Time for our second episode of the Las Vegas version of Top Card. \ nelson21 returns with one win and $76,550. \ Just in case you're not familiar with the rules: www.dougmorris.net/cards\ And now, time for qualifying, the two players closest to the right answer, high or low, get to play. Before the show, Jackie drew one Bingo ball from a standard 75-ball American Bingo cage -- then spun an American roulette wheel once. We multiplied the Bingo number with the Roulette number and reached what product? (Hints: The best possible product, 75 times 36, is 2700. In the event the roulette spin was a single zero or a double zero, the product is 0.)
Since we're a new series and we want to "spread the wealth", this is open to anyone who hasn't played against Nels in a main game of Top Card. If that describes you, you may PM dougmorrisontheair (that's a me) in 24 hours from now.

Okay, let's see the results of the bingo draw. N-41. Now for the spin. Red 14. Two important numbers for certain Cincinnati Reds managers of the 1990s and 1980s, respectively. If you know, you know. Anyway, what's the product? (ding)...574. Who's the closest? 468 mringgenberg It's Matt. Okay. You're on. Wait -- wrong show. Anyhoo. Next closest. 1500 gameboy2000 It's David. Thanks to all for participating. Top Card's coming up.

(opening theme plays) Thank you, Steve Anderson. Helloooooo, everybody, and welcome to another game of Top Card from one of the most exciting cities on the planet -- fabulous Las Vegas! (audience cheers)We are delighted to bring the game of knowledge, strategy, and luck of the draw here to America's playground. And here to help us is renowned Baccarat dealer -- sure to be a renowned Top Card dealer -- Miss Jackie McQueen. (audience cheers)Jackie: Hi, everybody. Doug: So have you and Wanda recovered from last night? (audience laughs)Jackie: What happens in Vegas stays between the best of friends, Doug. (scattered woos and hollers) Doug: For the curious, Wanda is our stand-in dealer on this show. You'll meet her when Jackie has to help with a special tournament here. Also, whenever a jackpot goes unclaimed on this show, funds from that jackpot go toward a night on the town for talent. While the rest of us -- still have to work. (audience laughs)Doug: Before the jealousy grows, please introduce our champion. Jackie: With twos wins and $76,550 in cash, we welcome back Nels Snesrud. (audience cheers)Doug: Nels, welcome back. More than $76,000 in winnings. A great game on the last show -- then you ran into some bad luck courtesy of three-letter axes and the joker. But today's a new today. Think the third time will be a charm, Nels?

Well, hopefully you leave Las Vegas with some much needed fundage. Let's play Top Card. (audience cheers) The object of the game is to hit 21 or come the closest to that total without busting. Along the way, you'll have to answer toss-up questions from these categories. Our categories for this game are Fun With Names, Nine-Letter Words, "Denise" Du Jour -- (chuckles) -- oh dear -- Doug Morris -- I see what they're doing here -- (scattered laughter from crew) -- Days of the Week, Suitable Titles, Dynamic Duos, and Not Quite Right.
The positioning of some of these categories is not quite right. If you know, you know. (scattered laughter from crew)
In any event, before the show, we took a special deck of ten cards, ace through 10, gave it a good shuffle, and dealt one card behind each category. Chime in with the correct answer -- and you'll decide between the card behind the chosen category -- or the top card of a full 52-card deck in front of Jackie. Whether or not you take the top card, the card and category up here on the board then leave the round. Once you've collected a card, you'll have another decision -- choose another category, or, if you're in a position to bust, you may freeze. And that's important because the first player to freeze gets to make the last move of the round if necessary. A round can never end in a tie. And an ace is always worth one. Nels, you're the returning champion. You'll start us off by picking the first category in Round 1.

Days of the Week. Good luck, everyone, and away we go with this. It's a toss-up question open to everyone. An actress named Weld shares her first name with an anime character who is also Carole's singing partner. What is their shared first name?
(David, Matt, and Nels, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.)

Opposite corner this time for Fun with Names. Take the last name of the actress who played Angela Bower on the sitcom "Who's the Boss?" -- and add the one-word title of the quiz show hosted by Jeff Hephner. You end up with the identity of what common household object?
(David, Matt, and Nels, please PM me your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.)

Nels: Light switch Doug: That's what we needed. (audience cheers)Doug: Matt, you had the right star's name. But we needed you to combine her last name with the title of "Switch" to come up with "Light switch". So that's why Nels is about to get a card. Will it be this? It's a 7. Want it or the top card, Nels? (audience shouts suggestions)

All right. These are questions about the Hollywood Walk-of-Famer -- not me. That would explain the artwork on the category. Doug Morris was among many famous people who received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in 2010. Among 2010's other honorees was the actor who played the title role in the 1982 movie "Gandhi". Name this honoree.

For the challengers only... It's logical that this particular fictional character would sing the suitably titled song "Jolene" on any given episode of "Star Trek: Enterprise" -- since actress Jolene Blalock portrayed the Vulcan. Name this character.
