Greetings, all. With Greg Palmer's blessing, he's passed the baton, the dice and the hosting duties of "On A Roll" to me. Custody of Wally is in negotiation. But seriously, I've helped Greg in writing puzzles for this fun series -- and I look forward to hosting this in September. As for how this affects my plans for The Jackpot Game, I do plan to finish out the current pilot episode (maybe truncate it slightly) -- and then put it on the back burner. My plate's pretty full between Crag, Chain Reaction, the MG half of MG-HSH and either Jackpot or On A Roll. Special note for Jon Darrall: I'm pleased to tell you your championship reign and winnings of more than $500,000 in cash and prizes will be recognized -- when OAR resumes.

That's right. I can't be hosting both Wheel and OAR. Plus, when I finish with Trashed, I can find some new projects. It was a lot of fun hosting the show, but I'd like to keep it fresh. (Sign me up for a celebrity edition, though! I'd love to play.)
As for Wally, if you can make him work for you, then I suggest you keep him.

Good luck to Greg, who WILL continue to do Sale of the Century, on the new Daytime WoF, and here's hoping Dougie Fresh (best nickname I can come up with, Doug) can make On a Roll as big a success as it was with GP at the helm (although considering his success with previous net games like Net Poker, Crag, etc., then he'll have no troubles whatsoever).

Oh, I can just see the promo now.
"This fall, we'll teach you how to Dougie. Doug Morris takes over On A Roll."

As bad a dancer as I am, I don't even try to Dougie in real life.

I made up some visuals a while ago for "On A Roll". When I return next week, if you are interested that is, I'll be glad to share them with you Doug to use as you wish.
Best, Bill

Brief update: Greg, Tony and I are in a dialog on building the new On A Roll. One of the new wrinkles I'm adding is, in some respect, a throwback to the unsold pilot. Instead of toss-up questions, we play name games to determine control of the four rolls of the dice. Rather than display someone's last name one at a time backwards, I'm taking a page from "Who's Still Standing?" by randomly displaying roughly a third of the letters in the person's surname like this... W--H---T--
...and then giving a clue -- which would read like this. He got on a roll -- when he became America's first President. Then, a player would signal and correctly identify... WASHINGTON
...and -- eh -- trust me -- the name game presentation will look better when On A Roll is back up and running. Much work is ahead in the meantime. Can't wait for the September debut to get here.
