Kourtney is back to try for win #3.
Some new features:
1. During the main game, I've revamped the Dice Game slightly. This game will determine who wins control over the cards.
The champion will play this first before the first hand, and then play will alternate afterward.
The player whose turn it is will select one box from a top row of four boxes that hide the numbers 8 through 11.
They will also select one box from a bottom row of four boxes that hide the numbers 3 through 6.
Once the split is established, the player will have the option to roll the dice or pass to their opponent, if they feel their chances are not so good that their roll will fit that split.
If the player rolling rolls a number that falls in between the high and low numbers, they will earn $25 and control of the cards.
If the player rolling rolls a number that TIES either the high or low number, they will earn $50 and control of the cards.
If the player rolling has an 11 high and a 3 low split and their roll is either an 11 or a 3, they will earn $75 and control of the cards.
If the player rolling rolls a number that does NOT FIT the split, no money is awarded, but control of the cards will go to his/her opponent.
2. POT LIMIT - JOKER'S JACKPOT
If a player should lose money during any of the first six hands of play in the Pot Limit round, the Joker's Jackpot will be out of play.
As before though, if a Joker turns up, regardless of the player's wager, they will have their pot limit added to their score immediately.
3. CAR GAME.
Regardless of how the player does during the Pot Limit game, they will get to play for a new luxury automobile.
Two halves of a car symbol will be hidden behind six numbered cards.
The player will select any two cards they want.
If they find both halves of the car, in either order, they will win that car.
Players can only win one automobile during their reign as champion.
Also with this new game in use, players will be retired after winning 5 matches in a row.
If the car is not won during day one, one less card will be in play for each subsequent day it is played, thus ensuring an automatic car win with a 5th match win.
This will replace the $25,000 bonus that had been awarded previously for 5 match wins.
Also, if a champion who is playing Pot Limit has already won the car, we will play the Car Game for a cash prize for that day's runner-up.
Okay with all of that established, who would like to take on Kourtney?

I believe this episode should finally be ready to begin by this Saturday, weather and circumstances permitting of course.
If I am able to get it ready to go sooner than I shall of course do so.
Thank you Kourtney and George and any who are eager to see this episode, for your continued support and patience.
Warmest regards, Bill

Frank Caliendo: It's the card game where Ace is always high and Deuce is always low. Turn any two cards in the deck face up, then just try to fit a card in between that's neither higher nor lower. Welcome to the newest, high stakes card game on television. SPLIT DECISION! (Cheering & applause) Introducing our lovely dealer Witney Carson... Witney: Good morning everybody! And the host of Split Decision... Bill McDee! That's me! Good morning Witney, good morning everybody. I thank you Frank Caliendo. Happy belated New Year to one and all and welcome to Split Decision! Today we are introducing yet more new features for our game which I hope will add to the excitement for our players and for those of you who are gracing us with your presence by watching. One revised feature is a new type of dice game that we call "Crap Shoot", and that will be the device used to determine who wins control of our coveted playing cards. We play a best two out of three game match and today's winner will not only have a chance at up to $50,000 in cash playing our Pot Limit end game, not to mention a $37,000 Joker's Jackpot, but starting today, we have an added bonus game feature, our new Car Game that we call HALF & HALF. We'll talk more about that later, right now however, I'd like to reacquaint you with two old friends of our show. Returning for his third day of his current championship run is Kourtney Wilson, and Kourtney thus far has won for himself $14,875 in cash! (cheering & applause) And to challenge him is the same man who Kourtney defeated not too long ago, Split Decision's all time money winner, back to try to start his second championship run, George Cluster! (more cheering and applause) These are our players, and none of the names have been changed to protect the innocent! (chuckling) One thing we have changed starting today, and we're going to experiment with this idea, is to use just one 52 card deck throughout the entire match, rather than two separate decks, so trying to keep track of what cards have already been played could prove most beneficial for you both. In doing so, we will be using what we call a "carry over" card, and I'll explain that when we get to that point in the game. Meantime, we do have a freshly shuffled deck of 52 playing cards, I do play with a full deck contrary to the many rumors being bandied about. Witney please break the seal on that deck, and George, we will ask you at this time to please cut the cards by selecting any number higher than 0 but lower than 52.

Very well, now that the cards are cut, let me call to your attention... that you can win a hand in one of two ways, either by keeping a card that fits your own split, or by passing a card that would not fit in your opponent's hand, thus causing them to bust. Each hand won will earn our players $125 regardless of the outcome of the game, but the first to win three hands will win a $125 bonus, making for a total of $500. Also, any time either player wins a game 3 hands to 0, that is a clean sweep, and they will receive an extra bonus draw token to be used during the Pot Limit end game PLUS a $500 jackpot as a bonus, courtesy of our friends at Bissell. For many of your floor's cleaning needs, the Bissell cordless sweeper is light weight and portable, making it convenient to use from one room to the next, can be used on carpeted, tiled or hard wood floors, and is also very easy to store in any closet. For all of your floor sweeping needs, remember THE name for quality, cordless sweepers, Bissell. Bissell is now home to a deeper clean. Now as promised and as advertised, it is time to introduce our brand new mechanism to determine who will win control of the cards at the start of each hand. This is our Crap Shoot board. Players will alternate taking turns playing this game. We start with the champion, which is you Kourtney. Up on our board you will notice two rows of suits. Hidden in the top row are the numbers 8, 9, 10 and 11. Hidden in the bottom row are the numbers 3, 4, 5 and 6. I will ask you to select two suits, one from each row. You may select the same suit in each row if you wish to. I will also at the same time ask you to provide me a "roll code". All roll codes are higher than 0 but lower than 37. These codes will simulate the roll of a standard pair of dice. Should the number you "roll" on the dice fall in between the high and low numbers revealed on the board, you will earn $25 and control of the cards to start the hand. Should the number you "roll" TIE either number, you will win $50 and control of the cards. Should you have either an 11 high or a 3 low for your split and you roll either an 11 or a 3, that will pay you $75 and give you control of the cards. Finally, should you "roll" a number that does NOT fit the split that you establish, no money is awarded but control of the cards will go to your opponent by default. Kourtney, have you any questions? If so, please ask now or forever hold your peace. If you have no questions, please select a top row suit, a bottom row suit AND a roll code number higher than 0 and lower than 37, and good luck!

Let’s start with spades top and Diamonds below. The roll number is 19.

An 11 and a 4, a very good wide split there for you Kourtney. Only a 2, 3 or 12 would lose for you, not unlike in the game of casino craps. Funny how that worked out. And your roll is a... Four! Whew! A tie, so that's $50 and control of the cards as well for you Kourtney. Here's the first card. Got yourself a Queen there. You can keep that for yourself, or give it to George, or you can have it placed in the center as the common/shared card. What's your pleasure Kourtney?

I will take the Queen.

That exact phrase was often uttered during the 1990s Family Channel's "Chess, the interactive game". The Queen is yours Kourtney, and the next card to be placed is... A five. Is that going to George, or do you want that in the center spot champ?

Let’s place it in the center.

Will do, giving you a Queen to a 5 split. And for George he will have... The same! A symmetrical split, both of you have the same split, 5 to a Queen. O now it is time for a HI LO toss-up. The winner of this toss-up will get to decide the fate of the last card for this first hand. Kourtney up on this board we have 14 numbered boxes, the cards 2 through Ace are up there once, and also a Joker. If you select the Joker, you'll win the Hi Lo toss up automatically. Also if you select the Ace or 2 first, you'll win instantly. But if your first pick is the Ace, you will win a $500 bonus... courtesy of our friends at Ace Hardware Stores. Ace, the helpful place. Kourtney, please select a pair of boxes and in the order in which you would like them revealed please.

Let’s go with 1 and 9

As my birth date is the 19th, I like those picks. First under box 1 we have... (BONUS BELLS & CHEERING) Well what do you know?!?!?! Now that's a great way to start off the new year Kourtney, $500, courtesy of our friends at Ace Hardware. Well done! And remember, any money won by our players is theirs to keep, no matter the outcome of the match. Kourtney, both you and George have a 5 to a Queen split. Just a matter of if your instincts now are telling you to keep it for yourself or pass it over to try to bust George. An Ace, 2, 3, 4 and King would lose, another 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 Jack or another Queen would win. So 8 out of 13 cards are good ones. What's your decision Kourtney, keep the card or pass it?

I am going to keep it.

For another $125 and the early lead in this game. Will this card fit Kourtney's split? Yes it does! (applause) (theme begins to play) And as I mentioned, there will now always be a "carry over card", and that 8 of Spades will be it. That card will start hand #2, and we'll play that hand and see who wins this first game of our match, right after these words of interest!

(back from commercial) (applause) And we are back, quicker than a cat can wink it's eye! George, you have some catching up to do in this game. Now it is your first turn to play CRAP SHOOT. The rolls from 8 to 11 are reshuffled in the top row, the rolls of 3 through 6 are reshuffled in the bottom row of suits. Select a suit from the top row, a suit from the bottom row, and a roll code higher than 0 but lower than 37 please George.

Diamonds, Bottom, and lucky #24.

Post by billmcdee on Jan 10, 2024 4:29:39 GMT -5
Okay well what I need is for you to select a top suit and a bottom suit.
So not sure which ones you want.
I'm interpreting Diamonds at the bottom which is fine, but also need you to select a top row suit as well George.

Diamonds too.

Post by billmcdee on Jan 10, 2024 16:32:51 GMT -5
Very good, just wanted to be sure. Had a 9 up top, a 6 at the bottom and the roll is a 4, not a fit I'm afraid George. So no money is won, but control of the hand is yours Kourtney. The carry over card from the last hand is an 8. Do you want it for yourself, pass it to George, or place it in the center spot Kourtney?
|
|
|
Post by pathfinder20 on Jan 11, 2024 0:04:40 GMT -5
I am going to pass it.
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 11, 2024 4:18:00 GMT -5
Not at all surprising. Next up. An Ace. Where to Kourtney?
|
|
|
Post by pathfinder20 on Jan 11, 2024 7:02:21 GMT -5
I will keep the Ace.
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 12, 2024 5:57:03 GMT -5
But of course. The Ace is in your corner, the 8 is in George's corner, and the common card is... O a KING! EGAD! Well let's see what transpires here. Back with another Hi Lo toss-up. Kourtney, select a pair of boxes in the order in which you'd like them revealed. If your first selection this time is a King, a 2, or the Joker, you'll automatically keep control, otherwise you'll have another decision to make.
|
|
|
Post by pathfinder20 on Jan 12, 2024 8:36:41 GMT -5
Let’s go with 10 and 5.
|
|
|
Post by billmcdee on Jan 13, 2024 9:37:45 GMT -5
And behind the number 10 we have... A five. Kourtney, as you can see, there are 8 cards that are higher than the 5 and 3 cards that are lower. You now have the option to either predict whether you believe box 5 contains a card that is higher or lower than the exposed 5 or you may pass to George and force him to make the call if you prefer. What is your decision?
|
|
|
Post by pathfinder20 on Jan 13, 2024 14:45:38 GMT -5
I will make the call and say higher.
