Doing a little beta test for a possible version of Twenty-One on NGC.
This will be based off the 1982 Jim Lange pilot.
Two contestants (a champion and a challenger) answering questions from 1 to 9 points in various categories for up to five rounds. In the grand scheme of things, producers of this show think 1 to 3 points is easy, 4 to 6 points is medium, and 7 to 9 points is hard, ALL 9 POINT QUESTIONS WILL BE TWO PART QUESTIONS, and contestants will have to answer both parts correctly to get the points.
A right answer will add the points, a wrong answer will lose the points but contestants can never go below zero.
Players will be given the option to stop the game after Round 2 and Round 4. If either player elects to stop the game at the end of Round 2 or 4, the game ends immediately and the player with the higher score will be declared the winner.
The objective is to be the first player to reach 21 points. If the challenger is the first to 21, the champion gets to play that round to attempt to tie the game.
If a game reaches the end of Round 5, and no player has 21 points, the player with more points will be declared the winner.
The winning player will be paid $2,500 for the difference between the winning and losing score. If a game ends in a tie, the stakes for each subsequent game increases by $2,500 increments.
To keep the illusion of isolation booths, the game will be conducted in private message, until a winner is declared and the results will be edited into each "episode" and then posted for the people to read.
Two games will be conducted per "episode".
So, does anyone want to be the lab rats, err players :-)
