As soon as Kourtney and Nels both check in, we will begin episode #1 of STUMPERS.
As they were the first two to indicate interest in playing, I have them as my first two players for this episode.
George, if and when there is an episode 2, you will challenge the winner of today's match.
Best,
Bill

televisiontunes.com/Mindreaders___1979.htmlFrank Caliendo: "One lump or two…" Cigarettes… Ship of the desert… (canned NBC laughter) If you can figure out what we're talking about, then you could win BIG playing… STUMPERS! (cheering & applause) And now, here is the host of STUMPERS… Bill McDee! That's me! Thank you Frank Caliendo and thank you one and all as I welcome you into the fold here. This is STUMPERS, a very short lived 1976 NBC game hosted by the legendary Allen Ludden. We have retooled the game slightly and each and every day on our program, one of our contestants will have a chance to win as much as $25,000 playing our solo game at the end of today's competition. We have two players here with us, they are Kourtney Wilson and Nels Snesrud! (cheering & applause) We'll get acquainted with them in a few minutes, but right now I want to explain the rules and get right into the first game of our match today. To win the game players, you must have a higher cash total than your opponent at the end of three rounds. Each round consists of both of you playing your own individual puzzle, called a STUMPER. Up on our game board we have a total of 7 puzzles hidden, and behind one of the numbers is a JACKPOT card. I'll explain that if and when we come to it. And by the way, the answer to our opening stumper was "CAMELS" A camel can have one lump or two, is a cigarette brand, and they are also known as the "Ship of the Desert". This is our puzzle board in all its glory. You'll notice there are five lettered slides, marked A, B, C, D and E. How clever! Concealed behind three of those five slides are clues, similar to the ones you just saw in our opening example. Some clues can be more helpful than others. After one slide is revealed, if there is a clue behind it, you will get to make one guess (within a 24 hour period) to try to identify the mystery subject. The answer to the puzzle can be anything really, a person, a place, a thing, a landmark, an event, a fictional character, etc. If you can identify the subject after just one clue, you will score $150. If not, you will then select from one of the remaining slides and we will reveal it. After the second slide, you will have 24 hours again to try to identify the subject for a $100 payoff. And after a third slide, the stumper becomes worth 50 bucks to your score. Now there is no penalty for a wrong guess, so it's always worth it to take a stab at it. Two other slides are on the board too, one says "Add $100 & Pick Again". If you find that, then we will pay an extra $100 to whoever solves the stumper. But be careful, because always lurking behind one of the slides it says "NO CLUE". If you reveal that, it won't help you any but we still count that as a "clue". I'll explain more of the game if and when certain scenarios require me to do so, in the meantime let's jump right in and play some STUMPERS! And you can play right along at home with us too, which is the beauty of this game! Kourtney, as you signed up first, you'll get to play our first stumper of the day. Please select any one of the numbered boxes at this time.

Three of them have clues to help you identify the subject of this first stumper, one will increase the value of the stumper by $100 and one says "NO CLUE", you want to avoid that one. Which letter do you wish to start with?

Is it Stomach?
(buzzer)
I'm afraid not Kourtney.
You have 2 more slides to choose from and one more turn, do you want C or E?
One contains the third clue, the other has no clue, either way you'll get one last guess once it is revealed.

And E has... No Clue there Kourtney. You have already ruled out Heart and Stomach.....sounds like we're talking about the way to a man's heart..... For $50 plus the $100 added bonus, you get one final guess at it. You must post your answer by 6:05am EST tomorrow, which is Wednesday, July 26th. If you do not come up with the correct solution, Nels will get a chance to steal.
