NEW Pricing Game - "Set The Prices"

When I premiere "Showcase Showdown" this Fall, I plan to have a few custom made pricing game wedges on the Pricing Game Selector wheel.

One of these, thanks to the permission he has already given me, will be "Fill 'Er Up", a pricing game created by Bill McDee.

Another is one that I've created out of a combination of a few other existing pricing games and it's called "Set The Prices". I'd like to test out a playing of it. Anyone game?

That electronic game has two digits in its price. The camera has three digits and the truck has five digits. That's a total of ten digits and those ten digits are right there on the board. Each appears only once in one of the prizes. You set the prices right, you win the prizes! This is an all or nothing game though, so you will win 'em all, or you'll win nuthin' at all!

I'll give you three chances at it and I'll help you as we go along by highlighting numbers that you have in the right spot.

No, he hasn't, not yet at least. You have two more chances at it Kourtney, but before you set the prices a second time, we're going to give you a little help by highlighting the numbers that are either exactly right or close to being exactly right. Let's light up those boxes please!

Well Kourtney, as you've probably already deduced, green boxes highlight numbers that are exactly right, meaning they are in that price and in the right spot for that price. The orange boxes are numbers that belong in that price, but in a different position. The boxes that remained white are numbers that do not belong in that price.

Digest that information for a moment or two and then let's try again, beginning with the electronic game. We now know that it is indeed twenty-something dollars but the price does not end in a five, so you need to replace the five with one of the other six boxes that remained white as the right number is one of those numbers.

So, think it over Kourtney and then tell me what you want this time for the price of that game please.

Okay well I don't want you to waste this turn, we already know that 8 is not the first number in the price of the truck, so your first two are fine if you want to keep them but try again with the truck.

At the way I was pricing the truck, I could have bought two of them. 😂 the game is definitely was fun. It reminded me of Mastermind, Bullseye I, and Add em Up: 😀 I do feel that torn with the amount of chances a player between keeping it at three or increasing to five especially with a high price vehicle up for grabs. You don’t want it to be to easy to give the vehicle away but you want it to be able to be impossible.

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! I think 5 chances would be too easy, but perhaps I could incorporate something like Pass The Buck where you get one guess for free and maybe a chance to earn three more guesses for a total of 4.

I like that idea. Get a free chance and and earn some more with pricing items. I think I was thinking top of the line but not lower end.
