Wants the top card. I gather you'd like a deuce right about now. We certainly don't want any of those lousy jokers. Jackie, what'cha got for Nels? (Jackie lifts top card) (scattered groans) Gotta a nickel. That's what. Nels, two chances remain. With 14, you really have something to think about. You may freeze and keep $20,700 -- or go fishing for a 7 on your third chance. (audience shouts suggestions)

Four letter words

(scattered woahs and cheers) We'll take that to mean you're going for it. Okay, behind Four-Letter Words, we find... (audience cheers)...$5100. Okay, the correct answer brings the stash to more than $25,000 -- and possibly a million if there's a 7 behind that cash card -- or there's a 7 waiting for you on top of the deck. A wrong answer costs you more than $10,000. Good luck, Nels. It's a group of shrubs with stems of moderate length. It's also the last name shared by the 41st and 43rd Presidents of the United States. What is this four-letter word or proper noun?

That's it. (audience cheers) All right. Now we cross our fingers and our toes for a 7. If there's a 7 here, Nels, you're our first grand champion in the Las Vegas era of Top Card. Some of you might remember in the original series -- (scattered groans over obvious stall) -- hey, I've got a floor director showing me "stretch". (scattered laughter from crowd) As I was saying -- some of you might remember in the original series -- first show right out of the gate -- Top Card Plus was won -- leading to a brand new car. Nels, we hope this Las Vegas sneak preview special can end with a million dollar win right here and right now. Come onnnnn -- seven! (scattered cheers) (audience groans)Thaaaaat's -- not a 7. That's poison. That's a big cup of poison. We don't want that 10. Thankfully we can refuse it for the top card and we will. Nels, if the top card is a 7, you win $1,000,000 on top of the $25,800 you presently have. If it's 6 or less, you're still in business with one chance to go -- *if* you want it. The card is more than 7, you're heading for Bust City. Jackie, we'd *love* to see a 7. (scattered cheers) (Jackie lifts top card) (audience groans)*Another* nickel. Well -- that's 5 does make you $5000 richer. Nels, one chance to spare. But you may freeze here on 19, cash out and take $30,800. It's either that or go fishing for a deuce for the win. What'cha wanna do? (audience shouts suggestions) Just in case you go for it and draw an ace, it's a stalemate -- but it's a stalemate with more than $30,000. But a 3 or more would lose it for you -- and of course any joker is an instant loss.

Freeze

(audience cheers)I had a feeling you were going to freeze here. (freeze sfx)Nels, we add this to your prior winnings for a total -- of... (unintelligible dialogue from S&P) ...ohhhh -- Nels, we have a serendipitous surprise courtesy of the luck of the draw. Do you remember that question at the top of the show about "The PTL Club"?

Well, we're about to revisit it. Here's what we're going to do. If you answer the question correctly, you'll win at least a share of the highest cash award that's on the board. And the way the question was written, I gather the category is Can I Have A "P", Please? Is that correct? (unintelligible but affirmative response from powers that be) Okay, that's what I'd figured. So let's reveal that cash card -- and only the cash card so that Nels does not bust. The powers that be have confirmed it's attached to that category. (audience cheers)Ohhh -- Jackie's Pot. I gather we're playing for... (unintelligible confirmation from powers that be) ...*yes* $25,200. (unintelligible dialogue from powers that be) Yes, fair enough. To future champions of Top Card, please don't think we're going to do this *every* time this happens. Random.org shuffled the joker, Jackie's Pot card and other cash cards before Top Card Plus started. It just so happened the Jackie's Pot card landed in this category associated with the opening question. Jackie, that big shopping spree may not happen. (scattered laughter from crowd; Jackie shrugs) Nels, after all that clarification, I can tell you there are two plausible correct answers to this questions. If you give me one correct answer, you'll win half of Jackie's pot at $12,600. Give both right answers -- and you win it all -- $25,200. A complete miss means you don't lose anything since you froze. So for a possible $25,200... Critics of "The PTL Club" claimed "PTL" stood for "Pass The Loot". But what did the P in "The PTL Club" really stand for?
(Nels, again, there are two possible correct answers. Given the set of initials in play, your answers must be exact. Please give me those two P words in one reply in the thread.)

We just needed "Praise" and "People" -- but you're right and all over the whole thing. (audience cheers) That brings your final total in this session of Top Card Plus to $56,000. We add that to your prior winnings for a one-day total of $66,000. (audience cheers)And the news gets better. If you win your next game, there will be just three jokers in the Top Card Plus deck. So -- less danger -- and a better chance at winning the million bucks.
How ya like that?
