We're now at the end of the show's five-year run on CBS, as well as the daytime series as a whole. But drawing inspiration from Wheel of Fortune, I'm going to keep this one going as if it weren't cancelled for a couple more years, and continue to whatever present year it may be. The show is unchanged from last time, so it will play out the same.
I'm now matching up the winners of the 1991 pilot and 1992 episodes in the first game, with the winner taking on the Wilsons in the second game. But before we proceed, let's see a random episode from the final year, broken into three parts:

On second thought, I'm going to do the show the same way as the last one. Chris' spot will be taken by someone from the first half's losing team, so let's get the show on the road! (somber piano music, with picture of recently-deceased producer Kristin Bjorklund) (voiceover) This episode is dedicated to the memory of Kristin Bjorklund, who passed away at the age of 67. She was an integral part of the production staff right here on Family Feud, beginning in 1982, when the show was hosted by Richard Dawson, and had been working with every version since then. At the time of her passing, Kristin was producing the current version of the show with host Steve Harvey. Thanks for all the hard work behind the scenes, Kristin. You will be missed. (dissolve to black screen with caption "Kristin Bjorklund (1955-2023)", then slowly fade out) (1988 FF Open) ERIN HARRIS: Welcome to the Family Feud Challenge! What is the top answer to this question?
"Name something you hang from your car's rearview mirror."
The survey says the Number 3 answer is...clang! ...a parking tag. The Number 2 answer is...clang! ...air freshener. What is the Number 1 Bullseye answer?clang! You'll get the answer as we play Bullseye on the Family Feud Challenge! Introducing the Ringgenberg family, ready for action! Playing against the Rhea family! On your marks, let's start...the Family Feud! (1988 FF Theme) Here's the star of the Family Feud Challenge, Bill Skinner!Thank you! Thank you very much! Welcome to the Family Feud Challenge, where we're exploring the show's final year on CBS, and the end of the entire daytime run...well, not necessarily, which I'll explain later. Meanwhile, we asked the question: Name something you hang from your car's rearview mirror. And I'm going to tell you that if you said fuzzy dice, you hit the Bullseye! And with that, we're going to welcome back one more time, the Ringgenbergs and the Rheas! This is the championship episode, so to speak, because the Ringgenbergs were the winners of the 1991 pilot, and the Rheas won our last episode. After they square off against each other, whoever wins this game will then take on the only family to ever play six games in a row, the Wilsons! Good luck to the both of you, and we're going to play the Bullseye round. As this is the first game, we will put $2,500 in the Ringgenbergs' bank... blip!...and $2,500 in the Rheas' bank as well. blip!We will begin the round with Matt and Justin; come on up here! (1988 FF Face-Off Cue, fiddle variant) Now remember guys, the objective is to add as much money to your bank as you can, and you do so by finding the Number 1 answer to a question. I will ask three questions, and each one will be worth $2,500, so the most either side can play for is $10,000! Here is the first question, and we asked 100 people: Name a specific music style that is most associated with Detroit.

Is blues the Bullseye answer? Show me! (strike buzzer) No, that's not it, so Justin, you get a chance to increase your bank.

Motown

Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 20, 2023 14:33:41 GMT -5
I think this could do it. Is Motown the Bullseye? clang!(bells jangling) You got it! So the bank goes to $5,000 for the Rheas. dong!Nels and Kevin, let's play the next question. Here it is for another $2,500: Name an actor who is most famous for his mustache.

Tom Selleck

Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 20, 2023 18:43:35 GMT -5
Got to admit, I was torn between him and Burt Reynolds, but you say that Tom Selleck is the Bullseye. Is he? clang!(bells jangling) You hit the Bullseye with that answer, so it's worth $2,500 for the Ringgenbergs. dong!So there's going to be $7,500 on the line with the last question. Kevin and Matt, come on up! This is the question we asked 100 people: Give me a horse's name that has also appeared on a motor vehicle.

I have a gut feeling, and it says that you've hit the Bullseye. Is it a Mustang? clang!(bells jangling) Direct hit! And so, the Ringgenbergs' bank increases to $7,500. dong!(1988 FF Commercial Cue, alternate harmonica variant) We will play the first round to see who gets to play for their bank in Fast Money, coming up on the other side of this break.

Matt and Justin, it's time to play the Feud! (1988 FF Face-Off Cue, harmonica variant) As always, the first family to 300 points wins the game and plays Fast Money for their bank. And to recap, the Ringgenbergs' bank is at $7,500, and the Rheas' at $5,000. Good luck to both of you, and here we go with the first round. We asked 100 people this question, and the top eight answers are on the board; try to find the most popular answer. If you were planning a European vacation, what landmark would you want to visit the most?

The Eiffel Tower

Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 21, 2023 22:25:51 GMT -5
Show me the Eiffel Tower! clang!(bells jangling) That's the Number 1 answer, so the Ringgenbergs get to play the question. But Justin, we may come back to you later on, so think up some answers if you get a chance to steal. Now we come to you, Nels. If you were planning a European vacation, what other landmark would you want to visit the most?

Three seconds... (strike buzzer) ...and already, you got your first strike. If you get three of those, the Rheas get a chance to steal. So we go down to Kevin. Maybe you have an answer for us.

If I were a betting man, I's say that it's the Number 3 answer, as Queen Elizabeth called it her home for several decades. But let's see where it falls anyway. Show me Buckingham Palace! clang!Number 3 it is! Well Matt, it's getting a little bit tougher now, but let's see if you can pull it out.
