yours John, and obviously you have no choice but to discard it, since we don't have any Jack and a half cards in the deck. That now means you're in... The dreaded NO PEEK zone. However, we're about to ask the 5th question of this round. So starting with question #6, if we get that far, we will have the FREE LOOK card in play. Meantime, here is question #5 players... Evan, you are first this time.

That is correct! (applause) Another $100 for Evan. Evan, if this next card is a 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or Joker, you will win your third game, and another $4,100 today. If it's a 4 or a 10, you'll earn another $100 and keep your discard chip. If it's anything else, you'll lose that last discard chip and you too will be in a No Peek situation. Lynn, a lot riding on this for both players. Let's find out if Evan wins his third game..... Now! (audience screams) No! Oh and that card was painful for John too, he would have LOVED to have received that 1 card ago... As it were, Evan, you obviously must discard that 2 and you now are also in a NO Peek situation... I never like this setup because I feel like the board is staring directly at me! We are also now past the 5th question. So from here on in, every answer will earn our players one free look to begin, meaning the first card they get to see, free of charge. If the free look card is no good however, then they will have to resort to keeping or passing the next card sight unseen. Here's the next toss-up question...for $100 and that all important control of the cards... Peter Parker in disguise... And it's Evan again with the slightly quicker reflexes.... Evan, your answer please.

Correct for another $100 Evan! (applause) And now we're in the "FREE LOOK" part of the round, so the first card you get to see for free. If it falls higher than a 4 and lower than a 10, you will win your 3rd game, $4,200 today and a very good 3 day total, plus earn your third trip to play LUCK OF THE DRAW for up to $50,000 additional! Lynn, so much riding on this for both players... Will Evan win game #3? Will John, his worthy opponent be defeated? Let's find out... NOW!!! Oh a wild card! That's a winner!!!! (theme plays) And Evan, in a moment you will indeed play LUCK OF THE DRAW for a chance to win up to $50,000 in cash! As of this moment Evan, you have a very fine total indeed.... $38,750!!! (applause) John, you were an excellent player, and you will be taking home $1,575 of Split Decision's cash. Thank you for gracing our panel this day, John Bergman everybody! (cheering & applause) And when we return, Evan Hatfield, who is already our biggest money winner, will try to become the biggest Luck of the Draw winner too...right after this! (fade to black)

(applause) Back here with Lynn and "Moneybags" over there. Evan has over $38,000 in winnings already, his to keep no matter what happens, but now is where the money can really add up quickly. Evan knows how it is played, but some of you may be joining us for the first time, so I will explain. First, Lynn has a brand new deck of freshly shuffled cards. As before it is a 52 card standard deck plus 2 jokers. Evan, please select at this time a number higher than 0 but lower than 54. This will represent how deep into the deck you wish to cut them.

|
Post by billmcdee on Aug 19, 2014 13:55:11 GMT -5
We will start by staking Evan to $1,500 of brand new money to bet with... (ding) Minimum bets are $250 at this time. Also all bets must be made in $50 increments at this time. Evan, you will be playing a maximum of five Split Decision hands, one at a time. The cards from Lynn's deck will in part determine your fate. Part of your fate you will determine by selecting four of the 15 numbered cards above me. On the board we have the cards 2 through King, plus 2 aces. After you reveal 4 cards, you will select the 2 that you think will help you the most, by placing one in the High rank and one in the Low. If Lynn's top card falls in between, you will win the amount of your wager. If not, you may lose your wager. I say "may" because you might earn a Second Chance, more about that later if we need it... After you tell me how deep you want the deck cut, I will ask you to select 4 numbers. Bear in mind one of the 15 cards is a Devil. If you select that card, that will make your odds perhaps not so good. Any time a devil is uncovered and if Lynn's card ties either your high or your low card, you will lose your wager. Also, and this is new, if the devil is picked and you lose your wager, the devil also prevents you from getting a Second Chance, so do watch out for him please. If you get a card that does tie, and you do NOT uncover the devil, the bet is neither won nor loss, it's simply a push. So Evan, when you're ready, and if you have no questions, cut the cards, then select your first 4 cards here in Hand number 1 and as always, the very best of luck to you!

Let's see what you drew here champ... (wild cheers & applause) That's the best you can do! Two aces and no devil! No decision to make really here. Ace high and Ace low, and wagering $1,500, let's see the card please Lynn... Now! Whoa! Just barely! But that's a winner! Second hand coming up. Evan you have $3,000. The 15 cards are reshuffled. Select 4 numbers and do that double Ace thing again!!
