My updated version of Gambit will now be debuting on April 21st instead of May 21st!
I've tried to "streamline" the Gambit Board round a bit, but want to do some rehearsals for it.
Who would like to participate as the contestant?

May be a bit later this evening. I have a few things to take care of after work today.
Business before pleasure.

Yes, I was delayed and frankly, rather exhausted yesterday so I didn't get around to starting it.
I will try to add visuals later.
Right now Kevin I present to you a freshly shuffled deck of 52 playing cards.
Our lovely dealer has just broken the seal on said deck, and I will request at this time that you give them a cut.
Please indicate how deep into the deck you'd like your cut to be, any number higher than 0 but lower than 52.

(Sorry for the delay, got home from work yesterday and was exhausted, went right to sleep!) Kevin, you just cut the cards, and hopefully it will prove to be a lucky cut for you. We'll see as the hands play out. You will play four hands at the Gambit Board, and that will establish your final betting bank when you play a 5th and final hand against the house. The 4th hand at the Gambit Board will be worth double the dollars for your betting bank. First you will select a letter in GAMBIT. Hidden behind each letter is a different hand value ranging from 14 up to 18. One of the letters also has a "Minus 1". If you pick that first, then you'll select another letter and we will subtract 1 from that hand total for you. That will be the hand that you have to beat in order to get the cash into your betting bank. Then I will ask you to select one of the eighteen numbers on the board. Cash awards from $1,000 up to $2,000 are up there, and a couple are worth $2,500. If you beat the hand, you'll win the money. If you either do not beat the hand or go over 21, you win nothing. You'll have the option to surrender for lesser guaranteed dollars. If you tie any given hand, you'll be awarded half the cash award. You have 2 power chips. You may use 1 only during each of these first 4 hands. There is another power chip on the board someplace. Hopefully you can find it and add it to your other two. Any and all power chips that carry over into the 5th and final hand, the beat the dealer hand, can be used by you. If you have no questions Kevin, please select a letter in GAMBIT, and also a number from the board, and good luck!

And incidentally if you hit 21 exactly during any of the first 3 hands, it's an automatic $2,500. $5,000 for the fourth hand!

The M and the number 9.

M for McDee! The hand you have to BEAT this time is... (ding) 14! Nice! And the hand value will be... (Las Vegas Gambit Gambit Board sound effect) $1,200 if you win this hand. Get 21 in any combination however and the hand will be worth $2,500 for your instant win. First card out of the chute... It's a six Kevin. You can keep that knowing you need only a 9 or better on your next draw to win the $1,200 for your betting bank, or you can power chip it out. You can only chip out one card per hand however. Also any chips you have left for the 5th and final hand, for the major wager, can be used, so keep that in mind too... What do you want to do?

I like my odds with the six. I'll keep it.

(applause) Any card higher than 8 will win you this first hand Kevin. Next card please... That 9 would give you 15 and $1,200. So first I want to ask, do you wish to keep it or chip it out? Second, if you elect to keep it, do you want to freeze at 15 or do you want to try to take another card to hit 21, and make it $2,500, running the risk of possibly going over? If you take the card and elect to continue, and go over, you would have the option to chip that card out but you would have to take the next card, for once you elect not to freeze, you must take at least one more card. How do you play it Kevin?

I will keep it and freeze.

And I will establish a rule for the future, as soon as a player draws a card that beats the total needed, the hand will automatically end! After one hand Kevin, you have one-thousand, two-hundred dollars in your betting coffers thus far. Let's add much more to that though! The hand values have been reshuffled for you, so please select any letter in GAMBIT, and any remaining number on the Gambit Board to determine this hand's value please.

G, 14...I sound like I'm a Bingo caller! This time the hand you have to better is... And if you do so, we'll add another $1,100 to your betting bank. First card off the top of the deck this time is... A big Queen worth 10! Dare I assume Kevin that you're going to KEEP that lady and not use a power chip?

You have ten already. A six or higher nets you another $1,100. An Ace will make it $2,500. Next card please... (applause) Her husband must have heard you and did not like hearing you having her! $2,300 in betting money thus far. Let's get more though! Select any letter in GAMBIT and any of the remaining numbers on the board if you please Kevin.

The T and #18.

Under the "T" (ding) Ouch, the biggest one of all, 18... Hand is worth... (chime reveal) An additional $1,400 to your betting bank. First card... Remember we use the same 52 card deck throughout this game... A 3 for your consideration. If you wish, you can chip it out, but you can only use one chip per hand. You may want to keep it and take a wait & see approach as you are dealt more cards. If you get to 12 or more without beating the 18, you'll be given a surrender option. Also if you should tie the 18, you'll have the option to surrender and win half of the hand's value or $700. What do you want to do Kevin, keep the 3 and hang onto the power chip & see what happens, or just chip the 3 out right now?

Very well A field goal to start, next card please... (gasps from the gallery) A touchdown plus a 2 point conversion there....if you keep that you'll have 11 Kevin. Dare I assume you'll take it?

(applause) This puts you in a really good position to score 21 and to add $2,500 to your bankroll instead of just $1,400! An 8, 9, 10 or face card will win you this hand. Hoping for a 10 value card, let's see it... (groans) Just a 4. Not much help. You can use a power chip if you wish, but again only 1 power chip per hand during the first four hands in this game. What say ye Kevin?
|
|
|
Post by koopakid17 on Apr 12, 2021 7:09:05 GMT -5
I’ll power chip that four.

|
Post by billmcdee on Apr 13, 2021 5:38:45 GMT -5
Away goes the 4, and the power chip. This next card you must keep, let's hope it's a ten or a face card! (groans) That puts you at 13, which means the next card may put you over 21 Kevin. If you go over 21, you win $0 for this particular hand. Whenever a player is in a vulnerable position, they can opt out and surrender the hand for a guaranteed $500 to be added to their betting bank. If you continue, you'll need a 6 or a 7 to add $1,400 more to your $2,300. Get an 8 on the next card and it will be $2,500 added. If you get a 5 and tie, you then will have the option to freeze and win half or $700. How do you want to play it?

(applause) The audience seems to agree. I'm a tad worried since the last 2 cards were so little. A five would tie and you could still pick up $700. A 6 or 7 will give you $1,400. If you get another 8 though, it will be 21 and we'll add $2,500 to your betting bank! I know Card Sharks fans do not like 8's, but we need to see another one here and now! Next card please.... OH BOY!!!!!!!! (Many cheers & applause) Kevin, that gamble paid off beautifully! Now you have $4,800 in your betting bank. One more hand against the Gambit Board, then we'll go on to the Beat the Dealer wagering hand. We have doubled the remaining dollar values on the board, as the 4th hand is always worth double. Get another 21 and that will add $5,000 to your betting bank. Please select any letter in GAMBIT then any of the remaining numbers Kevin.
