Well isn't that wonderful? The whole family's here. OK, then. (audience cheers) You know, Kevin, you chose a great time to come up here. (audience starts cheering) Ohhhhh, you chose a great time to come up here, and Burton Richardson is going to tell you why. (the curtain lifts as the graphic shows up on screen)Burton: (VO) Kevin, you're going to play Rat Race for a chance to win up to ONE MILLION DOLLARS IN CASH!(audience explodes) Greg: Yes. Come over here, Kevin. You're going to be playing Rat Race for up to $1,000,000 in cash. This is what we call Million Dollar Rat Race. Why? Because the stakes have never been higher. If one of your rats comes in third, you'll win $200,000 in cash. If one of your rats comes in second, you'll win $300,000 in cash. But Kevin.... if one of your rats comes in first, you'll win five hundred thousand dollars in cash! (audience cheers) So, do you realize how much you'll win if all three rats come in first, second, and third, right?

And we'd love to give it to you. Now, with the stakes being as high as they are, we can't give you any free rats. You've got to earn your rats. This is America, dang it, and here you earn your rats! (audience cheers) You people will cheer at anything. All right, Kevin, it's actually quite easy to do, if you know how to price things. Take this first item over here. Burton? (James stands by the first item)Burton: First off, with all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Big Hero 6 is an action-packed comedy adventure that introduces Baymax, a lovable, personal companion robot, who forms a special bond with robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada. This includes the Blu-Ray and DVD. From Walt Disney Home Entertainment.Greg: Now, Kevin. For your first rat, please price this within $10, high or low. (audience shouts suggestions)

All right, then. Let's hope it's lucky for you. Now, James is also standing next to another item that might pique your interest. (James demonstrates this item)Burton: This multi-station tower has a unique and easy-to-use feature EZ-Adjust horizontal bars that lets you increase the variety of your exercises, raise the intensity of your workouts, and improve the results of your fitness program. With a tower-mounted workout placard that demonstrates 8 Key Exercises, and a guide featuring 10 more, the Bowflex BodyTower is the perfect home fitness solution.Greg: And our newest model certainly knows how to use it. Post by palmer7 on Feb 19, 2015 15:34:18 GMT -5
$700? (James turns the tag around) [$499] (buzzer)
(audience groans loudly) No, it's $499. I'm sorry. Now you don't get a chance at a million. But you could still win half a million, or maybe even $800,000. It depends on what you know about this last prize. Bring it out, Burton! (Burton comes out riding this) Burton: Finally, Honda’s Forza™ is a scooter that’s way more than what you think a scooter can be. It comes with a liquid-cooled fuel-injected four-stroke 279cc engine, a 12-volt power socket, and an anti-lock breaking system. Greg: Kevin, to earn your second rat and improve your chances considerably, price this within $1,000, high or low. And, should you be successful, we'll give you the motorscooter as well. So, what's your bid on that? (audience shouts suggestions)

[BLUE BOY] *[ORANGE SODA]* [PINK-Y] *[GREEN WITH ENVY]* [YELLOW SNOW]
All right. So, you have two rats. That means you can win as much as $800,000. However, I've got to warn you: not all of the rats are guaranteed to finish. Now now, CBS Standards and Practices requires me to read this. "Indeed, occasionally one of the rats gets stuck on the track, and the race continues to play out, just as competitors occasionally do not finish in various races in real life." And this is about as real as it gets, ladies and gentlemen. We have two rats. If one of them comes in first, half-a-million. One of them comes in second, $300,000. One of them comes in third, it's $200,000. If Blue Boy, Pink-y, and Yellow Snow win place and show, you get nothing other than the scooter and the DVD. Are you ready for this, Kevin?

Of course he's ready. Manuela, are you ready? Manuela: Yep!Greg: Very good. Ladies and gentlemen, the books are closed. The betting is over. Now I've got a starter's pistol that was given to me for such an occasion. (I pull out my starter's pistol, the audience panics) Oh, grow up. Everyone. It's obvious this can't be used anymore. (I throw it away) On your mark, get set..... GO! (Manuela pushes the button and starts the rat race)(the audience, Burton, James, and Manuela start cheering)
[RAT RACE]
[1] [PINK-Y] [2] [BLUE BOY] [3] *[GREEN WITH ENVY]* [4] [YELLOW SNOW] [5] *[ORANGE SODA]*
TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS! You've just won $200,000! $200,000(dings, clangs, whoops, the works)[MAIN THEME](the audience goes wild, everybody hugs Kevin, even Kevin's family runs up on stage) Oh my goodness! And just think what would've happened if he'd won the half-million. Kevin, Kevin, let me get in for a second. What are you gonna do with two hundred grand?

(fade in) (cheers and applause)
Greg: Welcome back, everyone. We still haven't had a chance to recover from that "win" on Rat Race. We've so far given away over $234,000 in cash and prizes today, and we could give away $315,000 more! But first, we have some important business. Sam here is playing not just for someone in the audience, but also for charity. Which charity are you playing for?

Post by hodders on Feb 20, 2015 15:15:14 GMT -5
Well today Greg, my winnings or the equivalent in cash are this time heading over to Centrepoint, a charity back over the pond that provides accommodation and advice to homeless 16-25 year olds. And the work they do is second to none.
|
|
|
Post by palmer7 on Feb 20, 2015 16:15:09 GMT -5
That's fantastic. Now, what we'll do first off is give you a bonus spin for charity. Whatever you spin, we'll just tack two zeroes to the end of it. So, if you were to get a 50, we'd give Centrepoint $5,000. If you were to get a dollar, then they'd get $10,000. If you get a nickel..... well, we'll give you $500 and then an additional $500 for a minimum of $1,000. Your charity can't leave with less than $1,000 off this wheel. (audience cheers)
After that spin, you'll go back in line to the second position and try to spin for a dollar like our other two contestants. Sound good?

Post by palmer7 on Feb 22, 2015 20:15:11 GMT -5
(he spins the wheel)And let's see what we're going to give to his charity...... it looks like...... $8,500! (audience cheers) Very nice, very nice indeed. Mark Goodson Productions will write out a check for $8,500...... Huh? (a producer shouts something off stage) What do you mean it's Sam's birthday? (pause) You're not kidding? Sam, it's your birthday coming up. Happy birthday, man! (audience cheers) Tell you what I'm gonna do. We won't write a check out for eighty-five hundred bucks. No! We'll write out a check for eighty-five hundred pounds! £8,500 comes out to...... just a shade over $13,000. $13,074.55 to be exact. So already, you've won quite a lot for someone in the audience and for your charity. Now get back in line! Steven, as the person who has won the least on today's show, you've earned the right, honor, privilege, et cetera, of spinning first. So spin that wheel! (two numbers from 1-20, please; plus do you want to say hi to anyone?)

(he spins the wheel)Hello, Bronies in Boston. Hope you're staying warm. (the wheel starts to slow down) And it doesn't look like you'll get...... very much. A dime. I think you'd best spin it again, wouldn't you agree, audience? (audience agrees) (he spins the wheel)Here comes his second spin. He missed out on a trip to the Dominican Republic, but he wants to make good here..... 50. That's a total of 60 cents. Stand over there, please. (he does) (ding) [Score to Beat:] [.60]
All right, Sam. This is your first spin as a contestant. You need to beat a 60. Go for it! (two numbers from 1-20, please)
