Okay, it's Matt against Ian in this game. All deadlines are 48 hours, so let's get this show on the road! (intro) Rich: And now, a game of high stakes! Where every decision is a gamble and every move could be your last. High Rollers! (1987 theme) And here's the man with all the action, Mark Liotta! (I come out to a tremendous applause from the audience) Me: Thank you. Thanks, audience, and thank you Rich. (Theme cuts out) Welcome once again to our show ladies and gentlemen. We had a down to the wire moment in our bonus game yesterday with Ian down to one number left and two insurance markers. Even though he wasn't able to do it, he did give us an exciting ride. I don't know what's going to happen today, but we will soon find out over the next 30 minutes. Rich, introduce us to our players if you please. Rich: Certainly, Mark. Our returning champion is Ian Sherman, who has accumulated a one day total of $34,709. And opposing Ian today is Matt Riggenberg. Me: Welcome aboard, Matt. Now folks, Matt appeared on our show quite frequently last year and so he is certainly no stranger to our show. Matt, how do you feel about your chances on today's program?

Well in that case, let's go ahead and begin our match. You both know, of course, that whoever wins two out of three goes on to the Big Numbers for a chance to win $25,000 in cash as well as a new car. Let's take a look now at some prizes the two of you could go home with today. Rich: In column number one, a brand new television. This 55 inch 4K LED 3D HD television includes 2 pairs of glasses and retails for $3,000. In column number two, a trip to the Galapagos Islands. You'll fly round trip coach from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos Islands for a 6 night stay in a room at the Hotel Solymar Galapagos. Retail value: $9,596. And in column number three, a new waverunner. From Yamaha, the V1 waverunner includes 1052cc 4 stroke engine, trailer and life vests. Retail value: $8,864. That makes our game one board worth a grand total of $21,460. Me: Definitely some good prizes there to start off our match. Let's get the number loaded up.
3 5 9 8 6 4 7 2 1
It looks like we do not have a hot column for this first game, and that does happen sometimes on our program. But hopefully it won't stop our players from getting their hands on those prizes Rich just talked about. All right, here comes our first question of round one. The game that we call baseball here in the U.S. was derived from what children's game in the United Kingdom?

Let's take that six off the board.

Next question coming up. In what city in Japan would you find the Nintendo headquarters?

You would indeed find it in Kyoto. All numbers are still safe, so roll the dice if you please Ian.

Very well.

And here's our next question. What building was designated a City of Seattle landmark in 1987?

The Space Needle?

No, it was the Bank of California Building. The Space Needle wasn't designated as an official landmark until 1999. Why they have a Bank of California Building in Seattle, I haven't the foggiest. Ian, roll those dice please.

(Matt already buzzed in and got the answer correct; pay attention, please) 5,2 and 1 come off and that clears column two.
3 X 9 X X X 7 X X
And Matt, you can say hello to the Galapagos if you win this first round. Who was the first person to achieve a perfect score in the Pac Man game?
