Alright friends, the time is nigh. "Break the Bank" on CBS daytime debuts as soon as I get two players. Actually one player, as James Greek has already consented to be the first contestant.
Who would like to challenge him? Once I get a challenger, we'll get this game going.
If either of you have questions about the game, let me know. The rules will be explained as the show progresses.
Also, these episodes might "straddle" meaning time could run out in the middle of a game or even the middle of a bonus round for that matter.
Thanks!
Bill

Frank Caliendo - Three of these boxes will break the $10,000 bank. Is this one of them? Or perhaps this one? And maybe this one? We'll find out in a moment in this game of hide and seek as our contestants today try to..... Break the Bank!!! (cheering & applause) And now from CBS Television City in Hollywood, meet our host... Bill McDee! That's me! A very pleasant good morning to you all, and welcome to the newest game seen here on the CBS Daytime lineup, the return of "Break the Bank". We have two very eager contestants who want to break that bank, and win that $10,000 prize, not to mention a chance to win possibly $15,000 or more in our brand new end game, so let's meet them now shall we! And seated to my right, or stage left, our player in red, James Greek, and to my left, or stage right, our player in blue, Matt Ringgenberg! (applause) James, I have to ask as curiosity has gotten the better of me. Is your last name of Greek actually of Greek heritage?

Actually it started out as Groek which meant people from Greece. But changed to Greek after someone from Greece moved to the United States.

Very interesting indeed James. Here's hoping you have much more financial success here on our show than they seem to be having right now in Greece.
Matt Ringgenberg, a supermarket clerk from Council Bluffs, Iowa. Sounds like a very quaint and friendly town. Is it a relatively small population there Matt?

If I recall correctly it's not too far from Omaha Nebraska, so it would stand to reason your hometown has a pretty large sized population as well. Here's hoping they are watching!
Gentlemen I wish you both good luck today.
The bank, waiting to be broken, is set at $10,000 and increases by $1,000 per game until won.
And we will begin that $10,000 game, immediately following these words of interest!

Welcome back one and all to "Break the Bank". Here's how this will work. Before you is an example of what a typical board set up might look like... You'll notice the three different money amounts, $500, $750 and $1,000. All three $500 cards touch one another on at least one side, same with the $750 money cards and the $1,000 money cards. The first player to capture three like money amounts will win the game and win the total of those money cards, meaning $1,500, $2,250 or $3,000. You'll also notice there are 5 money bags scattered about. Money bags may or may not touch on at least one side. If you uncover a money bag, you can claim it instantly or refuse it. If you claim it however, you forfeit control of the board over to your opponent. If you capture three money bags, you win the game and Break the Bank which is worth $10,000! (applause) One very important rule change however. While the first 2 money bags you can keep, to claim the third one you have to answer a question correctly. Also on the board is a Wild Card, and that can be used as any money amount or as a money bag. Lastly, there are 5 blanks hidden somewhere on the board. The blanks do not touch each other on any sides. If you pick a blank, control of the board goes over to your opponent. We have a two loss elimination rule so if you lose one game, take heart because you'll get to play in the very next game. Finally, the winner of each game will play a brand new end game which can be worth as much as $15,000, or even more! More about that later... James, you are represented by red, Matt by blue. James, since you were the first to sign up, you will get to go first. Ordinarily the challenger goes first, or the player who lost the previous game gets to go first, but since this is our very first show, James you control the board... If you uncover either a dollar amount or the wild card, I will ask you a question with two possible answers, one of which will be the correct answer, the other will be a bluff. To claim the box you will need to give me the correct answer. If you do, you keep control of the board. If you pick the wrong answer however, your opponent will receive the box by default, unless it would win the game for him. Okay James, if you have no further questions, please select a box, and good luck to you both!

And behind box number 3 we discover... (flip) Well well well! (applause) A coveted money bag James. Do you wish to keep it thus giving up control of the board to Matt, or do you wish to turn it back and call another number?

Very well James. You keep the money bag and that concludes your present turn at the big board. We'll highlight that box in red to signify it is James' box. Incidentally, if the first player to play keeps control of the board and wins the game without his or her opponent even getting to take one turn, that will NOT count as a loss against the other player. Matt, your first crack at the big board now. Select a number please.

And that has a $1,000 money card Matt. Question time. The word is "BUFFO". Does Buffo mean.... A - A tool used by a shoe shiner or B - A male opera singer Identify the correct answer Matt and you'll claim that box and keep control of the board. If you are wrong however, James will win the box and regain control of the board.

Perhaps trying for his first money bag. Number 10... (flip) A $750 money card. Here's your question Matt. Her name is REKA URBAN. Who was she? Was she? A - Miss Plastic Hungary, a plastic surgery beauty pageant winner. Or was she... B - Josef Stalin's grandmother A or B Matt for the box?

Box number 2 has... (flip) Another $500 box. Get this question right James and you'll have two of them! Our 4th and final category for our game is unusual laws. I will read an opening statement James, followed by two possible closing statements. Identify the one that is the truth. In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, all hotel rooms must have... A - Escape route instructions on the hotel room's door written in both English and French or B - Twin beds, with at least two feet of space in between them. A or B James?
