========================================================================================================================== Hi... I'm Tony Lane. Before we start the show, I personally want to say we have lost a legend. You may know him as Paris from "Mission: Impossible" TV series, the narrator of the TV documentary "In Search of...", but you may also know him as Mr. Spock from the "Star Trek" TV series, cartoon series, and in motion pictures. Leonard Nimoy have died of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He was 83. On behalf of Gambit, Merrill Heatter, and The CBS Television Network, we'll pause for 30 seconds and pay our respects to the loss of Mr. Nimoy. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the Nimoy family, William Shatner, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, and Walter Koenig. And now... our moment of silence. *raises hand and made a vulcan salute* Live long and prosper... Lenoard Nimoy. *fades to photo* *slowly fades to black* [OPENING INTRO, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Jim Thornton: You have the knowledge... you know the odds... all the rest is in the cards. On--A game of skill, fate, and fortune. And now, from Television City in Hollywood, here's your host-- Tony Lane![CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, Jim Thornton... and welcome back. Good morning, folks... and welcome to Gambit. TV's only show where a 21 or blackjack could lead to a cavalcade of cash, prizes, and a chance to win up to $1 million. And now, let's meet our special guest card dealer whom is to boldy go where no contestant has seen before... from "Star Trek: Voyager"... please give it up for Ms. Seven of Nine herself... Jeri Ryan! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Jeri: Thanks for that lovely introduction, Tony. It's truly an honor to become a guest card dealer. Let's not waste time and we'll meet our combatants for today. [CONTESTANTS' INTRO]Our challenger for today is an in-home caregiver. From Eastern Lower Alabama... meet JAMES GREEK. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]And playing against James is our returning champion. Making his second appearance with a total of $30,450 in cash and a prize, he's a native of Marlton, New Jersey. Give it up for MICHAEL CLIFFORD! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: Thank you, Jeri. We'll see you dealing the cards after the break. First, let's meet James to our show. Please tell us about yourself for a short while.

I'm still unemployed at this very moment. Also, I would like to say hello to the fine folks at Hammacher Schlemmer...(audience laughter)...I got some complaints from them about what I said about their prizes on the last episode & so I am here to make amends with them. My apologies, Hammacher Schlemmer.

I'm sure that the reps at Hammacher Schlemmer will forgive you in return, Michael. Good luck to you. Before we start the game, we'll take a short pause. And after the break, we'll start round 1 and see if one of them reaches 21 or a blackjack. The winner of the round could win big with either a 21 bonus or the Blackjack Bonus. We'll begin round 1 of Gambit right after this commercial time out. Stick around, folks... [CLOSING THEME][CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]*fade to commercial*

*back to studio* [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Welcome back to Gambit. Now that Michael and James are ready to play round 1. The object of the game is to get closer to 21 without going over. Each correct answer is $100 plus the option of either keeping the card or passing it to your opponent. Let's take a look at the big money board underneath my podium. [CLANG]The first player who has a combination of at least 21 wins the 21 bonus pot of $5,000. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]But whoever gets an Ace and either a 10 or face card wins the Blackjack Bonus of $17,500! [LOUDER CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]During the commercial break, the lab rats at Tandem Technologies, a RANDOM.ORG company, have given our guest card dealer Jeri a deck of 54 super sized playing cards that were shuffled, cut, and sealed. Mrs. Ryan will now break the seal and show our players and those of you watching at home the first card in round 1. Jeri...? Jeri: Our first card in the first round is a Joker. [AUDIENCE CHEERS...]Tony: Each correct answer is $100 and the player closer to 21 scores an additional $500. Here comes the first question... Andrew Dice Clay, Paul Shafer, or Eddie Murphy-- Who was the first person to say a curse word on the TV show Saturday Night Live?*You have 24 hours to PM your buzz-code between 1 and 100.

[AUDIENCE BOOS]The audience doesn't like the call now that Michael have passed the Joker to James. Who knows... it could be worth as much as $10,000. Jeri won't be revealing the next card unless one of you answers the next question. Butterflies, fireflies, or locusts-- Which insect species attracts mates by bioluminescence?

James is keeping the card. Jeri, please reveal his next card. Jeri: It's a very good card for James... it's a 10! [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Tony: If James next card is an Ace, he'll win the $17,500 Blackjack Bonus. Jeri won't reveal the next card unless someone answers this next question. [BELL CLANGING, SIREN WAILS, 21 WIN CUE, CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]Michael... if you would have kept that Ace, you would have gotten a chance to win the big payoff.
