Alright, I know I mentioned that sign-ups would be posted over the weekend, however I'm all set for the first few episodes. So with that said, let's go through the rules (and changes) with this version of the 1975 era of Wheel of Fortune...
Main Game:
-Top Dollar Values are $500, $750 and $1,000
-Games will have either three or four rounds. If a game has four rounds, the fourth round will be played for a gift certificate (regardless of whether it starts as a speed-up or not)
-The house minimum for solving a puzzle is $100.
-The Buy a Vowel wedge is present. If you land on it and have $250, you must call a vowel. If you don't have $250 your turn is lost. If there are no more vowels left, you'll get to spin again.
-There is no bonus round. Whoever has the highest total after the end of three or four rounds is the winner and will return on the next show.
-The categories that will be used in this series are; Event, Person/People, Thing/Things, Fictional Character/Fictional Characters, Landmark, Phrase, Title and Place.
Speed-Up Round:
-It is possible for a game to end without a speed-up.
-During the speed-up round, contestants may not call vowels at all. (This rule will only be present in the first week of shows. It is believed that this might have been the original rule, given how Chuck Woolery explains it on the July 15, 1975 audio episode.)
-If a speed-up occurs in round 3, the winner will go shopping.
Shopping:
-After a contestant solves a puzzle, they earn the right to spend their money on some merchandise.
-Unlike the show was doing at this time, I will not have the contestants arrange the prize showcases before the show. Each round will have a specific prize showcase.
-A contestant may elect to put any or all of their money "On Account" if they wish. However, any money put on account is vulnerable to a Bankrupt, and the contestant must solve another puzzle before they can use it for shopping.
-Contestants also have the option to put any remaining money on a gift certificate (since this was an option as early as July of 1975).
Returning Champions:
-No Winnings Limit
-May stay on for 5 days
Other Notes:
-I will use random.org to determine player's podiums and spins.
-As this series progresses, I'll make changes here and there.
I believe that's finally everything? So, enough talk, who'd like to spin the wheel?
