Poetry for $700, and here's a line from a scary poem since we are in October, along with the question.
She felt that something frightening was about to happen. She had the strange feeling of being watched.
She "looked to heaven, and tried to pray; But or ever a prayer had gusht, A wicked whisper came, and made" Her "heart as dry as dust."
From which poem do the portions of the question in quotation marks come?

Correct for $700!
Matt R. - $3600 Matt B. - $4665
Matt R., we're getting down to the wire, and this is the 10th spin, so if you want all 6 Jokers, this is the time! However, you are $1400 away from the $5000 goal, meaning that you could do it on this spin. Jokers on the bottom reels can certainly help you out, so spin the reels when ready.

Robin Williams for $1,000

OK. Robin Williams for a grand.
Now, if you answer this question correctly, you'll be only $65 short of Matt B. However, if you miss this question and Matt B. steals it, he'll win the game and move on the Bonus Round for a chance to win over $150,000 in cash and prizes.
Matt R., here's your question. It's a little long to add some tension, so listen carefully.
When Robin was eighteen years old, he enrolled in Claremont Men's College, where he studied Political Science. He participated in many extracurricular activities that the school offered, but he excelled in his stage performances. His teachers at Claremont told Robin that he had a great talent that should not be wasted, so upon graduating, he enrolled and was accepted to the College of Marin, where he majored in Acting. His teachers noticed that he was a cut above the rest of the class and suggested that he apply to a school that specialized in the performing arts. So taking his teachers' advice, he applied and was accepted to a prestigious school.
For $1000 and to stay alive, what is the name of the Performing Arts School that he attended?

That is incorrect! College of Marin is part of the question.
Matt B., you can win the game RIGHT NOW if you can tell me the school he attended.

Oh no! You blew it, too! In fact, you were WAY off! Matt R. dodges a bullet and is still in the game!
The school we're looking for is Juilliard.
You see, at the conception of Juilliard School in 1905, it was simply called the Institute of Musical Art. The school was founded by Dr. Frank Damrosch, who was the head of Music Education for New York City's public school system. The Institute of Musical Art was a new idea in the United States, because many years American musicians had to travel abroad to receive the training that they required. Damrosch wanted to help the American musician, and so he and his financial banker, James Loeb, planned to enroll only 100 students. They had such an outpouring of applicants, that they expanded the enrollment. But how did the Institute of Musical Art get the name Juilliard? Well, in 1919, the last will and testament of Augustus D. Juilliard, who was a very wealthy and powerful textile merchant left his entire fortune to the Institute of Musical Arts. In that same year, it was considered to be the largest bequest at that time. With the newfound money and design of the school, it was able to help more talented musicians than anyone could dream possible. Ever changing to keep up with the times, and with the schools abroad, Juilliard initiated programs for dance in 1951 and drama in 1968.
In 2001, the school initiated its Jazz program and continues to help people that are musically talented, those that have dancing in their blood, and those that love to act. It was at Juilliard that Robin excelled, as his teachers soon realized that he was better than most of the other students, and told him with his natural abilities and unique sense of style, that he would go very far. In fact, Robin graduated in the top 1% of the class. Other famous alumni include Patti LuPone, Val Kilmer, David Ogden Stiers, Kelsey Grammar, Francis Conroy, Kelly McGillis, Mandy Patinkin, Christopher Reeve, and William Hurt.
Matt B., it's your spin.

Scrambled Cities for $500

Scrambled Cities for $500, and this is an important one too, Matt B., because if you get this right, you'll be over the $5,000 goal, and you will have a Possible Win. Keep in mind, though, Matt R. does have one final spin.
First, let's take a look at this scrambled-up word.
AVENGE
Unscramble these letters to reveal a city that has the largest lake in Europe, and where a famous author wrote the book "Frankenstein" at that same place.

Geneva?

Post by dad90 on Oct 16, 2014 8:58:42 GMT -5
If Geneva is your guess...
...then celebrate with joy because Geneva is CORRECT for $5,165!
Matt R. - $3600 Matt B. - $5165
(audience applause)
Lake Geneva is the largest lake in Europe, and that's where Mary Shelley wrote her famous book "Frankenstein" there.
Now, Matt R., this is where we stand. You are trailing Matt B. by $1,565. This FINAL SPIN must be worth at least that much, meaning you must spin at least either ONE JOKER on the top reels, and/or spin at least ONE JOKER on the bottom reels, and hoping that one of the cash amounts is $500.
You can also catch up if ONE or TWO FAST FORWARDs pop up on the first 2 reels. Watch out, though. The OPPONENT'S CHOICE on the third reel is the one that you DON'T want, because Matt B. could FORCE you out of the game.
So, if you're ready, give the machine one FINAL SPIN.

[THE] [JOKER'S] [WILD] [FACE] [THE] [DEVIL]
Welcome Matt, to the Bonus Round where the real fun part begins. Now, here's how we play. This Bonus Round Endgame is divided into 2 parts. This is Part 1: Spinning for Prizes.
First of all, for winning the game, you have entitled 1 Free Spin of the machine. You have a chance to win four more Free Spins by answering 4 True or False questions. For every correct answer you give me, I'll give you an additional Free Spin.
Here are your questions.
1. True or False: The Warner Brothers originally wanted Ronald Reagan to play the part of Rick Blaine in the movie Casablanca. 2. True or False: Cary Grant and Noel Coward were both offered the part of James Bond in Dr. No. 3. True or False: Julie Andrews was the original Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. 4. True or False: Born in Crew in 1837, George Gascoigne was the great-grandfather of Bamber Gascoigne and the great-great-grandfather of Paul Gascoigne.

1. It is true. 2. It is true. 3. It is true. 4. It is indeed false. Well done, Matt. You have earned 5 Free Spins at the machine. Now, it's time to have some fun. [][][] [FACE][THE][DEVIL]On the top reels of the machine now are prizes, cash amounts, and Jokers. In a moment, you are going to spin the top reels in the hopes of matching a prize. You have the option of freezing one of the prizes if you wish. Jokers are Wild, of course, but they are EVEN HARDER to get them at this point. Now, normally we have 4 prizes, a 3-prize package, and a car available as prizes. However, our friends at McDonald's have given us a TON of good stuff because the Holidays are right around the corner. And to find out what kind of prizes are available for this Bonus Game, here's our Announcer to tell us all about them. Announcer: Well, the Holidays are coming! The Holidays are coming! And it's THAT time of year again. Well, this year you don't have to use your own money to buy gifts. We can give YOU the gifts and some holiday cash and cheer with it.
First, we have Gas For A Year, courtesy of Shell, worth almost $2,400...
a SoftCard Mobile Prize Package worth over $3,100...
a Target Shopping Experience AND Early Access to Black Friday, all worth $5,000...
a Beaches Resorts Luxury-Included Vacation worth $6,500...
any 1 of 250 destinations on Delta Airlines, worth $7,500...
a Trip on a Cessna Private Jet worth almost $17,000...
$10,000 Cash to Pay Your Bills...
...cash amounts ranging from $5,000 to $100,000....
...and of course, a NEW CAR!(audience cheers and applause) It's the 2014 Dodge Charger SE, the sport sedan with a legendary name and contemporary technology. Comes with standard features, 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 engine with 8-speed automatic transmission, AM/FM/CD stereo with SiriusXM Satellite Radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel and engine block heater. This is the Dodge Charger; a terrific prize worth $27,405!(audience applause and cheers) DK: Thank you, Announcer! Those are some pretty good prizes. Now, here's how this works. If you match 3 of a particular PRIZE, you'll automatically win that prize, leaving the other prizes up for grabs. Also, the $10,000 is a prize which is ONLY used to pay those bills. If you match 3 of a particular DOLLAR AMOUNT, we don't give you the cash like that. Instead, you have to EARN IT by beating the Devil. Now, should ALL 3 JOKERS pop up in one spin, the prizes that you DID NOT win will be all up for grabs in Part 2. You can still keep going to hopefully match the Dollar amounts on the reels. One more thing: Once all of your Free Spins have been used, you have the option of taking the Bonus Spin to see if you are lucky. We'll get to that later. Right now, if you're ready, spin the reels and good luck!
