Is right for $100! (applause) Evan with a King up high, would love a very low card to go with it. Let's find out. Lynn? Please deal Evan his next card... Now! (cheers & applause) A 3! I must ask, what do you want to do with it Evan?

Another $250 for you Evan, and a terrific spread there with a range from King down to 3. John and Raymond, you really want to buzz in and get control here. Question #2 of the round is a Missing Link. What 5 letter word links together CHEF and BAR? And it's Evan who is very fast on that signalling button who is first once again!

Is right for another $100! (applause) Another King or 3 will net you another $100. A 4 through a Queen, a very big spread, will win you Round #1 right here and now, as will a joker, and another $1,000, plus an automatic berth in our Championship Round. Only an Ace or a 2 would be unhelpful. Lynn, for $1,000 more for our champion, and the round, please deal him the next card... Now... (audience screams) No! And all 3 of our players anguish over that being an Ace, because John would have LOVED to have had that as his high card, and Raymond certainly could have used it as well! Tough break for you Evan, but that's why we stake you to those 2 discard chips. Still have 1 remaining for the round if you need it. Meantime, get another question right and win control and you could still possibly win the round on the next draw. Question #3 is a CONNECT A WORD. Similar to the game BOGGLE, I will read a clue, and it is up to you players to find the word and tell us what it is. All the letters connect either vertically, horizontally or diagonally... Here's the clue... A youtube video, for example, that is shared a lot and is viewed by millions of people is said to have "gone..." what? And it's Evan, the Fastest Buzzer in the West, who is in first again!

Is right for another $100! (applause) Once again, either a Joker, or a card from a 4 up through a Queen will win you the round, another $1,000, an automatic bye during round 2, and a trip to the Championship Round a little later on in the show. Lynn.....for the win.....deal up Evan's next card please... Now! (main theme begins to play) A ten is a winner!!!! (cheers & applause) So Evan Hatfield, our 2 day champion, showing us why he is, very fast on the buzzer, fast with correct answers, and some very good luck too gives him a winning hand here in Round 1. We'll take a quick time out, but when we return, it will be John versus Raymond in Round 2, the ELIMINATION Round! Back after these words of interest. Won't you please watch? Thank you!

(cheers & applause) Back here on "Split Decision". Evan is backstage watching the action unfold out here. Time to find out which of these 2 players, John or Raymond, will take Evan on in Round 3. In this round players, the first 2 cards you place will add $125 to your cash total. Toss-up questions and pushes are worth $50 this round. The winner of the round will receive another $500 as well. The player with the higher cash total gets to see the first "Head Start" card this time. John, that would be you. A reminder that we are using the same 54 card deck, and you can see the Cards Remaining in the deck courtesy of the screen above me. So John, let's have a look at your first Head Start card. Do you wish to keep or refuse... (wild cheers & applause) Well well! Obviously you will want to KEEP that Ace, just a matter of determining if you want to make it a HIGH or a LOW Ace John. Study the "Cards Remaining" board, and decide where you think it would help you best, HIGH or LOW?

Another $125 for you John. And now let's see Raymond's first Head Start card please... A 5. Would you like to keep that and place that in your hand Raymond, or do you wish to refuse it and see the next Head Start card instead?

And $125 for placing that card for you Raymond, both plaers now with a "Head Start". We'll give John his 2 discard chips in a moment, but first here's question number 1 of this round. Looking for a word in a word. The word is "TRUMPET", and the clue is... When a volcano blows its top... Raymond, you're the one who buzzed in first this time.

Is right for $50! (applause) Lynn, Raymond has a 5 down low, so he'd love a nice high card, perhaps a face card, or an Ace, or one of those Jokers even, and he'd love it... Now! (moans from the audience) Well, obviously that 3 is no good to you in this hand Raymond, so that will cost you your first of 2 discard chips... Let's move onto question 2 of this round. This category is INITIAL THOUGHTS. To get the $50 and control of the question, you must provide ALL of the answers to this. Replace the initials with the word or words needed to make the statement correct. There are 50 S and 13 S on the AF. Raymond was first again to buzz in.

That's what we wanted! (applause) With a 5 established as his low card, Raymond would love to see a high card or a joker. Both Jokers remain in the deck, as do 2 of the Aces, and 11 Face cards. Let's see if Lynn can deal up one of those cards for Raymond... Now... (some moans and mumbling in the audience) Well, it's an 8. If you keep it and place it high Raymond, you can see from the board above me that only 8 cards would win for you. If you discard it, you will be in a NO PEEK situation quite early in this round. As you know, if you are in a NO PEEK situation, any time you get an answer right, you cannot see what the next card is in advance, rather, you'd have to decide if you want to keep it or pass it to your opponent. So with all that information before you Raymond, do you keep the 8 and place it high, or do you discard it and put yourself in a NO PEEK situation? Difficult decision....a SPLIT decision you might say, sounds like half of the audience is saying keep it and half saying discard it.... but it's up to you and you alone Raymond...

I can't say that I blame you Raymond. A 2 card spread in this game isn't much of a spread at all. For the next 3 questions, if Raymond wins control of the next card, he will have to decide whether to keep it or pass it to John. Raymond, if you keep a card, and it's a 2, 3, 4 or 6, John will win the round by default. Question #3. IN OTHER WORDS.... Past tense of Alan Alda CBS sitcom that took place in a Korean hospital / Spuds Raymond is first again on the buzzer.

Is right for another $50! (applause) Decision time now Raymond as you're in a NO PEEK situation. You can keep the next card and hope it can be placed high, or, if your instincts and intuition tell you otherwise, you may pass this next card onto John. If you keep the next card and it is a 2, 3, 4, or 6, John will win the round by default. Look at the "Cards Remaining" board and decide if you want to keep the card or pass it.

Keeping the card. Lynn, he wants, and actually NEEDS a 7 or higher, otherwise Raymond will be eliminated. Deal up Raymond's next, and perhaps last card... Now! (audience screams) OH NO!!! (buzzer) And John wins Round 2! (theme plays) ((shaking my head)) Oh Raymond! I am truly and genuinely sorry that fate did not smile upon you. So many cards that would have fit, and it just wasn't meant to happen. However, you did pick up $275 in our game, plus, a $500 gift card courtesy of our friends at Target, compliments of Split Decision! Raymond, thanks so much, you were a terrific player... Sometimes it works out that way, one player does all the work as it were, in answering questions, but if the cards don't comply, said player has to go bye bye... But John, this worked out nicely for you, you win Round 2, another $500, so you now have $875, and you'll be heading into Round 3, the CHAMPIONSHIP Round, against our 2 day champion Evan Hatfield. Who will emerge victorious and advance to the Luck of the Draw endgame, for a chance at $50,000? You won't know unless you stay tuned! (applause & fade to black)

(theme & applause) FRANK CALIENDO - If you would like to be a contestant here on "Split Decision", contact us online at: www.nbc.com/splitdecision/contestantsAnd now, back to Round 3 with Bill McDee! (applause) I thank you Frank, and I thank you all kindly. Well, here we go, it's the Championship Round. Evan this is your third go at it, and John is going to try to dethrone you. As before, a maximum of 2 Head Start cards for each of you. If you decline the first you get to see the second. If you decline both, there is no penalty, you simply won't have a head start going into the round is all. Evan, since you won Round 1, you get the first card for your consideration...Lynn, please... It's a 10. You can keep it or refuse it and see what the next card is instead. What do you say Evan?

That's true, if we're talking about girls, a "10" is perfect, but in cards, it's a whole different story. And speaking of girls who are a Perfect 10, Lynn, won't you please deal up Evan's second Head Start card... Now... (applause) The audience seems to approve of that 4, but it's Evan's decision. What do you say Evan?
