Folks, what makes a game show host? Well, years of experience on the air of course. Plus a great knowledge, a generous personality and the ability to connect to the contestants. Tonight, we are going to honor one of those with this award I have in my hand. These are the nominees for Best Host Of the Year:
Bill McDee (Three On a Match) [NBC] Doug Morris (Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour) [NBC] Lainey Murphy (Lainey's Price is Right) [Syndication] John Bergman (The Big Showdown) [CBS] Kevin Kolsen (Wheel of Fortune) [CBS] Mark Liotta ($ale of the Century) [Syndication]
And the award goes to...
Marvin Grotto: Uh excuse me Frank.
Me: Marvin! What are you doing here?
MG: I've come to present the award for Funniest Monster of the Year.
Me: Um, Marvin. This is the Net Game Awards. I think you want The Fuzzy Awards. They are next door.
MG: Ah! Gotcha! Wonder if I'm winning an award.
(Marvin strolls offstage)
Me: Well, that was interesting. For those who don't know, Marvin is my fuzzy blue monster pal. The Fuzzies are next door. Anyway, the award goes to...
(I open the envelope)
DOUG MORRIS

Thank you, Tony. As someone who's been around since the near beginning of this site, It gives me great pleasure to preside over the Best New Host of the Year award. It allows new hosts to show their stuff and introduce themselves to our fine community. And we welcome each one of them with open arms. It also gives the veterans here a chance to further interact with new members and make them feel welcome.
Here are the nominations for Best New Host of the Year:
- Lainey Murphy (Lainey's Price is Right) [Syndication]
Before I announce the winner, I want to extend my thanks to the nominees for their contribution to this site so far.
The award goes to...
*drumroll*
The category is Person. And in this case, Person does mean Proper Name.
Stand up and applaud for...

WOW! My first ever NGC award, how about that!
I do want to do the cliché thing, and thank everyone who made this award possible. I enjoy hosting game shows as much as the next guy, and without everyone's love and support on here I don't think I would've gotten as far as I did. When I first got on the site, I didn't know what to expect, but I'm sure glad I've gotten where I am now. It's wonderful showcasing some of my hosting skills to you all! Alright, before I talk too long and we get pre-empted by "The Young and The Restless", I'll take my award and sit down. Thank you all!

(cheers and applause)Now it's my turn to present the award for Best Constestant of the Year. For the past few years we have seen contestants winning big cash and huge prizes. Right now we have three nominees who are wiling to win the Big Jonnies tonight. Here are the nominees for BEST CONTESTANT OF THE YEAR... Lainey Murphy... "Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour". *shows footage* (ding)DOUG: Okay, Lainey. Bill's ready with his answer. We now call for yours. An exact match means your total winnings will crack the half million barrier. How do you complete this? _____ HOLT. LAINEY: If I don't match for the big one, I still had fun these past 5 shows so I hope Bill said this one... from NBC... LESTER HOLT. (audience cheers)Doug: There were two answers I thought of -- and I think you picked the better of the two. Lester Holt's been on this network for decades. *Laura* Holt -- character from days gone by -- yet still part of NBC's history. Bill, for one hundred thousand dollars, did you write down the first name of the anchor and managing editor at "Nightly"? Bill: To me the best answer is... (card) LESTER Holt... (dings; audience applause; win music plays; MG-HSH theme plays)(fireworks sfx)Doug: BINGO!!!! (Bill runs from center square to hug Lainey) Doug: Lainey, what a way to punctuate a championship reign. (Lainey Screams) Lainey: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! (Her Family and Friends runs up onstage for a celebration hug and balloons fall down as well) =================================================================================================================== TONY: Bill McDee... "Tic Tac Dough". *plays footage* This could possibly be it, folks. If Nels buzzes in and answer correctly, he'll block. But if Bill buzzes in and answer correctly, he'll win his fifth game and he'll also win a brand new automobile. The jump-in category is ENTERTAINMENT. Here is this question. ENTERTAINMENT
In film, who is the alter ego of Daniel Hillard?[BUZZ-IN]Bill... for Tic Tac Dough... $1,750... your fifth win... and a brand new automobile... what is your answer? BILL: Mrs. Doubtfire. TONY: Bill McDee... you've won your fifth game!!! [LONG WIN CUE][LOUD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE][LONG APPLAUSE, STANDING OVATION]
[DING][CHEERS, APPLAUSE CONTINUES]And Justin Rhea... "The Joker's Wild". *plays footage* You have 3 spins left. Want to spin again and keep the 100 grand and the Joker? JUSTIN: I would indeed. TONY: Alrighty then... Give it another spin. [PULLS LEVER, WARBLES][REEL SPINS]$200,000! [WIN CUE][CHEERS AND APPLAUSE][LONG APPLAUSE CONTINUES]Congratulations on winning $200,000, Justin. How do you feel after winning everything in our final episode? JUSTIN: I feel incredible!! *ends footage* TONY: And the award for Best Contestant of the Year goes to... *opens envelope* The glass ceiling has been broken! Lainey Murphy... I want to thank everyone who was a part of this voting. I feel very honored to be in this selection for this award. There are so many great hosts who I feel far more deserve it than I do.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

A second net game award tonight at my first awards show on the boards! How about that!
I sincerely thank you all for the support, Yahtzee was my favorite net game, and I was thinking of bringing it back but sadly things fell through and for now it’s scrapped, but I definitely should bring it back now! Crazy to think Yahtzee didn’t win for best graphics, but I’m glad I lost to Mr. Bill McDee, his Card Sharks graphics are outstanding. I’m also glad that Channel 1 is making a comeback, with more and more original game shows being showcased there. Thank you all so much for my second award, see you at the game tables!
