Recusing myself MG/HS Hour Part 2

I just wanted to clarify why I felt rather slighted to say the least.

When the contestant selected me for the head-to-head match, that was their prerogative to do so.

When the comment "Are you kidding me?" was made 30 minutes after my having been selected, that what disrespectful toward both the contestant and me.

Greg then followed up stating he gave Mark the win.  The last time I checked, this was a panel show, and all of the participants helped contribute to wins and losses.

Subsequently, the contestants' choices to agree or disagree are what give contestants the win.

I have tried to always be respectful.  I have given blessings to Darion for DiceWords.  I have tried in the past to offer a few visuals to Greg as well, which were met with lukewarm responses at best.

Sadly, the contestant felt pressured into changing his selection.  It did work out better for the contestant, and I am glad of that at least.

Being made to feel disrespected as I did, this is why I am recusing myself from participating on further episodes.  I have always tried to maintain at the very least a modicum of respect for others.  That the same consideration could not be afforded me was very disappointing to me.

I just wanted to clarify this situation.  Try to put yourself in my place and ask yourself if you wouldn't feel similarly, especially if you tried to offer support and encouragement to others.

I'm the center square, and I'll admit that has given me a bit of an ego. Let's think about this, though. It's sudden death. I was the celebrity chosen. Mark's agreeing or disagreeing depended on my answer.


I'm trying to recall the last time you offered me visuals, Bill. Was it Break the Bank, or was it the finale of the syn Card Sharks?


In any case, I feel partially to blame for this. Tony has assured me, though, that it was his fault. (All this comes from a FB conversation)

I've just thought of a solution. Bill, since Tony is still out, I was planning on hosting Hollywood Squares next episode. I could let you be Center Square if you wish.

Very kind of you Greg, both your reply and your offer of a center square position.

To that invitation I graciously accept.  The main thing was the original comment made that left me feeling rather dumbfounded and led me to the conclusion that perhaps my presence on Match Game Hollywood Squares was no longer wanted.

As for the lukewarm comment, that actually related to the old boards when I had attempted to do the Strike It Lucky screens was all.

I did thoroughly enjoy "On A Roll" and do enjoy your other games immensely.
