ONE AWAY [$][7][1][1][5][6]
OK then.
Should the 7 be an 8 or a 6? Should the first 1 be a 2 or a 0? Should the second 1 be a 2 or a 0? Should the 5 be a 6 or a 4? Finally, should the 6 be a 7 or a 5?

All right. They seem to like that. Now, Michael, the man in charge of the horn today is producer Sam Hodkin. He holds your entire fate in the palm of his hand. So, I want you to ask him as nicely as possible, "Mr. Hodkin, do I have at least one number right?"

|
|

(pause) On second thought, perhaps I should ask him instead. After all, we are playing for a lot of money, and you have to devote your brainpower to figuring out which digits, if any, are wrong.
Mr. Hodkin, does Michael have at least one number right?

Oh man! Yes, you have four numbers right. Now, this is it. This is it. If you have all five numbers right, then you, my friend, have that car and a million dollars. Jennifer, get over here! (Jennifer joins us, we huddle up close) We're both going to hold onto the lucky Jennifer Gareis, from The Bold and the Beautiful. Everybody cross everything now! (we do) OK. We've got our fingers, toes, everything crossed. (shot of Michael holding onto Jennifer)
Mr. Hodkin....... does Michael win........ the car..... and a million dollars?

(Cut to entire audience groaning)
Awww man!
Jennifer: Oh, I'm so sorry.
Greg: No need for you to apologize, Jen. You did what you could. Michael only has four numbers right. You may go back to the car now. (Jennifer walks back) OK. Michael, bad news is we couldn't give you the million. Good news is, you can still win the car because you have four numbers right. You need to change only one. The only question is, which number? (audience shouts suggestions)

Go to your car! (Michael runs over to his car as Jennifer hands him his "Winner!" license plate) Oh boy, what a happy scene this is. We just gave away an $80,265 car. What will we give away next? Find out after the break. (instant replay of Sam unhappily voiding the check) (fade to commercial) ------------------------------------- (fade in) Greg: Burton, there's a spot in Contestant's Row that needs filling. Who gets that spot? Burton: Why, that would be Clément Couvreur. COME ON DOWN! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!(audience cheers as Clément runs down stage) Ça va, Clément? Welcome to the show. For those who don't know, Clément and I were talking during the break about how downhill the French version has gone. They've even got some games over there that don't even involve prices! Isn't that right?

Right. That show is a mess, and it's still running. Well, maybe if you win something, you can push it in Vincent Lagaf's face. Good luck to you. Here's the next item up for bids. (Rachel comes out with this prize...)Burton: (VO) A new camcorder.(shot of Contestant's Row, then back to the camcorder) Burton: (VO) With a ClearVid CMOS sensor with Exmor technology and Bionz image processor, the Sony DCR-SR220 Handycam camcorder captures vibrant, high-resolution video and still images that please the senses. Its dual record mode even lets you take 4-megapixel photos while recording video directly to your choice of either the built-in 60GB hard disk or removable Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick Pro Duo media. Greg: And we'd like your bids in United States dollars, not Euros. The current exchange rate, for anyone interested, is 1.00 EUR equals 1.13570 USD. That was determined by using the mid-market rates for the day of taping. Clément, what is your bid in dollars? (audience shouts suggestions)

Well isn't that nice? You can actually use the prize you just won! (audience cheers) That is so rare to hear nowadays. Oh, and if you like that, then you'll just love the two prizes I have to offer you behind this door! (Door #3 opens up to reveal Jennifer and Manuela with....)Burton: (VO) A trip to Hawaii and a trip to Jamaica!
First, you and a guest will fly from Los Angeles to Honolulu, Hawaii for an 8-night stay in a Historic Ocean Junior Suite at The Royal Hawaiian. Situated on Waikiki Beach, the legendary Royal Hawaiian Hotel is known as "The Pink Palace of the Pacific," and has been recognized around the world as an icon of luxury and romance for more than a century. Travel insurance and airline club passes included!
Second, you and a guest will fly round trip from Los Angeles to Ocho Rios, Jamaica for a 7-night stay in a Royal Oceanfront One Bedroom Butler Suite at the Sandals Royal Plantation resort. This adults-only, all-inclusive resort offers the luxury and pampering that defines Sandals, such as a personal butler, unlimited premium beverages, 3 a la carte restaurants, 24-hour room service, a world-class spa, and exchange privileges at nearby Sandals Grande Ocho Rios.
Plus, enjoy a snorkeling expedition aboard a catamaran cruise while you see marine life in its natural habitat and enjoy delicious made-to-order exotic cocktails from the bar, made with premium brand liquors as well as Caribbean inspired hors d'oeuvres to tantalize your taste buds. We've included private transfer upgrades, travel insurance, and airline lounge passes.

Greg: Now, Steven, two things must be made absolutely clear. The trip to Hawaii is the least expensive of the two, and the trip to Jamaica is the most expensive of the two. What you have to do is find a number that is somewhere in the middle of those two prices, the Magic Number. That is, higher than the price of the Hawaii trip, but lower than the price of the Jamaica trip. If you can do that, you're a winner! You use this lever to raise or lower the number as you see fit. I'm leaving it completely up to you. You set it where you want. You can get the audience to help you, and they will, but you set it where you want. Simple as that. Do you have any questions?
