It was on this very date, July the 1st way back in 1974, when NBC debuted two new game shows.
One was a replacement for Three on a Match which was called Winning Streak, hosted by Bill Cullen. That show did not last too long nor did it seem to have the ability to given the concept.
The other had more moderate success and I am surprised that it has not been revived since 1988, and that was High Rollers.
NBC debuted High Rollers in the daytime on July 1, 1974, exactly 50 years ago TODAY!
And while this was not Alex Trebek's first game show (he did The Wizard Of Odds in 1973), this was the first game show where he became perhaps more of a household name.
