They say things happen in "threes" especially celebrity deaths.
Although I am no longer a fan of professional sports, as a youth I was very much so.
On January 7th, long time Dodger Manager Tommy Lasorda passed away at the age of 93. He was a member of the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers for 71 remarkable seasons, 3 years longer than legendary Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully.
Lasorda's ace pitcher Don Sutton passed away January 18th at the age of 75.
And last, but not least, Hammerin' Hank Aaron, the TRUE Home Run king, passed away yesterday at age 86, just two weeks shy of his 87th birthday.
I have had fond memories of all three of these legends. The more people from my youth pass away, the older and lonelier I feel.
Here's hoping that Tommy, Don and Hank all arrived safe at home.
Condolences to their respective family members, friends and many many fans...
