To help differentiate between Doug's version and mine, I am calling this "Bill McDee's Three on a Match".
Like the original series from the early 1970s, there will be three players.
George Cluster has already expressed interest in participating in this pilot test episode.
I will need two more players to help us to try this out.
Thank you, Bill

Thanks very much George, Nels and Kevin.
While my target date was to begin on June 28th, which would mark the 50th anniversary of the final original broadcast, I'm thinking we may get started sooner.
I still have some question material to prep but in the mean time, please feel free to PM to me ten buzz codes.
They should all be higher than 0 but lower than 101.
In the event of a tie, I will use a random method to select which player rang in first to answer the posed question.
Thank you, I look forward to this greatly.
Appreciatively, Bill

Our first three contestants. Nels has already PMed to me his buzz codes. While I await to hear from the others, I'll be working on more Q & A material.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow I will finally start this episode.
This will air in the early evening hours on NBC to further differentiate from Doug Morris' daytime show.
Good timing too as Nels will be back with us tomorrow and also tomorrow, Friday June 28th of this year will mark the 50th anniversary of the final original NBC episode.
See you then!
Bill

Frank Caliendo (as Don Pardo) George Cluster… Nels Snesrud… and Kevin Kolsen… If your first three Bonus Bucks picks all match, you could win up to $25,000 in cash! From the Bill Cullen Theatre inside Rockefeller Center, New York... the NBC Television Network is proud to present… Bill McDee's - Three On A Match! Ladies and Gentlemen… here's Bill McDee! That's me! I thank you one and all for allowing me back into the fold and back into your homes. Welcome to Bill McDee's Three on a Match. This program is named this, not because I like seeing my name in lights, rather, to differentiate from the fantastic daytime version of Three on a Match hosted by the award winning Doug Morris. He took over that version from me in the daytime and with his kind permission and most enthusiastic blessing has given me the green and go sign to present to you this early evening edition of Three on a Match. I specifically chose this date, Friday, June 28th 2024 to bring Three on a Match back because on this very date, exactly 50 years ago TO DAY, the original Three on a Match hosted by the greatest Master of Ceremonies of all time, Bill Cullen, aired its final broadcast. I am delighted to welcome in our first three contestants, one of whom will get to play for up to $25,000 in cash in our Bonus Bucks end game, but first they must win the championship. Frank Caliendo told you their names, George Cluster, Nels Snesrud and Kevin Kolsen, but let's learn a little bit about you three if you please. And not to plug another game show, but George Cluster, tell us about you in 25 words or less...I jest, use as many words as you wish please.

Well I am from Spartanburg, SC. Home to Wofford and USC Upstate. I am a singer, a mahjong player, love word searches, listen to news themes around the world, love game shows, and enjoying helping the Teen Titans whenever possible. I even have them out in the audience cheering for me and the players. We even gave them our autographs not only to the opponents but to the audience as well before we went on the air at no cost whatsoever.

Our second player is Nels Snesrud. What should we know about you Nels?

Player 3 is Kevin Kolsen, from New York and a tax accountant if memory serves.
What else would you like to share with us today Kevin?

Let’s see. Aside from those, I like going to comic book conventions. I’ll be going to New York Comic Con for the first time in October.

I understand that's quite a "biggie", hence the nickname the Big Apple. Best of luck to you in today's game Kevin, Nels and George. And as promised George, you signed up first so you get the privilege of selecting our very first category... Always a choice of three...and they are... SAY IT WITH FLOWERS, STARTS WITH "W" and FIVE LETTER NATIONS. One of the categories will always have a bonus card behind it. If and when they turn up I will explain how they work. George, what's your pleasure?

As my first name is William, I approve! Bonus card right off the bat! POINT SWAP. I will explain how this works after we complete this round of questioning. How this works is, we will play a total of five questions, each of increasing value. The first question pays $50, the second $75, next $100, followed by $125 and finally a $150 question. All questions are toss ups, and only the first player to ring in will get to answer. After we complete the 5 questions, the scores will determine who will get to play the matching board part of our game. Once I call upon you to answer, you will have 24 hours to do so. A correct answer scores you the money, an incorrect answer just keeps you where you are without any other penalty. $50 toss up question, remember the category is "Starts with W"... What "W" has the chemical formula known as H2O? (ding) Nels you are in first and have until 11:20am EST tomorrow (Sunday, June 30th) to post your answer.

Correct for $50! And any money won by you all with these answers is kept, no matter what. For $75, category is Starts With "W". What W is the name of the state with cities named Milwaukee and Green Bay? (ding) Kevin you're in first this time and have until 3:20pm EST tomorrow (Sunday, June 30th) to post your answer.

Right! And with that George you will get to go to the matching board first. First let's see how many points you will get to take to the matching board. Point values from 180 up to 250 are hidden behind these twelve boxes on the board here. Select the top, the middle or the bottom row and also a color George.

210 points there. There are 2 cards up there worth 220, 2 worth 230, 1 is 240, 1 is 250. You did uncover the POINT SWAP bonus card at the start of this round George. Do you wish to swap and try for a higher point total or are you content with the 210?

I am good with 210 because I could get something lower.

I would tend to agree. Let's see how you do now at the matching board George. There are 4 pictures in the 20 point column, one behind each box. Those same 4 pictures are also in the 30 and 40 point columns. You must match three of the same picture before you run out of points. I do want to caution you that one of the three columns contains a NO MATCH card, so try to avoid that one if you can. Remember also George, you may reveal up to three boxes in any given column. Please select a column and a color George and good luck as you try to make your first of 3 matches to win this match.
