Here we go, everybody.... (SPLIT SECOND THEME) Ladies and gentlemen, This is Matt Ringgenberg from Council Bluffs, Iowa. He will be battling it out against these two other contestants in a game of knowledge, stragedy and speed. Only one will have a chance to win this beautiful brand new Cadillac worth over $40,000 and a cash bonus of $11,000. TODAY ON..... and here's your host: JOHN BERGMAN. (APPLAUSE) Thanks, everyone and welcome to SPLIT SECOND, the classic game show with more money, more interesting questions and a beautiful brand new car at stake. On our last show, our champ, Matt, did not win the car, so we still have it as well as $11,000 in cash to give away. Let me out three contestants, starting with our champ, MATT. (APPLAUSE) MATT, welcome back to SPLIT SECOND, how are you doing?

I do understand, MATT. Remember that if you do win this main game today, you have a one in four chance at picking the right key to win that beautiful Cadillac behind us. However, there are two contestants here to try and stop you from doing that. First is KEVIN.
(AUDIENCE APPLAUSE)
KEVIN, welcome to SPLIT SECOND, tell us about yourself.

Well I'm Bill McDee, age 47, from the Keystone state of Pennsylvania. Been married for over 23 years, have a son who is about to turn 15. I'm a data entry clerk for a pharmaceutical research firm, I've been doing that for over 15 years now. I'm an avid game show fan, especially of 70s game shows, including Split Second. I'm very glad to be here and I thank you for having me!

Well, it's a pleasure having you here as well, BILL. I have to agree with you, the 70's was a boom time for the genre we love. Any other game shows that you are a fan of?

Oh mercy yes. Scrabble, $ale of the Century, Blockbusters, Three on a Match, Card Sharks (except the 2001 version), Gambit, Las Vegas Gambit, The Joker's Wild (1972-86 edition), Tic Tac Dough (1978-86 version), Top Card, Pay Cards, Super Pay Cards, Press Your Luck, Match Game, Hollywood Squares, Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour, The Price is Right (naturally), Let's Make a Deal (although I prefer the 30 minute Hall version, Brady's is alright), Wipeout, Password Plus, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud (Dawson and Combs versions 1976 - 1991 or 1992, prior to Bullseye round), Chain Reaction, I'm sure there are many more I left out, oh yes Play the Percentages, the first version that had married couples, Jackpot (Edwards NBC version), Whew!, just to name a few

Hello, and welcome back to SPLIT SECOND. Before we start our game, we have to know the rules, of course, and this is how we play:
I'm going to show all of you three parts to a trivia question on our board. Each of you will only be required to give me one answer in the first two rounds and each of you will buzz-in and the one who buzzed in first will have the first crack at the answer, then the second player, and then the third.
The amount of money you get for each correct answer is determined on how many of you give me a correct answer:
If all three of you give me a correct answer, then each of you will get $25 apiece; if only two of you give me a correct answer, then each of you will get $50 apiece. However, if you are the only one to give me a correct answer, then you will gets $100. Also, if you are the FIRST person to be the only one to give me a correct answer, we called that a SINGLETON, then, win or lose the main game, you'll win a nice prize. Tell them about that prize, Sandy.
It's a AIR CONDITIONER worth $500.
(APPLAUSE)
A very, very nice prize indeed. Now, also, in either the first or second round, we'll have a special question called a MEMORY BUSTER and I'll explain that when we get to it. Any questions?

In that case, here we go and I wish everyone the best. First, take a look at the board: Pick one of these rock groups and tell me, TRUE or FALSE, was multinstrumentalist Steve Winwood a member? KEVIN, you are first.
