M for McDee...That's me. Q&A. I'll simply ask a question, and you must answer it.
Please look at the screen Raymond. For $100 and control of the next card...
The answer must be posted no later than 4:30am EST on Friday, September 18th.
Also Raymond, if you can, along with your answer, please indicate if you will wish to keep the next card or give it away.

You are indeed correct for your first $100 Raymond! (applause) And rather than keep the card, Raymond's gambit is to give it to Kourtney. Let's see what that next card is please, Lily... A 9, which would have given Raymond a vulnerable 13, instead Kourtney has a vulnerable 14 instead, and a decision to make... Under the rules of Gambit P.M., whenever a player receives a card that puts them in the lead, and gives them a score higher than 11, they have the option to freeze. Kourtney if you freeze, Raymond would need 15 or better to win. If you elect to continue however, you will not be allowed to freeze again until you receive another card, and that card would have to put you into the lead again. Interesting decision since Raymond has a 4. No ties on Gambit remember, so if you freeze on 14 Kourtney and Raymond's next card is a 10, he would have to continue playing. Also, Raymond would have to keep coming up with correct answers, or select the "Free Card" space to get more cards. Kourtney, with all that laid out before you, do you want to freeze on 14, with the knowledge that an 8 or more would put you over, or do you want to take a calculated risk and continue?

This is going to be a rough go. I am going to take my chances and freeze and hope he goes over.

That protects your position and forces Raymond to go on the offensive now... Raymond, the question board awaits... Everything is reshuffled again and even yours truly does not know which letter has which type of question. Which letter do you take Raymond?

Rightio for another C-note! (applause) If the next card is any one of the four Aces in the deck Raymond, you'll win this first game of the match. Lily? (gasps in the audience) A big old Queen that time, worth 10, and giving you 14. And back once more to the question machine Raymond... The 6 letters in GAMBIT lit up, each one holds a question card or a command of some sort. All reshuffled. Which letter do you want Raymond?

And "G" has... Oh nice! $100 and a FREE card Raymond! (applause) No questions to answer, you just have to hope that this card is a 7 or less, and of course a 7 would win you $1,000... Everything rides on this card... Lily? picosong.com/fTwB/TOO MUCH! And the game goes to Kourtney!!! picosong.com/3zeF/During the first match on Gambit P.M., only the winner of the game receives money for their winning score, $25 multiplied by it, so another $350 goes to you Kourtney. When we return, Kourtney will be playing a brand NEW mini bonus game called INTUITION...He had very good intuition in freezing to win this first game. Let's see if that carries over, right after this!!!

(In spite of my recent announcement, I'm wanting to continue this episode, and thank you all for your kind patience and support, especially Kourtney & Raymond)
(Kourtney, if you would be so kind as to check in when you are able to please, we can begin the next segment and play "Intuition")

We are back with our game #1 winner Kourtney. $650 you won in that first game, yours to keep. Now you'll be playing a new mini-bonus game for $1,000. This game is called "Intuition". You will be playing against the house. If you score exactly 21, you will win $1,000. If you go over 21, you will win nothing. If the House reaches 21, you win nothing. You must score higher than the House, without going over 21 in order to win the $1,000 bonus. To represent numbers flashing randomly from 1-11, I have a deck of 11 cards, each with the numbers 1 to 11 on them. After each decision and selection you make, they will be reshuffled. In a moment Kourtney, I will ask you to select a number at random. Before you do that, I will ask you if you wish to keep the number or give it to the House. That's why this is called "Intuition". The 11 cards are shuffled. Each one is represented by a different letter, A B C D E F G H I J K I need you to tell me two things Kourtney. 1. Do you wish to keep this first number or give it to the house? 2. Select one of those 11 letters. Once the House reaches 17 or more, it cannot receive any more numbers.

I will keep the first number and K will be the letter.

And you have kept... A 4. Numbers are jumbled up again Kourtney. Select any letter A B C D E F G H I J K and tell me if you're keeping the next number or giving it to the house. Incidentally if you're able to cause the house to go over 21, you'll win too.

I will pick a and give to the house.

And to the house shall go... Oh my! A big ol' eleven! Now, if you elect to give the House the next number, and it is another 11, which is possible, the House would bust and you would win. But many good numbers would help the house too. Kourtney what does your Intuition tell you to do this time? Keep the next number or pass it to the House? After you tell me what your intention is, please select a letter - A B C D E F G H I J K

Didn't want to give the house that... I am going to take the next one and select F.

And this time the randomizer stops at... (gasps in the audience) Oh my another 11! If only your intuition were to have given that to the house instead! Now you're at 15, a vulnerable position Kourtney. 6 numbers will help you, but 5 others will put you over. A B C D E F G H I J K What does your intuition tell you this time Kourtney? Are you keeping the next number or giving the next one to the house? Select a letter please.

Let us hope it is less than 7. Let us hope it's a 6 exactly! A 5!!! Giving you 20 now Kourtney! (numbers start to jumble again) I have to ask, are you keeping the next number or giving it to the house? A B C D E F G H I J K, please select a letter as well Kourtney.

And you stopped the randomizer at... 8!!! You win!!! picosong.com/3zeF/Well Kourtney, your intuition was good in winning game 1 of the match, and it continued to be good winning our inaugural game of "Intuition". That's another $1,000 in cash for you. We'll take a time out. When we return, we'll have game #2 of this match to determine who will go on to play our reigning champion! Please stay tuned.

Bill, I keep seeing "That's me!".... is that a parody of you doing "Butters" on South Park, or am I imagining things?!

Post by billmcdee on Sept 29, 2015 5:40:45 GMT -5
No. Not a parody. To be honest, I've never watched a single episode of "South Park".
The "That's me!" reference is paying homage to Groucho Marx who would often say that after he was introduced on "You Bet Your Life".

Sorry for the delay players. Due to my schedule (both daily and weekends of late) I've not been able to update.
Usually when I would arrive home from my job, I would do so but lately I seem to be plagued with a great deal of fatigue. I napped 3 hours when I got home yesterday, then it was time for dinner, then sleep again.
As I write to you now it is 11:30 in the a.m. here on the East Coast. I am writing you from my office real quick. I am experiencing more fatigue big time today so when I arrive home in 3 hours from now, I'll be napping again for a few hours.
I began taking a multivitamin in the morning and it seemed to help for a time. Lately not so much.
The weather has been gloomy of late, plus I'm semi-stressed about the future of my job, having to get a replacement vehicle within the next 2 weeks, and my niece about to give birth to her first child as well.
All of these factors have rather eroded away my vim, vigor and energy of late so this is why there's been a lot of delays and dragging of late with updating Gambit P.M., since your humble host himself is dragging.
Hope to update soon, but cannot make any promises.
Wearily yours, Bill
