Yeah, that's it. (1989 puzzle solve cue; John is left speechless)

(1989 theme) All right, we're going to break for some commercials and if you'll stay with us through the commercials and come back, we'll tell you exactly what led to the ruling that was made. (Back to the studio) Okay, we're back. Now let me explain what happened and why we couldn't accept John's answer. As all of you know, one of our rules on Wheel Of Fortune is that you must solve the puzzle exactly as shown on the board. When John gave his answer for the puzzle in that last round, it included the word "show" twice. Now while that word was indeed part of the solution, it only appeared one time and not two and that was why we had to rule against John. As for you Clement, you ended up with $1,000 as a result of that grave error John made when he tried to solve that last puzzle. That results in your winnings going up to $2,500 and you now trail John by only $400. For the record, I do believe that that was the first time someone solved incorrectly on the Express. All right, with all of that out of the way, we will continue on with the proceedings and begin our fourth round. (Category reveal chimes)
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _/_ _ _ _ _ _ PROPER NAME Proper Name is the category. (Out of Time bells) But, we don't have much time to play this round so I'll give the wheel a final spin. (I spin the wheel) I'll ask you for a letter. If it's in the puzzle, you'll have the option to solve or pass. Vowels worth nothing, consonants are going to be worth..................
$700
$1,700 apiece. In a tight match like this, every letter is very important. Clement, you're starting off this round. Let's have a letter please

There you go! (1989 puzzle solve cue)
J E O P A R D Y H O S T A L E X/T R E B E K PROPER NAME
Well John, that's what I call redemption after what happened to you in the previous round. $3,400 for that solve takes you up to $6,300 and also makes you our big winner! Congratulations to you, sir. Well Clement, you gave it a good effort, but that's the way the game goes. You're not leaving empty handed, however. $2,500 more for you today, and for three days, a total of $92,116 cash and prizes. Thanks for being here. And James, thank you for being here and taking over for Leaf. To show our appreciation, we've got a thousand bucks for you. (1989 closing theme) Our final bonus round of the season coming up after this. (Fade to commercial)

(Back to the studio) $6,300 to this point for our new champion John Lopez. We'd like for you to get more, however, so give that bonus wheel a spin if you please. (John spins the bonus wheel) Lots of great prizes out there, including that $100,000. (Wheel stops on S in SPIN) Envelope please. (John hands me the envelope; ding) Now then, let's put you to work here. Thing is the category tonight.
_ _ _ _ _/_ _ _ _ THING
RSTLN E. Those are the magic letters that we always begin with. Do we have any of them up there Vanna? (Vanna just stands in her spot, not moving an inch) Well, the lack of movement from Vanna tells us that none of those letters are up there. It's all you, John. Three consonants and one vowel please.

All right, let's see how many of those letters you picked pop up. (bong, bong, bong, bong)
_ _ D D _/M _ _ D THING RSTLN E CDM A
All right, that's what you have up there to work with. Remember that the category is Thing. I'll give you 48 hours to solve the puzzle; however, if you don't know the answer, just say so and we'll reveal it. Time begins now. (bonus round timer sfx)

That's it! (1989 solve cue)
G I D D Y/M O O D THING All right, let's take a look inside here. (I open the envelope) I think this is a fine way to end the season.
$40,000
Rich: John, we're sending you a cash advance in the amount of $40,000! Congratulations! (1989 closing theme) Me: A solid win, I'd say. And that, John, takes your one day all cash total to $46,300. Now you'll be playing again, and we'll inform all of you out there watching exactly when that will be after we take a time out for some commercials. (Fade to commercial)

(Back to the studio) Well, as I mentioned earlier, this was our final show of the season. I think it was a pretty good one, don't you? Vanna: I think so. Me: We had some exciting moments. Vanna: There were some painful moments too. Me: Yes there were, and one such painful moment of course happened in our Express round today. But overall, I think we had a great season here. Vanna: I think so too. Me: Now, Vanna and myself and the rest of the crew are going to enjoy some downtime during the summer before we return for the fall season. Any summer plans, Vanna? Vanna: Maybe go to the beach. You? Me: Maybe play some of my video games. I've got a whole bunch of them at home. N64, Super Nintendo, and so on. Vanna: A retro gamer then. Me: Yes indeed. As for John, he'll return to play again in the fall. (1989 closing theme) Thanks for being with us today, everyone. Enjoy your summer. Vanna: Bye. (Vanna and I wave; end credits roll; fade out) Mods, this episode is ready for the archives
