Bill bids $758. (ding) The actual retail price of the Wii U system is $965 and the winner is Bill. Will you join me up here please, Bill? (Bill joins me at centre stage in front of the giant price tag) Bill, I have some good news and some bad news for you. The bad news is that I don't have a car to offer you in the game that you're about to play. The good news, though, is that I do have something that I think you will like just as much. Tell him, Rich! (Giant price tag ascends to the ceiling) Rich: Bill, you have a chance to win up to $25,000 in cash! Me: $25,000! And all of that can be won right here on the punch board. You know of course that there are no free punches in this game. You have to earn all four punches yourself, and you can win those punches with these four prizes. Tell him what those prizes are, Rich. Rich: First, it's the latest edition of the popular Mario Party franchise, Mario Party 10. All new mini games and all new boards mean tons of fun for all ages. Mario Party 10 from Nintendo, rated E for everyone. Next, an air purifier. Clean air means better air, you'll never have to worry about bad air odor again. From Honeywell. Third, an electric kettle. Tea? hot chocolate? instant soup? if you have a taste for it, Hamilton beach kettles can have it ready in minutes. Includes a 360-degree rotating or cordless base for easy serving. Finally, a food dispenser. Combining contemporary styling with a user-friendly design, this dual portion control dry-food dispenser can hold up to 17.5 ounces of food in each canister and is suitable for a wide variety of dry foods such as cereal, trail mix, candy and granola. From Zevro. There they are, Mark. Me: Now Bill, take a look at the prices we have for those prizes.
Video game: $40 Air purifier: $98 Electric kettle: $130 Cereal dispenser: $55
Those prices that we have over there are wrong. I would like you to tell me whether the right prices for those prizes are higher or lower than the prices we showed you.

This is my FAVORITE cash game too!
Let me see here...
Video game: $40 Although I don't play video games very much, I'll say HIGHER than $40...
Air purifier: $98 Seems like a nice prize, but I believe it will be LOWER than $98...
Electric kettle: $130 Now THAT prize is my cup of tea! I'll go LOWER than $130 for the kettle...
Cereal dispenser: $55 I believe that price is over-inflated, as are cereal prices, so I'll say the dispenser is LOWER than $55...

All right, let's find out how you did. He says higher for the video game. (Manuela lifts up the tag. Price is shown as $50; ding) You're right, and you've won the video game as well as a punch. Air purifier, lower than $98. (Amber lifts up the tag. Price is shown as $81; ding) Right again! Two prizes and two punches. Electric kettle, lower than $130. (Manuela lifts up the tag. Price is shown as $185; buzzer) Uh oh, mistake number one. Cereal dispenser, lower than $55. (Amber lifts up the tag; price is shown as $38; ding) You're right with that one. All right Bill, step over here and punch out three holes, but do NOT pull out the slip in the hole. (Bill, please give me three numbers between 1 and 50 for your punches. Keep in mind that the numbers you select for your punches cannot repeat)

All right, let's see how well you have done. (I take out the slip from Bill's first punch and look at it) And Bill, I find that you have done okay. In fact, I think that I would call $250 okay. (ding ding) Now do you want to give that back or keep it?

|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jun 20, 2015 12:33:43 GMT -5
$250 is okay, but not as okay as $25,000, I'll forfeit that and look in the next hole please.

He's going to give that back. (I throw away the $250 and look into hole number 19. I find the slip and pull it out and look at it) And with this one, you have done a little bit better. That last one was only worth $250, but this one is worth four times that much. I'm talking about $1,000 here. (ding ding ding ding ding ding) Now, we have one hole left. Do you want to take the thousand or do you want to give it back and look in the last hole?

With only one hole left, and a lot of amounts smaller, I am going to play it safe and pocket that $1,000!

He is going to take the $1,000 ladies and gentlemen. (audience applauds) There's some approval there from the audience. But let's see if you could have won more. The last hole we had left was at number 11. (I reach in, pull it out and look at it) And would you believe this? Now, he gave back $250. He's stopping at a thousand. But had he gone on, he would have had..............................$1,000 again. (TPIR 72 main theme) Bill, spend your thousand dollars wisely. Another pricing game coming up after this. Each of you will be presented with a showcase of wonderful prizes to bid on and whoever bids closest to the actual retail price of their own showcase will win it. But if you are the winner and you are $250 or less away from the retail price of your showcase, we will give you both showcases! Now Kevin, since you're the top winner, you will be making a decision about the first showcase once both you and Jay see it. So let's not waste any more time and show both of these fine folks the first showcase please. Rich: This showcase contains prizes revealed as we try to indulge your sweet tooth. Now Kevin and Jay, I hope you both like sweets because if you do, then you'll just love this box of chocolates. Hotel room accommodations include free WiFi, plus both full and lap desks, flat-screen TV and coffeemaker, as well as microwave and minifridge. Daily breakfast is also included. And this showcase, which we hope gives you a craving for sweets, can be yours if the price is right! Me: Kevin, do you wish to bid on this showcase or pass it to Jay?
